yes sir! love my 7’6 medium light for smallmouth. i’m sure you understand the longer length for smallmouth. thanks for all your great videos. love your 3000 vanford. i got a 4000. on sale for $155 and it balences my longer rod better

I use a LOT of soft plastics, but nothing yet with that elaztech / elastomer material. I can see a lot of advantages with durability, so I may have to finally give it a try. It would only make sense. Great haul ( as usual ) ! I pay close attention to your lure finds, but I envy those Vanfords back there. True fishing objet de désir lol. Keep the videos coming and go catch ‘em !

Nice haul. You do an awesome job at picking up discounts. You gotta love the soft swim baits. My favorite is the bass assassin elite shiner. It’s killer for smallies. I recently picked up some Z Man pop shads. Soft bait popper.

G Loomis seems to over rate their rods in that their medium power seems to be more of a medium light. My Pro Green for inshore is rated medium heavy is more like my Medium power St Croix rods. But I like them.

Thanks for your video. My wife and I both have Shimano Vanford 5000 spinning reels for a couple of years. We both have G Loomis e6x 9 ft 6 inch med / light spinning rods. Vanford series are the best spinning reels you can buy for the price. We live in N/W Oregon on the coast and fish for salmon steelhead and sea run cutthroat trout. The rods weigh only 5 ounces and reel is only 7.8 ounces. Incredibly lightweight combination for big fish. Looking to by the new Vanford FA 5000 when it becomes available.

@familybudgetfisherman Punching with the spinning rod….makes me nervous, my man ! That being said, I’ve done it out of necessity in the past. And it made me nervous lol. It always felt like I’m writing checks my rod can’t cash. Very nice bass, though. Around here up North, 4 lbs is probably equivalent to what a 6 or even 7 would be down south, TX, or the Cali Delta.
