Oh Amy. I haven’t made a sock in about a year. I’m so glad I found your video so that I could refresh my memory. And so adore your wonderful, Vivacious personality. Bonus that you make the socks exactly the same way that I do. I have missed you, my friend.

Failures are *far* more instructional than successes. Thank you Amy, for sharing your experiments with us.

Why would you choose to do the toe on the back of the cylinder?
@amythesockmaker11057 ай бұрын
With the toe on the front of the cylinder, the sock yarn pattern will come up over the toe and it will break on top of the foot. If you do the toe on the back of the cylinder, the pattern will come over the top of the foot and break on the bottom of the foot. It's purely aesthetic.

Amy, I have a question, what does it mean, when it is hard to crank? I tried to loosen the crank handle nut. Is it more that the tension is too tight? I can crank, but it is not easy.

The Big Snafu was WONDERFUL. I’ve been watching many many CSM videos made by marvellously talented crankers, but they all turn out perfect projects with no problems whatsoever. Novice crankers NEED to see that snafus happen to everyone - AND how to recover from them. Thank you Amy, thank you for not only publishing your snafu, but also for showing us how to recover from it in real time. This novice cranker is very grateful.

I’m so glad to see you’re back. I also live in CO. I live on a ranch on the plains. I have YET to get a sock to come off my CSM, but I can get them to come off my Passap. I would love to experience the joy you have when you can get one to come off correctly without too much cursing!
@pmason6111 ай бұрын
If I make the sock on my Passap, the rib needs to be closed. The toe does not need to be kitchenered. I dislike kitchenering so I'm thinking of doing the ribbing on my CSM, taking it off on waste yarn, hanging it on the Passap and finishing the rest of the sock with circular stockinette. What do you think?

Thank you so much for the link. In seeing that you’ve obviously mastered your Speedster, I have to confess that although I had mine for a number of years, I sold it to get a Tru-Knit machine. I could never get the ribber to obey me for two socks in a row. With the Tru-Knit I no longer have anxiety when taking the ribber off to peek at my lack of success. Thanks again for all you do.
