How many pistons are the upgraded calipers?
@LevelUpMechanics
@LevelUpMechanics 5 күн бұрын
The upgrade is still a single piston brake caliper... just bigger... A bigger piston means more surface area (for the pistons, brake pads, and brake rotors)... which means better heat dissipation & braking performance 😁👍. This upgrade will feel exactly like your stock brakes when daily driving, but it will be more reliable on the track (when brake temps start to peak).

I’ve been doing some research on this exhaust and have seen some people talking about exhaust drone. How bad is it on this exhaust?
@LevelUpMechanics
@LevelUpMechanics 7 күн бұрын
I can only speak to my current setup, as I eliminated my catalytic converter... Without the cat, there is definitely drone noise at full throttle (although it is significantly less than the Spec-D exhaust). If you still have your catalytic converter, then drone issues will be minimal (if any). Overall, I'm very happy with the sounds that come from this exhaust, as it is definitely a big improvement when compared to my previous Spec-D exhaust system 😁👍.

The screen resolution is great 😁👍. I don't remember the resolution specs at the moment, but it's a major step up from the factory head unit. @LordBagdanoff the Si model is definitely the best platform to build on. There are more options to choose from, as far as aftermarket mods / upgrades are concerned. I'm building my R18 Honda Civic mainly because there aren't as many people out there who choose to go this route. 30 years ago, B-series motors were all the rage, and the D-series motors were never given the time of day... and now you can find tons of people who build strong D-Series motors all the time with great results! This is the same situation between the R-series motors & K-series motors. If you have the means to upgrade to an Si, I'd highly recommend it, as there are a ton of benefits to having an Si. I'm just following a different path to do something that most people don't pursue.

@LevelUpMechanics
@LevelUpMechanics 16 күн бұрын
The exhaust pipe can get close to a heat shield located in an area that is in front of the passenger rear tire area (underneath the vehicle). The good news is that the heat shield is flexible, and you can bend it out of the way with just your hands (be careful not to accidentally cut yourself on any sharp edges). I would recommend safely lifting up the rear end of the vehicle, then grab the exhaust piping (when cold) and gently rock the exhaust from side to side to visually see where it makes contract with the heat shield underneath. I hope this info helps! 😁👍

Hello 👋. You can absolutely use the stock tire size (265/65/R17) with the 4Runner TRD Pro wheels 😁👍. The stock tire size will also benefit you from running into any potential "rubbing" issues. My slightly oversized tires BARELY made any contact during full left / right turns (just a very light "brush" against the front fender liners). As long as your Tacoma "drives straight", you really shouldn't need to worry about any alignment issues. To put a long story short, you really shouldn't run into any problems when installing these wheels (especially if you want to keep using the stock tire size). These wheels are still holding up great and I would highly recommend them 😁👍.

Anyone try connecting the carlinkit tbox plus module to their OEM Tacoma head unit? I recently purchased one, and when I plugged it in, apps won't load up whether in car play or android auto.

I wish I had an answer for you, but unfortunately, I am not quite sure why it doesn't work. I hope you find your answer.

maybe someone can explain to me ? i have a civic 1.8 hatchback -07 and when i mounted an open air filter with a new pipe for the maf sensor i workt great the first day. But the second day the engine light turned on with fault code p0171. Can someone explain to me why i get that problem ?

The engine is receiving "unregistered" air from the intake (somewhere after the MAF sensor), causing the P0171 code. Another issue could also be that your MAF sensor is not oriented correctly (or may be installed "backwards").

does the R18 have real vtec?
@LevelUpMechanics
@LevelUpMechanics Ай бұрын
Yes and no. Most traditional VTEC engines use VTEC to "change the camshaft settings" in order to increase power / performance in the upper RPM's... Now, while the R18 does have a "VTEC function," it is designed to improve fuel economy instead of performance. VTEC on the R18 "kicks in" only when you're cruising steady at a constant speed in the low-to-mid RPM's to improve your gas mileage. I hope this info helps 😁👍
