Great video! I’m curious, of all the games you’ve reviewed (that aren’t yours) what’s been your favorite? Tricube tales really speaks to me the most of them because I prefer more heroic play than OSR style. I also like the customization. Have you checked out Tricube tactics or played with it? I guess it’s modular you can pick and choose what rules you want. But curious as to your thoughts. I’m a newbie trying to break into the hobby and a like your style 👍
@asquirrelplays5 күн бұрын
oh I'm not good at picking favorites lol it really depends on the mood/what I'm looking for. For example, if I need some "rough n tough" survival mechanics, Mausritter is absolutely fantastic. If I want a good, solid, fantasy system that won't get bogged down in rules, it's EZD6 all the way. If I want something super flexible and easy, it's Tricube 100%. And I think that's the beautiful thing about TTRPGs. Every time you play, you're still roleplaying an adventure. That part is the same. But then you pick the tools/ruleset that best supports the adventure you're currently on. As for Tricube Tactics, yes, it is 100% on my list and I can't wait to get to it. I wish I could have done it day 1, but we already had some other things scheduled (plus all the holidays). Me and Avenue Studios are going to run a Tricube Tales game first so they get familiar with it, then we'll do a Tactics game, and that's when I'll work on my review. I always try to play the games first so I can see how they actually work/play out. I love Zadmar's work. I know it's gonna be good.

I always called that Hallows-eve which is quickly followed up by the day of "Thanks and Harvests". Then when the nights grow long and the days short, the people gather in the center of town around a big bonfire(s) and celebrate the "Longest Night" signaling the beginning of the days lengthening again and the halfway point of winter.

Have you heard of Risus or ever looked into GOG? I think you would appreciate both of those things. (Goblin Punch in general actually... Arnold K is a genius. And Skerples too.) Also, the original Apocalypse World completely changed the way I looked at RPGs in general. As for cookies... I love to bake, but I've never been able to match the consistency of my mom's cookies, and it drives me insane. I've watched her make them since I was little, and tried to replicate it, but I've never been able to make them myself. </rant>

I've only heard Risus mentioned by one other person before, and I forget which video it was. Had never heard of it before that point, but it does look pretty darn neat. Don't know anything about Goblin Punch though, so I'll have to look into that. Also - your mom totally has a secret about the cookies she's not telling you!
