I'm using the chair when I leave the house. I'm grateful it's not full time as I live in a very inaccessible apartment. When I moved in I was was totally on feet time. Now I get anywhere from 20 min (total) on a not great day to upwards of maybe a hour, broken up. I'm very glad to have found you. I've gotta get some exercise that is more than arm training. Before the car accident I was in the gym 3-4 days a week. When you were saying 'don't fall off, don't fall off...' I was chuckling. Mine is 'don't fall over, don't fall over. Because of my knees and my hips, sometimes I'm not terribly stable on my feet. If I moved my foot the wrong way, just a couple of inches the 'wrong way' it can throw my whole body off. That happened tonight standing at the counter. All I did was move my heel - slightly - so I could put something in the trash. My equilibrium 'shifted' and I was thinking 'don't fall over' as I was simultaneously looking for something to grab onto. Oy. So I'm gonna give this a whirl. I've gotta start slow, and that's ok... Cheers.

Hi there! I've been following your videos for many years and always found them really helpful. But a few weeks ago I pulled my latismus dorsi muscles on both sides but much worse on the left. It's so painful and it has affected my arm movement, triceps and grip. I'm in bed at the moment and waiting on an u!ultrasound. I'm assuming this injury is pretty common. Have you ever come across it before? I'm a C6 but this injury has made me more like a C5.

I'm done giving my money to these therapist that just want to rush their job and get stuff done instead of educating and sharing a little bit of their knowledge to make us exercise better you make it seem easy because you're in a chair yourself I've been in a wheelchair since 2006 and been trying to find a routine that I could follow every day to get better at my daily stuff that I need to do on my own for when I don't have no one and I have to say after doing your workouts and the stick workout is my favorite their stuff that I could not do without using the stick and now I can and I'm getting stronger and these challenges I love them too dude you're the man Big Ups to you cuz you're doing it and all people could do is respect😊❤

The main thing is for time efficiency because you can do your session in a much shorter time frame, however it does increase the intensity and complexity of a workout which is why I say it's not for beginners. With these fitness explained videos I don't want to go into massive detail but enough for someone who's just beyond that beginner level looking for more information. I'll bare your comments in mind for upcoming videos (I have quite a few planned and some already filmed)

This is soo helpful. I love that I’m able to do an exercise that’s calming and focused on feeling uplifted and good in my body. Being disabled you can feel really defeated sometimes with exercise, especially when most exercise is made to be about treadmills and gym memberships. It’s nice to get a good stretch and end up feeling good and not in pain because I’ve pushed myself too hard. Plus it really helps with anxiety. Thank you!

thanks, bud, for the ideas. I have one arm I had more nerve damage. So, right side is very strong C7 with some finger hand movement. The left I can't even rotate the wrist and forearm, so I have to do completely different workouts for each arm. And the best way to work them together for me is simple lean over and push up real slow. Make each push up take 30 to 40 seconds, to get good time tension and feel it. Or just other body weight lifts. I hope to add bands soon to try focus on triceps.

Im a wheelchair user but my shoulder injuries are mostly from throwing newspapers for many years and a cervical spine injury (i compensated with my shoulders). Physical therapy helped for 15 years until recently. Now i think its torn beyond PT. Im worried about being able to transfer myself after surgery

I don’t go to the gym but if I want to do any physical activity I need to estimate how much energy it will take out of me and whether or not I have more urgent things to get done. When I do, I have to find a workout that won’t immediately render me unable to move at all, allow enough rest time, make sure I’m prepared for if I pass out and the inevitable factor that despite all this planning, I’ll still be out of service for a week at times 😅

Depends on the exercise. I have very good brakes which solves most of the issues but if I need extra help I put a weight plate either in front or behind my wheel (also depends on angle)

Do you have any wheelchair videos for a cardiac session using the ski erg? Are there different variations for working your muscles?
@AdaptToPerform
@AdaptToPerform Ай бұрын
I do but they are all currently on my membership site. There I have a group of programs called skierg sessions. Which is three volumes of 8 weeks each. I may in the future pop one of the workouts from that program on here. But it's not currently in my near future lineup of videos as I have other things to focus on first.

Fun review, quite honest. However 4 years later the new plane friendly lightweight Power Chairs are way superior. Seems it has similar issues with Smart Drive... Hard and expensive to repair (deliberately so). On a larger scale, but still under 22" wide are mobility scooters that can carry groceries, even a passenger. Many varieties, but the triporters can do 20 mph (restricted) and still turn on a small area. The hand controls are very user friendly as well, and of course some models are stable even with 500 pounds. It pays to shop around 😊
