Long range hunting isn't ethical unless you're starving to death, especially on a deer that you could have stalked and got closer. It's lazy and irresponsible.

If it was a completely frontal shot. Doesnt look like it was the best of shooting. If the deer was almost facing with a hard quartering to shot, the round should have it the lungs.

The bullet had a complete pass through at that distance and exited the opposite shoulder. Can’t say for sure what would happen but would like to say it would make it through the shoulder

Knockdown power isnt a thing. It was the black magic that cavemen referred to when they saw hydrostatic shock. You could shoot a 300 RUM at that distance and it wouldnt knock the animal over with that placement. 1700fps is within the expansion window of an ELD-X. That is a very clean kill
