Being a runner, this is the first time that I have seen an athlete doing exercises to maintain their feet in socks ?!! What's the point exactly other than continuing to make you sweat and not letting the skin air out? Absolutely none

I ran 3 miles every day since I was 16 and ran cross country in high school. After 30 years of that mindset and same to more distance my knees are not what they are anymore, but I still walk 3-5 miles a day at the age of 49.

Straps boys. Just use the damn straps. It'll allow you to lift more weight. Do as many warm up reps without, to build grip strength, then use the straps for your work sets.

Altras are the jam for the times you need a bit of cushion but still want a wide toe box and zero drop.

The problem is this: Regular people who are in the military (Non-professional athletes), as they've mentioned, do not have the time or money to maintain peak performance and recovery. If this is the case, then their training has to be mitigated in order to not produce negative effects when they are performing physically on the job. For example, maybe we don't do as many sets or reps when we are hitting the weights... if you want strength endurance with load bearing capabilities, then perhaps only train for strength (low volume) in the weight room and then train for the endurance, separately, with moderate weight, an 80 lb ruck suck for example. Doing crazy sets and reps with high weight on the bar may translate well to load bearing activities like a 5-6 hour march, but is only going to translate if you can have adequate rest and recovery, which in most cases, people cannot obtain.

Do you recommend any brands in particular in the barefoot style of shoe I’m a 4E wide foot and really struggle to find shoes for all aspects of life I’m currently in a 4E asics and they’re horrible for any weight bearing exercises, they’re great for walking and running.

I've also seen the bansed swing, pulling from the back side as well as the dynamic cable pull with a banded or cable push with the other hand. The weighted carry, zercher, and power snatch/jerk are prime movements for most athletic sports, especially mma. The real trick is finding the goldilocks zone.

Really needed this. Been lazy tying my vans and I think my bilateral plantar pain is coming from that. Still training in my vivos, game changer. My laces ripped off to motus flex pair though need to try another model. Probably was too aggressive on tightening them with the knit design

EXACTLY!!!!! DANCERS, ESPECIALLY BALLET DANCERS HAVE TO KEEP THEIR ANKLES AND FEET STRONG AND PLIABLE TO BE ABLE TO JUMP LEAP LAND HOING "THRU THE FOOT" ....ROLL THRU THE FOOT. LAND TOES, BALL OF THE FOOT THEN THE HEEL. THEN REVERSE TO GO UP. I noticed D.J.'s smooth strong walk when shooting and approaching the target the other day. VERNON ur attention to detail incredible!!!!

Danner trail 2650 (I think that’s the number?) they make a gortex one. Pretty wide toe box and super comfortable. Not necessarily warm but will keep you dry. If you don’t mind more of a boot, the mountain 600 is good too and offers a bit more warmth

I need some help. I have bear foot shoes and will where them when I am home. While I’m at work I have to have a safety toe leather boot. What can I do to help? Is there a bear foot boot out there? I have foot pain daily.
@vernongriffith45 күн бұрын
Vivobarefoot makes a boot but it is definitely not a safety toe boot. In that situation you may have to find a insole that gives you some bounce from that rigid shoe. The safety steel toe boot is a hard work around for sure.

Vernon, I'm preparing for German Military Officer Assessment, which of your programs would you recommend?
@vernongriffith45 күн бұрын
It depends on how far out you are from assessment. The GBRS Performance Program is my best for tactical performance and longevity but may not be the best for your selection so it would be important to have something tailored to the calisthenics and running required for that assessment. If you can add the additional work to the gbrs program, great, or you can build a base with the gbrs program and as it gets close to assessment switching to something more specific for that test
@JanLayneCobain4 күн бұрын
@@vernongriffith4Thanks for your reply. The selection is a combination of short sprints with pushups in between, a chin up hang (max time) and 3km bike. Currently I pass the tests, but lack of core muscles, general strength and stamina for better results. And additionally I am 2m tall with 102kg (bit belly fat but more visceral fat, too little muscles) which increases the challenge for me. Would you still recommend the gbrs program with added calistenics or another program, the athletic or the bodyweight one?
