My 2024 High End Rod & Reel Arsenal

Hello. I want to present to you my High End rod and Reel Arsenal for 2024. There are so new entries and some discontinued combos. Reels and line may change but this is substantially what I will be using. This arsenal will be used mostly on highly competitive waters. Each one of these combos is finely tuned to catch a bag limit after highly competitive tournaments, generally highly pressured fishable water, weather changes affecting the water, water level fluctuations, and clarity changes. The goal here is to have the best equipment I can afford to have a successful fishing day no matter the conditions present. I plan to produce lots of content with this arsenal so let me know your reaction in the comments below.

All I did was set aside a few dollars each pay, watch for some unique special sales, ask for gift cards for my birthday, Father’s Day, and other special appreciation days, and it pays off over the course of three years of dedication. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

You need to get yourself a 2023 Shimano Vanquish 3000XG. This reel is basically a finesse version of the Stella FK and it is $400 to your door from Japan.

@@familybudgetfisherman 100% understand. I spent $10k on Daiwa and Shimano from Digitaka since 2014 and they get here in 2-4 days. Worst case you can get one from EBay and have the buyer's protection.

Hope your family and friends are safe and out of the way of the bad weather. What an arsenal! Have a Tatula 3000 MQ and I haven’t noticed an issue with it yet but prefer the previous LT model. Have you’ve tried Daiwa J Braid grand? Seems I’m putting that on most of my spinning reels then followed by power pro. Have you’ve noticed a difference in any of your Vanfords? Thank you for your kind words. My previous model Tatula LT is hard to beat. I have not tried the Daiwa J Braid Grand yet, but I do plan to do so at some point this year. I have not noticed any difference in the performance of my Vanfords of the same models. I do notice differences in the 3000 vs the 4000. The 4000 casts better and the line lays on the spool a bit more evenly. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

Amazing video :) I was thinking of buying myself a Shimano dialuna 9ft medium power for when I fish big lakes for pike and perch, Im abit hesitant though since I baught a 9ft presso and it balanced horribly with every reel I own. I was wondering how it would balance with a vanford or sustain 3000 :)

Thank you for your interest in the channel and for watching the video. I think the that 9ft Shimano Dialuna would be a fantastic purchase. However, you may need to step up your reel size to a 4000 to get better balance. I love Vanfords. However the Sustain in the 4000 size might be a better pairing with the Dailuna. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

13 Fishing is a fantastic company. Now that they are wholly owned by Rapala, I hope the quality continues. Rapala is doing a decent job with the European rights to Okuma. Two of my Vanfords were purchased at $134 each; about the price of a good Okuma reel. I actually mentioned that purchase in one of my videos. So with planning, patience, and special discount sales opportunities, you can afford a Vanford. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

Oh Lord NO! My wife would have at least slept in a different room if I were impulse buying this equipment. The Rod and Reel Arsenal was acquired over the last 3 years. I saved money, asked those who wanted to give me gifts to just give me a gift card, waited for sales, and sold other equipment. It wasn't easy by with patience and discipline I was able to acquire this High End arsenal. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

Please consider taking a look at other videos to gain a sense of the intent of the channel. I emphasize planning to make a purchase, setting aside small amounts of money over a moderate period of time, and wait for special sales to make purchases. Oh yes. I have 2 St Croix Bass X rods that are shorter. One is 6‘10“ and is a medium light extra fast. The other is a 6‘8“ medium extra fast. Tackle Warehouse currently has them available for sale for $86 each, which is down from there full price of $120 each. Great performing rods. 🎣👏🏿🎣

Until my concept of “Budget“ became more dynamic about seven years ago, I used to purchase equipment that gave me the widest range of opportunities. Bait casters traditionally, have a limitation where spinning equipment did not. I could purchase inshore equipment that could handle baits over 1 ounce but I could not purchase a standard baitcast combination that could throw Crappie jigs. So it was a practical reason for me to say “no baitcast rods“. Now, 40 years later, I am able to throw a spinning combo in every way the average baitcast combo can be thrown. So at a personal preference, I have just decided to limit my bait exposure to 1 in each of my entire rod and reel arsenal. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

@@familybudgetfisherman I don’t have a rod yet for it, but that reel is fire ! It is really solid, and the tolerances are TIGHT. Just like I heard in reviews of it, it feels like it will stand up to hard use and most standard power fishing uses. Can’t wait to be able to get it on the water ! Can’t thank you enough, Sir !
