I guess I've never had a problem with it... My car is running by the time i move my foot from the brake to the gas pedal so I don't see any problems with it.. And I think probably if I started yanking wires out from under the hood I would void my warranty

Question: my car has a battery bigger and heavier than normal cars just because of this feature. Some electrical stuff issue. So if I dont use the start/stop function anymore, can I use a normal sized battery?

That stop start system is murder on the battery, starter, electrical system, etc. They try to tell you you are saving fuel but this is just the tree huggers way of saving the environment, The poor twits don't realize they are causing more batteries to find their way to landfills, engines because of stopped oil flow to hot engine, starters, Ac system, auxiliary cooling fans run more often, cooling system of engine works harder, etc. On my Ford it could be permanently turned off, on my Mercedes it can't. The on off switch is right there at the start button so it's just a matter of touching the button twice but still a pain in the ass. It's just causing motorists far more money than ever could be saved in fuel.😔😔😔

I read this with Interest but, I don't have a problem with pushing a button maybe twice a day, also, You didn't mention that if it's discovered You have disconnected this equipment You will Void Your Warranty and believe You Me the computers can pick this up. so, not to be labelled lazy just push that little button upon start up.

There is a plugin module that goes into the computer analyzer port under the dash that will keep the Start/ Stop active or inactive after you shut the engine off. I have it and it works great. I just have to remember to remove it when I take the Cherokee in for service.

Yes this works until there's a update , I had the same issue on my 2020 F150 , after the update ( which I didn't do ) my alternator didn't charge anymore! Plugged it back on and saved me 1200 dollars in repairs

What series type of bulb is it? Both their website and Amazon page don't specify anything for a Pacifica, and obviously you could choose any series in the correct bulb type. So I was just curious which specific one you got. Also, do you have a video for replacing the brights and what they look like?

When i purchased my 2020 Ford Ranger Lariat from the Ford dealership the auto start-stop was already disconnected from the battery I've had no problems whatsoever everything else works when I asked about it the dealer just smiled at me

On a Jeep Grand Cherokee, you can do the same thing by disconnecting the power connector to the second (smaller) battery that is located under the passenger seat with the main battery. You will get the same warning light that your auto start/stop feature has an issue.

The auto stop/start is ALL about carbon credits or to reduce carbon emissions that the government is requiring auto manufacturers to do. Nothing to do with saving gas as far as its original intension.

Totally annoying . Holds up others at stops, and the delay means someone else is kept back . ALSO we have been constantly told that an engine puts out higher emissions level at start than once up to temperature idling, so WHICH is better.

Ever follow these stop and go drivers. Hesitation at every light as you follow them finally get going after a Hesitation. Guaranteed you'll say more than "dang" by the end of the drive somewhere after following stop/go drivers.

Dumbest, most useless "feature" mandated by the Nanny Government in a long long time. Why not just make it optional by having a switch to turn it on or off rather than shoving it down the throat of the person who BOUGHT the car? Even better, it should be an OPTIONAL "feature" in the first place. How long do you have to drive the vehicle saving a couple of drops of gas an hour before you make back the money you spent paying for the system and maintaining the system, let alone putting up with the inherent dangers and irritations of having your car stop over and over and over? The yellow "warning light" with the big "A" is just giving you an "A" for not being stupid!!!! Good job, assuming there are no other repercussions.

Since I got retired for not getting the jamb I wanted to get myself and the wife new vehicles. We test drove a lot of vehicles and all of these start/stoppers were eliminated. I bought a ‘23 Toyota 4Runner and the wife a ‘24 Subaru Ascent (it was getting the start/stopper in ‘25). Zero regrets and these will be the last vehicles we will ever own since we’re getting ready to be planted in the ground in hopefully 10-15 years.

Some Chrysler Pacifica comes with second battery for that you have 1 battery. 🤷‍♂️

It really doesn’t save the environment because the starter and battery will fail prematurely which means you’ll need to replace them. Replacing them means that new ones will need to be manufactured which means more fuel will be used by the manufacturers more fuel will be used to transport the new parts to the sales facilities. And then you have to take in to account the disposal of the old parts. More fuel to transport again and batteries are bad for the environment. Toxic waste. The only people this befits are the manufacturers by selling more parts.

the most ridiculous thing about stop start is that it creates unwanted wear and tear on the starting system /engine - and that potential cost far outweighs the tiny bit of fuel it may save when you stop for a few seconds....i hate it .

I hated the Auto Stop, and within a Month of getting my Caddy with it, I disabled it. Driving Experience improved 10 Fold, and the worry of all that wear on the Starter, and the Ring Gear, has went away.

3:47 , change the switch to a toggle switch . Then the circuit is permanently open . You only close it when you want to activate the system again . Problem solved .

I drive a relatively new car so it will be reliable about starting, what happens when it gets 50k miles on it, is it going to leave me dead in the middle of some busy intersection blocking traffic during rush hour? Fyou Mr. Environment freak. I believe the engine goes full rich to start SO i'm probably not saving the environment or any gas. Lastly, my starter has a finite number of starts in it, this is going to use a lot of them up over stupidity, this was probably invented by some A hole in CA anyhow. Actually one manufacturer (the one that makes my car) has designed a starter with a counter on it and they have determined just how many starts on average before it dies, at some point well before that it turns the starter off (it gives you a warned a day or so before) leaving you to buy a new starter (no the old one can't be rebuilt) that costs three times as much as an old time overhauled one used to cost. This is part of the vast US Gobermint F the motorist program. F them CSers too.

every time the engine stops the oil drains down and has to come back up. over time it will wear out the engine faster. The government and the car companies don't care.

Battery may Get overcharged/damahed because of disconnected connector

That little module thing is a Battery Charge Monitor. If you unplug it to disable the Auto Start/Stop it will also cease feedback to other sensors in the vehicle and over time it will generate fault codes and cause you fail an inspection. Plugging it back in will clear those codes but over time. Could take weeks. If you let the mechanic replace parts and modules you are looking at thousands of dollars.
