Thank you for sharing. I just went through the same experience. Cobalt bits - nothing, welding a nut - nothing. But 20 mins of patience with the tile bit and an easy out produced the result. When the tile bit changed its tone I knew we had reached a threshold, I tapped in a Bosch easy out and a 5/16" F150 differential bolt that had been broken for 15 years emerged into the sunlight. Key tips - clean the hole with brake cleaner, then apply cutting fluid. Drill for 1-2 minutes until no more swarf appears. Clean the hole and bit with brake cleaner, re-apply cutting fluid, drill for 1-2 minutes. Repeat until you have a hole deep enough to insert a quality easy out. Top result !!

How do you put the car in top dead center I noticed the old post. Hopefully you can respond to me. I watched the whole video. I appreciate everything you did. I want to do it that way. Ordered the kitchen and everything that you ordered as well. I just need to know how to make sure you got it. Top dead center or what you called the mill big way
@biddy98gst
@biddy98gst 9 күн бұрын
You can put a long screwdriver into the front driver side cylinder after removing the spark plugs and watch for it to be high up when the cam lock plates line up. Essentially top dead center does not matter much as long as the plates fit the motor is in top dead center. Once you have the cam locks on and chains removed if the crank timing mark is slightly off you can move it to place before installing the chains to eliminate the stretch advancement

Hey, thanks for response back. Yes, I did that with the screwdriver into the first cylinder but the problem I’m having is that my crankshaft dot is not lining up with the other dot the pan but I’m able to put the plates on there so do that got a lineup with the other dot

You said you jump time one tooth how did you fix it?
@biddy98gst
@biddy98gst 5 күн бұрын
I got the plates lined up and it was like 1/4 inch from the dot on the crank, I took the chains off with the plates on and rotated the crank to the dot it was like a tooth off. If it’s only a little off you can rotate the crank to position with the chains off it’s free from the heads at that point. You just don’t want to rotate it more then like a few teeth

@@biddy98gst when I rotate the motor to the 5oclock position the cams in the back ain’t flat. When the cam in 1st stage the sprocket looks to be at least the 3 o’clock position… so that a few more than a couple teeth jumped. So how to fix that if possible thanks again for your response

I bet the oil pressure sensor is not the only thing that has been leaking down there. Might as well replace the whole oil filter housing because it's most likely leaking as well. Oh and replace it with an all aluminum one. The composite ones are junk.
@wasphunter7131
@wasphunter7131 17 күн бұрын
Sadly the customer only wanted the pressure switch the filter housing was a few hundred extra. But I totally agree I’ve replaced like 5 filter housings on challengers with the same 3.6

If this video is intended to show us how to do this job it didn't work. The video is too shaky, you're moving too fast, almost as if you're showing off and you're really not explaining anything. You didn't really show us how to get to the bolts on the driver side. I'm not even going to continue I'm just gonna say that this is a hot mess.

This is a PERFECT video for those who are trying to bring old DSM's back to life(like ME!). I'm wondering if anyone has done this to a 1g?? Is the rackNpinion a similar model? I'm working on a 1992 at the moment. And I'd MUCH rather stay in my garage and do this, than go fishing in a salvage yard, looking for a "possibly good" manual rack. Fantastic tutorial man... Thank you!

Dude you sound high, what kind of weed are you smoking in Chicago? You said you use a 2G cylinder head on a 1G engine block so how did you manage to bolt it on to the block. You know the 1G engine block use the big 12mm x 1.25 head studs vs the 11mm x 1.25 what the 2G engine block use. The only way you can get the 2G head to fit is to open the holes up for the bigger 12mm x 1.25 studs on the 2G 7bolt head
@biddy98gst
@biddy98gst 2 ай бұрын
Yep the headstands are bored 1mm over. The head is o ringed as well. The 6 bolt block was less prone to crank walk and has larger mains. The 2g head flows better. It’s actually a very common motor build on 2gs
@biddy98gst
@biddy98gst 2 ай бұрын
The easy way to see I’m not lying is I’m running the 2g crank sensor not the 1g cas. The fact I need the kiggly crank trigger adaptor proves the block does not have a crank trigger sensor proving it’s a 6 bolt
