so i am not in a long term relationship~ i actually have a question about a first date but its related to “saying no” and no ppl pleasing, but also not making him feel like he’s doing everything wrong ~so for context we went out and i wore my most favourite dress ever (like a little girl called me a princess so you know i ate) and he was definitely caught off guard couldn’t get enough type beat. (being feminine, other than him, and mysterious all accomplished ☺️) and he was being a gentleman, opening all the doors, pulling my chair back, asking me if i needed help with anything bla,bla. but then at the end of the date hes putting his hand on my waist trying to pull me closer, asking about my earrings (hand in my hair) and bellybutton ring (poked it)~ and all of that was already feeling like too much like who even are you and why are you touching me. the only thing i said ‘no’ to directly was when he hugged me in a way that ruins my curls (no body can mess with my hair like death before dishonor) but i don’t want him to think i dislike him but im also not very physical and men are~ so the question is like how do i say don’t touch me without making him feel bad or loose attraction 🙈🌷

I don’t know what is about him! I really started to like him within a week. We only texted for 2 weeks and he wasn’t even consistant but apart from that, he was exactly the type of guy that was according to my “league”. Yes I know this was the reddest flag and I confronted him and he changed drastically and became more available but things couldn’t work out and it was my fault and he ghosted me. My ego isn’t allowing me to double text him back but my heart is craving him so badly. It’s been a month and I cannot let it go and he is possibly dealing with someone new. I don’t know how to even process it. I am feeling so angry,depressed because I really thought I’m a changed person and do not obsess anymore. But I am. Maybe I got attracted to him because he left as he was something that I want in myself.

I think it's about striking a balance, which can be incredibly tricky. I did a lot for my ex because one of my love languages is acts of service. However, I overextended myself to the point that he took advantage of my kindness, generosity, and compassion. Like others have said, it's about reciprocity. I lost myself for a while in that relationship because I made myself way too available and didn’t establish and enforce boundaries. Yet, I don't want to be self-involved, cold, and inflexible. Again, it can be such a tricky endeavor.

I think this is sound. Love comes and should be present, but love can fade when things get tough.

this is such a white washed interpretation of eastern philosophical concepts because this literally isn't how we see it in our culture. a balance of both masculine and feminine energy is crucial in every human being regardless of their gender or sexuality for overall wellbeing and lifelong harmony of relationships. because if you think your idea of feminine energy is only supposed to be exhibited by a female and the same for masculine energy being exhibited by male, okay, then who does what for queer relationships? i suggest you look more into it because if you're going to bring in eastern culture into this, then you gotta know what you're talking about at the first place.
