Really good Video, ihve learned alot from the Past Content, currently iam Saving my E34 Daylie, it had/has massive Rust Problems, mostly in the front bottom, a Thin Person could actually slip trough the big Hole, due to Water inbreak from Behind the Console somwhere, it was left there for likely 10 years before i bought the Car and checked it, however i got Into Welding from a Complete noob, i was scared of any Welding on the car, and now i feel like i could fix 90% of the Problems, also i learned, often if you Replace bad Metal, if you put new in, it does not have the exact same Shape of the old one, so you dont really need to buy every new shaped metal from BMW really, but thats just my take on it.

Trouble with plastic coated pipes is that the MOT tester will cut part of the coating off to test the condition of the steel pipe. My fav is copper/nickle pipes sprayed with clear Waxoyl so the tester can see the condition of the pipe.

How much oil did you use. Mine was dead as well I keep adding oil & it keeps sucking it. Ut doesn’t open.

Part of me wishes you did before and after borescope shots, but the other part knows just how sticky and horrible that stuff is and what a pain it would be to clean off from a borescope shaft let alone a camera lens.

Just noticed my rear jacking point on my 540 is gone as i was putting it on stands, My plan was to service the prop shaft cv and renew the whole suspension with all subframe and diff bushes control arms/bushes and ball joints and a set of BC coils so while I’m at it dropping the rear axle I’m just gonna drop the fuel tank and go to town on all the corrosion And your videos really helps visualize what I’m in for and what to look for! Realizing that to do any actual lasting work fuel tank needs to come down so I can get to all the corrosion and seal everything up once the repairs has been made To me, this is a summer only car. and seeing corrosion when I thought she was pretty clean is heartbreaking! Currently repairing my friends e36 witch had water in carpet for years and most of driver side (left) floor is the consistency of a biscuit Also made a floor repair on an incredibly rusty all year round daily e46 back a few years ago, so I’m not a complete newbie and seeing your videos and explanations really makes it less daunting to get started myself I quickly on my first e46 repair noticed how important it is to get all of the corrosion out and properly seal the repair A quick repair might look nice for a few years A good repair might last and look alright for 5-10 years A professional repair will look good for 20years if sealed good and cleaned every once in a while throughout the years

Great work. Wouldn't it be better to leave the plastic sill covers off? I was told that the plastic covers are the reason for the rusted sills in the first place. Is that true?

The car is in this condition because the owner has not washed the car underneath and has driven in salty roads.....I am sure the owner must have been an woman washing the car once in 6 months.

My E46 has this problem. 😢 I'm gonna cut out the arch and replace it with a new piece.

Work is fantastic details is just perfect but why would anyone spend the money on that car clearly not worth it, but he must have a big reason to spend the money

Sorry, I cant recognize English well, could you please consult me about the paint layers and chemistry? After removing corrosion and welding I need to apply: 1) Black Rust Preventitive paint - Poor 15? 2) Grey Seam Sealer - Original BMW 3) Grey High Build Primer - ??? 4) Yellow Kind of Paint - ???

Just curious.... I have a BMW F30 335D X Drive with the N57 engine which of course has 6 cylinders. If this is relatively quick process, why is the cost as high as it is? The cheapest quote I have seen for my vehicle is £469.50 for 4 hours of labour, new seals and the walnut shells. Next cheapest was £500 then followed by a whopping £695. They estimate it will take 3-4 hours.... I appreciate that to conduct this process the inlet manifold has to be removed, but if the process of cleaning each cylinder only takes perhaps up to a few minutes (you specified 12 seconds in the video), why does the whole process take 3-4 hours? I'm going to be having this process done within the next 2 weeks, my vehicle has covered 89,500 miles (67 reg) and the previous owner was a right cheapskate and hardly maintained the vehicle at all, so I doubt it's ever been done.
