Yes, I miss that country too… Used to be the marketing strategy was build the best item you could and people will buy it.… But now it’s all profit driven with the eye on quarterly shareholder reports so in an ever expanding effort to increase profitability some of the larger manufacturers Have gone to lesser grade steel replaced steel with plastic or polymer you get the picture… Just like the notion of built-in obsolescence with appliances used to be you’d get a refrigerator or a washer in the dryer that would last you 20 years now you’re swapping them out in five

I just found this video. I ditched the scout scope on my WInchester 94 a few years ago and put it back to iron sights. I now take my whitetail with a Marlin 1894 CST with a Romeo 5 and I'm loving the setup so far.

I noticed you put a "kink" at the terminal end of your cable, next to the lock. Would you please educate me as to why you do this? I've always run the lock end of the cable, through the lock just opposite they way you do. I don't have any need for putting any kink in the cable, and I get very nice loop shape even before loading them. So, I must be missing something, and I would really like to know what benefit you are gaining by kinking the cable. Thanks so much for you feedback!!

It looks like you are using aluminum on you cable loops. I’ve had them pull out. Hogs are like a bulldozer. I put 1/2 inch nuts in a fire to soften them. Two mashed down on the cable end, has not failed me yet😉

Thank you for all you do. You got me into trapping. Ordering all my supplies and already know what an over loaded snare cable looks like. I am paranoid about one thing though. I ordered a spool of 1000 ft 1x19 1/16 cable and the spool looks half empty than the advertisement photo. do you by any chance know how much a full spool of this cable weights? thank you for all you do.
@Meattrapper
@Meattrapper Ай бұрын
Remember that spools are not sized to the cable. That is a spool is a spool and then they wrap cable on it, so a spool wrapped with thick 1/8” cable will be full while the same spool wrapped with 1/16” cable will not be as full. Also, most websites just use a stock photo and not a real pic.

The first sheath is a "Chrome" tanned leather. The third is a "Veg" tanned. Two completely different leathers. The one between looks like a lighter thickness of veg tanned that has been treated with something that makes it a bit more flexible but not soft.

I’d absolutely love to own one of those saps. Unfortunately I live in the Netherlands so carrying a firearm is out of the question and also I’m what I think they call a community service officer in the USA so if I get caught carrying a sap I’d most likely be out of a job. Meanwhile tens of thousands of unvetted military aged males from Africa and the Middle East enter the country every year. What a time to be alive😢

Hi I love your videos.An idea that I recently heard is that if one is in a survival situation the only things that you will have is what is in your pockets.I find this really realistic.So in order to make snares some natural cordage would be needed.do you think that this is possible and how would the law view such a thing.

I’d check upstream more to find the original source. You’re probably fine if you know the land there. Around me, too much agricultural and general run off. I’d want to find the source or I’m gonna treat it.

That stitched gear is the only properly made sheath you showed. Any sheath should be good 9-10 oz vegetable tanned leather. Bees wax and olive oil mix has been used for centuries to treat and waterproof leather. Used for leather canteens and such.

Interesting but i prefer kydex. I do more fishing and messing around rivers. Kydex is better in all conditions. If you want leather you can add leather over the kydex. I also like how kydex can be changed to carry on either side. Leather just doesn't hold up in my experience especially after a few days wet. Just a FYI.

Spring water is great, but never collect it in around water plants. My uncle was a world renowned Biologist, Zoologist and Ornithologist who did environmental impact studies for the government a was the head of the Biology Department at the University of Arkansas. We went out to collect wild Watercress for salad. He gave strict instructions not to pick the stems below the water, because that's where the parasitic Flukes hid out. So there are parasites even in the cleanest water. But catching it as falls from a small waterfall with no vegetation up stream as you did here, is the right way to collect water.

Bees Wax! Great idea! Did you know that they make a antibiotic ointment out of Bees Wax and Pine Pitch? You can rub it in like any other suave with a saddle soap consistancy.

There is a video about water proofing leather. I think he used silicone caulk with acetone to a water consistancy then brush it on like paint. Mainly the video was about boots, but it will treat any leather the same way, and even add a little stiffness to it.🙂👍
