Tell you what, as soon as the state government gets the new Australind train up and running (btw glad they are preserving the old Australind), and as soon as they've finished playing building train tracks in Perth, they should look into opening up passenger railway service across regional WA. Like reviving old servicing from Albany, Geraldton, even as far as the old Kalgoorlie-Esperance line. That would be awesome. I read an article about three years ago about the idea of high speed regional WA.
@jefftoll60416 күн бұрын

@thequartersfooty There was an article in the West Australian newspaper today, 10th June. About a push to get passenger rail to Albany again. Amazing how many regional passenger rail services there are, in QLD, NSW and Victoria.
@thequartersfooty15 күн бұрын
@@westernaustraliatrainscene5689 Its amazing that the three states you mentioned are more developed in that field, given they are the three most populous states in Australia. Western Australia is on its way to 3 million people, 4th most populated state and we are left behind in regional rail services, with only lets say right now the Perth-Kalgoorlie line (Given two additional services are along that line the AvonLink & MerredinLink) as the Australind out of action temporarily. We're so spread out between the major centres its ridiculous. You put in the networks, you take more cars off the highways, its a cheaper option that flying. Would love to see it happen in the next 5 years.
