Great video Ricky, did the same job on mine, indeed learnt the hard way i should of marked the position of the window retainers ..took lots of trial and error to get it lined up correctly again lol. Two screws that secure the two parts together between the housings one of them is a nightmare to get back and trying not to damge the paint. Fiddly job ! main dealer and most indys would replace complete unit! Happy i saved £2k too!

Did you take the opportunity to 3d scan the mirror post? I'm sure a CNC machining company could machine those out of billet for a hell of a lot less than a replacement. Would it be worth having the facility available for quick turnaround future repairs?

This is how I fixed mine 5 years ago when I found out they cost about £3k to replace… this was before there were any videos on it! Bought a donor mirror from eBay but it was the 10p clip broken in my case. Still working as of today!
