Flood gates are actually rarely opened, only 3 times in the last 11 years and had been like 50 years befoire that. I was there in the July '13 opening and it was quite a spectacle. The water rose up over the floor level of the boardwalk you are on there.

The orb weavers are totally harmless. If you get one on you, just stand still and let it bumble around until it falls off. All they wanna do is get away from you. They will not bite. Usually if you tippy toe and drop down on your heels, they’ll fall off of you.
@getlostwithjustinkris2 ай бұрын
Yes! We have learned much more about them since that video. We're in the upstate and are now seeing them around here as well. In fact, we have a huge one living between the trees in our front yard. We check in on "him" every day! He's just living his best life out there. 😆

Scheduled generation starts at 12 minutes before the hour. Within 10 to 15 minutes the generators can be running full load. That’s said, maintenance can start a unit anytime to test components at any time or if a running unit goes down and they need a unit not running. It will then start.

Love Brevard NC...I Fly fish in the area and have been many times. O.P. Taylors is one of the most amazing Toy Stores you will ever visit. There used to be an old book store I liked to browse in, but it's closed now. I also heard the rumor about the College being a great place to view a White Squirrel; spent a good bit of time there and never saw a single one. "The Hub" is a great stop for Mountain bikers...Davidson River Outfitters is a great stop for Fly Fishermen. Mantiques is an interesting store. A block over from the street you were on, there is "Mikes"...a cafe that serves Italian food / pizza.

There are lots of white squirrels around Franklin Park where you went. They are the very same squirrels as the common grey squirrels just with a white coat variant. They are not albinos and most have a small grey patch on the back of the head or even a streak down the back. Whites can be born to greys or be a part of a mixed litter of both whites and greys. There are other places in the US that have white squirrels, but not in the numbers that we have in Brevard. Thank you for this lovely video of our beautiful town.

I know it looks like it might be different but it’s actually pronounced “Two - ga - low”. And regarding the Prather house (pronounced “Pray - ther”), Confederate General Robert Toombs avoided capture by the invading damn yankees by secreting away in a closet of the house during one of their searches.

Guys, I love your channel. I just visited Glendale. (I think the park is called Glendale Shoals.) In summer, it's overflowing with lush vegetation. I like the falls... and the rapids below... the best. On the west bank, there is a small row of a few old storefronts made from the stones there. The old storefronts are amazingly being "reclaimed" by the vegetation... a photographer's dream.

Your channel just popped up on my feed today. I'm so excited to watch your travels. I live near Easley and am always looking for fun and interesting places to take my granddaughters when they come visit. We've taken them to Tiny Town every year (for the oldest one it's been 8 yrs) and the youngest enjoyed her first Tiny Town visit this past Christmas. We have enjoyed talking to the family members by the fire who keep this sweet gem going. It's so kind they do this. I agree, donate something if you go. I'm on my way to watch another video😁

The disparaging remarks were appropriate considering what occurred from the specific business but to lump the entire town into is another matter.... and it was a 4" x 5" ad in the Variety...

I love it there, its my standard for mountain lakers and mountains. checking your videos it looks like you moved to South Carolina 2 years ago, Im in Florida right now and looking to move to Anderson, SC in May '23. what made you want to move there? and how are you enjoying it since you've been there?
@getlostwithjustinkris Жыл бұрын
Hi!! We are very familiar with Auburn! We lived in Citrus Heights, just outside of Sacramento and both (at different times) worked in Auburn. It's a nice little town. We moved here for the company I worked for in 2019. We actually love it here. It's a great place to live. Although, the rapid growth in the Upstate is making it a more difficult place to be, little by little. Still, no regrets. We love SC. Thank you for watching!!!

Thanks for sharing! Is there any way to know if / when Tiny Town is open for exploring?
@getlostwithjustinkris2 жыл бұрын
That's a great question! Unfortunately, it's one that I cannot confirm due to lack of a website or any real online presence on behalf of Tiny Town. What I can tell you (based on our personal experience) is that it open from 5:30pm to 10pm every day and that it goes from "just after Thanksgiving" until New Year's Eve. You might give it a few days after Thanksgiving to make sure, but this has been a tradition for decades, so I feel it's a safe gamble. I only wish there was phone number or website to reference. That's the best advice I can offer. Best of luck on your adventure!!
