Please define the audio volume levels 🙏 it's pretty annoying that your voice volume is competing with the outside noise. So having to turn up my volume to hear you then you transition to a full blown loud transition soundtrack like the one in 7:56 is pretty unpleasant 😬

Hey, I saw your video. How has the X5 been so far? any major issues post warranty?

For the 3 years I owned it there was only one electrical issue that was fixed under warranty. I did not own it outside of the 4 year 50k mile factory warranty so I can't speak to experience post warranty

IMHO some features should APPARATUS be accessed via buttons e.g. stereo volume, heard and cool, .... The speedometer should always be analogue... Inn something if the sunlight will wash out a digital stash...

I’m curious if you have compared ride quality of your X5M Competition to the X5M 60i. I know they they say the 60i is a better luxury ride but it would be interesting to know how much better. I really want to get the competition model as I’d want to occasionally go to the track but I also love our family road-trips and don’t want to regret driving a jarring feel every bump type vehicle either.
@MatthewBrownVlog6 ай бұрын
The M60i is a lot more floaty, which I wasn't a fan of. Definitely more comfortable but driving you feel way less connected to the road. The ride is stiff in the X5M Comp but (I'm guessing because of the taller ride height) you don't feel every bump in the road like I do in my M3/M4.
@augustusoakes46714 ай бұрын
I agree- the full M is completely different- so planted. And the handling is ridiculously amazing. On paper the m60i and full m seem close, but they are totally different animals.

Mabe this is indicative of daily driving in the US... As I live in Europe, a daily driver video would be discussing fuel consumtion when locked in traffic. Exaust sound when locked in trafic, between pedestrians. Confort while going over city speed bumps etc

Thanks for breaking in your 2024 M4 Competition xDrive for me. I took your M4 for a nice road trip last week from KC. Had to detour a bit to Stockton MO to avoid flooding but once SE of Stockton It was all curvy and hilly back roads to Eureka Springs. Then I spent a day tearing up the curvy and hilly roads SE of Eureka. Decided it was probable time I leave Arkansas after that ride. Then worked my way north of Table Rock Lake to Camdenton MO on more curvy and hilly roads. I ran the piss out of the car a lot of the time since could go for miles and miles in multiple areas with no traffic. It was like my private race track. I thought I may need to stop for a pit stop to change out the tires but they held up well. LOL. This car with 503 HP give me goose bumps when you push it! Generally need to back off pretty quick. I kept it in xDrive 4WD mode all the time. This car accelerates like a rocket and you can feel those front tires grabbing hard since steering becomes real sensitive when they are pulling hard. I have always been a V8 guy but I am impressed with this little 3.0L straight-six that goes to 7,500 rpm. It sounds like a race car when you wind it up. Your X5 with 617 HP V8 must be borderline crazy. The nice thing about this car once I got on Interstates heading back towards KC, the car becomes passive and pretty much drives itself and even makes lane changes for you. It is a waste to drive this car as a daily driver without ever pushing it, but it does either job very well. So many owners probably never push it like I did. Likely because it scares the piss out of them if they press the pedal hard...

You took perfect care of the car. Only thing I have noticed not working is the drivers seat does not move forward when you pull backrest forward. The passenger seat works properly. Did you notice that? No big deal. I will have dealer check it out when I go in for service. Maybe they will cover it under warranty. Only other thing is a minor scratch on upper left side of the gas fill lid. I have done two iDrive updates since purchase so system is now on 2024-03-27 version 8.5. I am thinking about coding out the Startup disclaimer message and turn off BMW's IconicSounds. From what I read, I believe this car uses IconicSounds. My M340XI had option to turn them off but no option in this car that I have found.
@MatthewBrownVlog6 ай бұрын
When I had it I hadn't had any issues witht he driver seat moving forward. That would have been a big deal for me, because that was very handy for making it easier to put the kids in the back! I did notice the scratch by the gas lid. I guess I would've thought the dealership would have touched that up before they sold it but I guess not

Traded a Cadillac 5 Blackwing for my Raptor 37 a month ago. I just found that having a sports car (sedan) that will do 200mph was a bit absurd in today’s world of Urban sprawl; even here in the Suburbs. The Raptor may not be the most practical, but mountain & beach trips, plus I can actually use the power to greater extent than a sports car. Same color here … Avalanche is the best IMO; fairly easy to keep clean.

Hi Matt. I am from the KC area. I recently bought this car used with about 2,300 miles on it. You saved me about $10,000 versus buying same car new from dealer. I actually ordered a 2025 M4 with manual transmission but this car was a couple thousand cheaper for a much more expensive car. I had a M340xi so know what it is like to drive with all the features. To go with a manual transmission, you give up a lot of the cool driving features. Besides, the automatic transmission shifts faster than I could ever swing the shifter. I have it all set up now for my personal preferences and had the windows all tinted with 20% shade. It looks Bad! Volcanic Red was not my first choice but it has grown on me with along with the front grilles many do not like. I am not out to race but have been know to drive aggressively and wanted something new and fun to drive before Biden and company screw up ICE vehicles more than already. I have a new Yukon 6.2L for winter driving and ski trips to Colorado so will not be driving this car in bad weather. I had an old 2003 400hp Jaguar that was still nice but was ready for something newer and different. I am tall and the short doors of the M340xi placed my body behind the door pillar making it difficult to peel myself in-and-out of. Thanks for taking nice care of my new car! Apparently, the three year service package built into new BMW auto purchases do not transfer to subsequent owners. BMW just pockets this sum at the expense of their customers if they sell early. With the xDrive and competition wheels and tires, one needs to be alert for potholes. The back tires do not have much sidewall height to adsorb hard bumps. I do not mind the firm ride. If I want otherwise, I will hop in the Yukon. I generally hold onto vehicles for a long time so do not plan to sell this car for many years. Freak Brandon!
@paulghilino29069 ай бұрын
Like mentioned above, my purchase of this car is my way of flipping the bird to Biden and his regulators. But below I see various comments about driving in the KC area. I own a Harley too. There is a lot of great riding and driving just outside and all around the KC area. Hills and curves on winding roads a plenty. Head a little further SE and you get into the Ozarks and Arkansas. I have been in crowded area like the East and West coast and anymore Texas. I always feel great relief when I get back into the wide open spaces of Kansas, or nearby states, where you can see for miles and miles and have no congestion.

Hi Paul! Congrats on buying the M4 and I'm glad you're enjoying it! Such a great car and I'm glad it went to a good home. Like you the red wasn't my first choice but when I saw it in person that sold it for me, it looks so good on that car. And yes it's well cared for. I added a ceramic coat and it never saw an automatic car wash while it was in my possession. Enjoy! And I saw your comment on all the great driving spots around KC and I'd have to agree there's a lot and yea my favorite is probably headed further down SE into the Ozarks. I love that drive down to Branson, I always look forward to that, such enjoyable roads, especially in a BMW! Cheers!

Are you able to drive the X5 thru the smaller garage door or is it kinda tight?

It fits ok if I fold the mirrors in. It's a little tight, but it does work

@@MatthewBrownVlog thanks for the reply. I got the standard 8ft door and the M40 goes through mirrors out with some inches to spare, so was wondering about the X5 being wider.

I had a 2021 BMW X5MC and changed it to a 2024 BMW X5 M60i. I added every available option and package you can get with the car. Overall, I love the M60i better than my X5MC. It was cheaper, the ride quality is much better, it has the S68 engine and I am very happy with it. In fact, I love the Integral Active Steering, which I couldn't get with the X5MC.
@MatthewBrownVlog10 ай бұрын
Nice! Glad you're enjoying it. From my '23 to the '24 X5M the ride quality is noticeably improved, but for ride comfort I'm sure still no where near the M60i

You recommend buying or leasing
@MatthewBrownVlog10 ай бұрын
Typically leasing is a better deal if you switch cars often, buying is better if you want to keep something long term. Also depends on the market, with the declining values on used cars now I'd imagine leasing would be a better option.

FYI, the snow tire swap out has to do with temps also, if it’s consistently close to freezing your summer tires may crack, if you running all seasons then you should be fine.
