Question: where did they come from? Was "Narmer" (his tribe) from Sudan/Aethiopia or did the 'EGyptians' invade from the Delta? That is to say what we all know: Narmer, et al, were invaders not indigenous. Things only got worse by the time you get to Memphis and the rest.

Was it a case of a land without people in the Peloponnesus and the mainland? Maybe just maybe there was indigenous People living there have you got something to tell or are you just spewing out the same old lies?Do you know anything of the indigenous population in the Peloponnesus? If not then you’ve got maybe one side of the truth and we all know how that goes.

I will always chicken my head whenever I think of the old way I learned to pronounce Darius. Like the modern pronunciation. It was a big let down when I learned the right way to say it. I thought it was humorous how you have all these guys with epic sounding names. Then you have ol’ Darius that lives down the street and fixes cars. 😂 Edit: Also thank you for reading the quotes and really integrating them into your narrative. It’s really adds a personal touch to your storytelling. Some channels just put it on the screen for a couple of seconds and/or talk over it.

Gilgamesh is none other than the emperor of bharata named as Janmejay from mahabharata. Yes last days of him ,he was became a tyrant, killing brahmin community and also breaking the secred god rules of Hinduism, Also suspected the power of god and kill the secred bull ,its an forbidden act to harm Cows ,🤨 Then he Cursed for it and died by Leprosy. Kalaba = Kuru mahajanapada. Mind blowing facts.

U r completely misinterpreted the real facts, Sindhu Saraswati civilizational history show that it's continuous civilization we have, The dried up river Saraswati is the main culprit for abandonment of cities, We have pre flooded recording from mahabharata and also has archeological evidences to proofing. 😳 🤔

The thing to note about Herodotus as a source, specifically on Cambyses, was that his information on the ruler partly comes from the Egyptians themselves, who, I imagine, do not remember Cambyses particularly fondly as the conqueror of their lands; I’m sure Cambyses was not nearly as tolerant as his father as well, helping paint him in such a bad light, but whether he was as bad as Herodotus was told is debatable.

Considering writing was laborious, they didn't spare words or repetition. They were a lot more literate & had good vocabulary & speech, than people today who just text.

Overestimating an enemy army by a factor of around 10 is pretty common in ancient sources. Also including the number of non-combatants into the size of armies is common as well, so I guess 250 000 men in the army and about 500 ships would be realistic. That would give something around 100 000 - 150 000 soldiers, which is still an impressive force.

Do any one (scholar, professor, expert, etc.) really know Sumerian, let alone know how to decipher, read and understand what's written? Whoever claims he/she can read Sumerian and understand the scrawls, then the question is WHO was that Sumerian who taught him/her? Even if there exists a 'dictionary' one has to be able to read the scrawls first, right? i believe all the claims to know Sumerian and the ability to translate it into other languages are pure bs.

Yes, it is not the pure Greek "Kik-klades" but this is because the area is best known in English with a softer "c" sound. Because this program is primarily for an English-speaking audience, that's why I use the most recognizable pronunciation. Thanks.

I am surprised by the relative fairness with which Herodotus treats the persian council of war. There are probably several made up or exaggerated things in favour of the greek, but it still is not cartoonish and it is believable. Thank you for your amazing work!

I have a pretty big one on Assyria in the world so there will for sure be a lot of "And I smashed their temples and in their fields sowed salt so that they would know that Ashur, my lord, granted me victory and yada yada... " They're always fun to read. Thanks for watching stay tuned for part IV!

The Floorplan in the big meeting with Xerxes was an inspiration! Born 75 years after the Persian King, Herodotus was not in the room where it happened. He sometimes wrote creatively, and there was a bias, but maybe the reasonings of Xerxes was not far from the ideas Herodotus laid out, or at least it was a common belief in the Hellas as to the reason for the war he declared on them.
