This isn't a bad video, but it's not really that helpful either. When you know how to do something intuitively, breaking it down in to steps other people can follow and giving facts you know is hard. I know I'm doing a bad job teaching when I try to give friends mini art lessons because there's so much that's become second nature. There's a lot of basic helpful info i feel is missing, like explaining apple, pear, hourglass, and straight figures. It's like when math teachers just do a problem on the board at you instead of explaining the steps & why some of the steps are. Anyway, your art is very cute! <3 Also, I know this video is 3 yrs old and you've probs improved a lot., but it's still in the top results for "how to draw fat people"

Unrelated to the topic, I dropped my jaw when I saw your speed drawing was a design of Eggman, my fav character! That’s awesome!!!!,!, 💙💙💙

Ok so this stinks of doomerism about the younger generations: the internet is going to allow people who arent professional media critics to state their opinions on works, and thats just going to happen. Now, i havent seen any evidence to suggest that media literacy isnt decreasing, but i would say its a very convenient tool, similar to slang, for millenials and even some gen Z to continue the cycle of doomering about younger generations. Sure maybe some people had bad takes and somr corporations decided to prioritise action over deep characters, thats just going to happen.

Hey you should talk about the male characters in shoujo, I read your comment about the response to a comment explaining how much they hate shoujo men, maybe you can talk about it.

Tbh the whole "body image" problem isn't exclusive to women. The majority of images of bodybuilders you see online are heavily photoshopped, post-workout, or both. To me, that's the issue with sexualized characters. Keeping it at least somewhat realistic is a good idea, on both ends of the spectrum. Also picking one piece to illustrate this concept is kind of a bad idea considering they've already got wacko proportions

Y'all over there in the north can't catch a break about the skin color of people? In here, Argentina, we just see it as "Oh, you're X skin color. Okay." and then move on, at least for the majority of us.

Yeah maybe Argentina isn't a good example. Argentina is without a doubt one of the most racist and xenophobic countries in South America. The argentinian football fans are notorious for chanting racist remarks everytime they get a chance

So many people here would soon realize that their issues here make absolutely no sense if they did themselves the service of clicking off and finding something they actually enjoy. Everything I've heard about One Piece mentioned here falls flat if you actually read/watch the show and actually enjoy it. Sanji's whole character is *meant* to be that way, Nami and Robin *do* have interesting fights, and if you're observant, you'd find out that giving characters equal screentime based on gender and not story importance immediately kills off any good sense of pacing when most characters are guys in the story. None of these points are necessarily false or wrong, but it's a disservice to one's self to watch a story and feel upset because it's focus isn't what aligns with your interests, I'm sure there are great shows out there that don't have these issues and hey, they're not my thing but nothing stops them from being just as good if not better if it's to your liking. Not everything popular has to align to your own preferences, most of my favorite shows/games are niche and obscure and that's fine.

I don't take requests from strangers unless they peak my interest, and I only draw when I get a cool or cute idea. My one obligation is to put effort into what I do. This video is clearly not for me but your avatar is so cute that I wanna watch anyway.

I've seen lots of prospectives from ppl and the art lore, I think those videos might have a better like view because they dug deeper abt the artist etc, as that comment section had a great POV of it.. Maybe this comment section needs to do that from reading a few of these, js considering not saying everyone has to lol I'll give an example from a comment from one of those I seen, ppl are somewhat hating that her skin is darker than her color palette as in some would consider her (or they? Idk) making her hair a bit darker That's all I wanted to say Oki baii

How a female is handled ignored is different than a poorly created female from jump..for example ino is poorly created and handled poorly who doesn't change at all when she should sakura is a poorly created character handled horrible in part 1 ok at times in shippuden but people see her getting stronger as being well written or her doing more than nothing as development when she started out horrible while hinata is a good character at her base level and during her first fight but handled wrong in shippuden and ignored too much to be a great minor character...

yeah this is why i have a very prominent fear of creating ocs that are human. i create ocs that are object heads/monsters/animalistic very well and i think i can make ocs with disabilities and different body shapes pretty easily, but when it comes to race, i completely crumble because i am so fucking afraid of being cancelled or accidentally being racist that i physically cannot do it. artists that say i am PHYSICALLY obligated to draw poc, fat characters, and disabled people make me want to just quit art because of the thousands of basement dwellers on the internet that will call you racist or ableist or fatphobic or whatever just because you drew something slightly inaccurate. people lose jobs over that shit. i dont want my college professor discovering a tweet i made years ago that recieved backlash just because i drew proportions slightly wrong and deciding to cut me from the course or recommending me for expulsion. im so fucking tired of people like this, god DAMN!!!

I kinda suck at drawing ethnic features because: 1. Sometimes people of other ethnicities have ethnic features from other ethnicities. 2. I don't go around staring at people all day. Maybe if i found a reference online i could figure it out but i also have trouble with details so yeah.

"artists MUST know jow to draw alk the things" the only disabilities i know how to draw are blindness, anxiety and adhd, and i have a leg disabled sister- this technically probes my point, yes i can draw black people, BUT that doesn't mean i eont have trouble cus i tried drawing curly and coily hair before which is when i learned that i suck at it, ppl should stop assuming artists can draw ANYTHING, it takes time to learn to draw and the same thing for drawing specific features, youre a none artist yapping about dumb shit so stfu honestly.
