Aerospace engineer here ...foc isn't about momentum, it's about flight stability/accurwcy which is proportional to your center of mass distance from the fletching. Further means more stable. Mass/momentum are what help penetration. Good news is....increasing tip weight increases foc....which increases penetration and accuracy

I came to make a similar comment. There’s a whole bunch of misinformation in this video that it would take a book to address.

Awesome video for sure. I’ve noticed that the heavier arrows do better and hit harder than light and fast. Seems to be true so far

Appreciate the great info! Those arrows do look sick!!

Axis are heavy. I think RIP TKO is the gold standard. With Iron Will components they're hard to beat.

5mm axis are heavy, he’s shooting the 4mm. They’re pretty light.

100% agreed with the RIP TKO's. Awesome arrow, but you should check out podium archer HIT/collar system. Basically the same as ironwill, but cheaper.

@@briansteele1378 I’ll do that. Thanks

What about video tips for shooting longer distances? Aside from the obvious practice.

Absolutely would buy muley freak arrows!

Can I please make a suggestion for you guys…your videos are so good…some of the best 4K on KZbin…but please use lighted nocks so we can see the arrow flight….please

It’s been on my list.

@@MuleyFreak I have done a lot of testing…I think Halo is the most accurate…but not the brightest…but sufficient…and red is brighter than their green…which is odd.

Maybe right about the human factor. There are many that can hold steady enough to put arrows in the same hole. Ever watch the pro shooters at the Vegas event? Here’s the thing about straightness. Assuming one has checked the arrows and correctly found the spine mark and nocked them where they come off the string the same a straight.001 has less deviation and a more repeatable arrow paradox than a less straight arrow. There is less “wobble” because a straight one deviates less off the center axis. Like throwing a straight spear versus one with a bow in it. The farther down range a .006 or .008 one flies the deviation in straightness ( wobble, though microscope) has effected the flight path from when it left the string. Sure, 99% of archers probably couldn’t see a difference but there IS a difference. A huge part of the equation is because very very few have superb form and execution. Those that punch the thumb button or slap that trigger or choke hold the bow etc etc will never shoot well enough to know any difference in arrow straightness.

Best more budget friendly arrow I'd say would be the victory rip (not the tko) they come with stainless steel inserts from the factory, good gpi, and durable. I'd go with .003, easton is junk eleven match grade, victory .003 are straighter and if you have a short draw length even better, I shot a 26" arrow and cut from both sides. There straighter than my axis match grades and that's a fact I own both, along with rip tko's and sirius archery Apollo's. Learn how to build your own arrows because the shop is just trying to get you out fast, thwy act like they carw about you they in fact only want your money. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR SETUP AS MUCH AS YOU DO. Really though shot whatever you want that's your best option, but do recommend on learning how to build your own, and upgrade aluminum inserts to stainless or titanium if available. I will say this I spend alot on arrows every year ans easton will not get another f*cking dollar from me, after these "match grades" being the worst arrows I've tried to date, 1 yes 1 out of 12 was straight, 3 may have been in the .003 range and the rest thwy should be embarrassed for letting those leave the factory. Not sure if I just got a bad batch but since no would would replace or even so much as say sorry about that, I'm done with them. Victory and sirius archery only for now, going to try some black eagles after this 2024-25 season.

No! Speed is not more important! I mean it is but only insofar as it allows for a heavier arrow to shoot! We want no chance of a failed pass thru!

Arrow straightness is just a selling point to get more money from your wallet. A human cannot hold a bow steady enough to tell the difference between a .003 - .008 straightness arrows. Your not locking the bow in a vise where its rock solid !!! Your movement while trying to aim and hold the pin on target is never going to be steady enough to notice a few thousands of an inch straightness difference in arrow shafts. Facts !!!

And also, the arrow spins which mitigates straightness related issues. He's got sponsors, which is why he's suggesting the more expensive kit
