I'm in line with having an advisor handle growing my finance, and I'm quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, started full time job at 19, purchased first home 28, got laid-off work 36 during covid-outbreak, and at once consulted a reputable advisor in order to stay afloat. Can you explain how the interest is calculated. Because I have a savings account with 4.30% interest and made a big deposit in the month of August but the interest doesn't add up. I multiplied what I deposited by 4.30%. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey, so what you'll want to do is multiply the account balance by the interest rate (expressed as a decimal). For example if you deposit $10,000 in a savings account that earns 4.30% interest per year. The formula would be: $10,000 X 0.043 = $430 Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊

I just recently got that one. Know that they have two- the platinum savings has the highest rate (5.05% APY currently) but $5,000 min. There’s another one without a minimum and slightly slower interest rate. They have great telephone customer service but their app is very bare bones and transfers always take at least 5 business days. They do have mobile check deposit, and an e-checking account you can link (no physical checks, only a debit card). All in all, OK for parking an emergency fund you’ll never touch, but not amazing.

Hi. I've been a loyal subscriber to your channel since the beginning. I asked you a question, but u didn't bother to reply, which was disappointing. I asked if you could tell me why my credit score dropped 23 points when I used only 1m$1, 370 of $65,000 available credit. That's way below 30% credit utilization. Any idea what I did wrong? I've always paid my bill before the statement closing date, but this one time I paid it 2 days after the closing date, but still way before the due date. Please advise.

Hey, sorry about that. I get a lot of comments, and I sometimes don't get to all of them, especially now when I'm in the middle of a full home remodel and moving. But to answer your question, based on what you told me, the drop could have been because of a sudden credit utilization increase or because of inaccurate information on your credit report. Some other reasons why your score may drop are the following: Late or missed payments New hard inquiries Credit limit decrease Credit card/account closure Anyway, I suggest looking over your credit report once more and making sure the information on their is accurate, but based on my experience, I'm pretty sure your score dropped because of a sudden credit utilization increase. Firstly, she can’t possibly respond to every question she gets about individual circumstances, and secondly, she is not a financial advisor or your personal financial therapist. There are a myriad of reasons why someone’s credit score may drop and a youtube channel comments section is not going to get you a definitive answer. Next- even if your utilization is quite low, they may have noticed a difference in this instance, causing the change. Or it could be completely unrelated as Dayana so politely explained- you should always check your full report to make sure it’s not due to fraud, most importantly. If it’s just the utilization for a month, should be temporary.
