Dr Richard David in Sherman Oaks, CA performed my procedure. Personally, I would stay away from Rezum - although it depends on your own personal prostate anatomy. If you have a large median lobe like me, Rezum would not be appropriate. Best of luck!
@starlordnetzero96333 күн бұрын
@@LowerMyPressureThank you. I do have the larger medial lobe. One more question in your opinion, if I fly in for the procedure from the Boise area would you recommend staying in the LA area near the doctor for a week, two weeks or ? How often did you need to have follow up visits? I have not found aquablation in Boise the closest is Idaho Falls two hour drive away. LA may be better as I am from the Valley and have a son in Glendale.
@LowerMyPressure3 күн бұрын
@@starlordnetzero9633 It's too bad they don't have an Aquablation trained doctor in your area. They usually schedule your first follow up in two weeks - although you could probably have the follow up at your own urologist (they just do a flow test and ultrasound to see if you are voiding your bladder okay) You will have urgency/frequency for the first couple of weeks and they won't want you to lift more than 10 lbs for a month. Those factors may be a hassle for you, if you're on the road. Dr. David is about a 25-30 minute drive from Glendale. The hospital is about another ten minutes from his office. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions that you don't want to discuss in a public forum. Take care!

Probably not a good idea. The idea of the exercise is to not interrupt the breathing pace for at least 10-15 minutes at a time. When you are outside, it is more difficult to maintain that constant pace.

Hi Joel, Just wanted to let you know I had a successful Aquablation 4 weeks ago. Recovery was smooth and took a lot less time than I expected. Your video was spot, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision to do it (over other options). I encourage anyone considering Aquablation to watch your detailed review. My life has changed and feel like I did in my 20s lol. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thanks Phil. I'm so glad you are doing well. You'll notice now how much BPH had previously affected your life. Now I can do road trips, movies, sporting events without worrying about my BPH symptoms. It's very "freeing" and gives you back your confidence. Now, if we stop at a rest stop or a coffee shop, I'm in and out of the restroom in no time, compared to hesitancy and worrying about not being able to fully void my bladder before my Aquablation. Give yourself about 6 months for your bladder to adjust to the "new normal" and frequency will fade into the background. Congrats on the "new you!"

My typical at rest breathing rate was already ~8 Br/minute & my BP is often on the low side. I can be relaxed & distracted after exercise but atill take 5 to 6 hrs to get HR back to <20bpm above morning RHR. HRR maybe 30 to get to ~110bpm a few minutes after exercise then drops ~5bpm per hr. My cardiovascular been checked & no problems (no diagnosis), echo, ECG, halter monitor, CT-angiogram, walk test. Not anxious, not hyperventilating (more like hypoventilating or central apnoea). Sleep study lacked enough sleep to be conclusive but aponeas were mostly hypopneas & not obstructive/restrictive. CPAP even low settings just filled my hiatus hernia stomach with air, symptoms of over breathing & too much effort required to breathe against it (why do they set it so rapid & deep?) when I tried to relax (30mins per attempt, no sleep with it possible).
@joelmiller31747 ай бұрын
Unfortunately we can't comment on medical diagnosis. Sleep studies in the lab aren't the best because it's difficult to fall asleep under such conditions. I personally use a non-contact sleep monitor called "Somnofy" but they are on the expensive side (around $400 or so). I think some of the better fitness monitors such as FitBit, etc. have a sleep monitor capabilities. Monitoring sleep is a great way to see how your body is doing and how you recover from stressful situations and illness. Best of luck!

I had laser prostate surgery in 2014 when I was 50, it's growing back, I've always had BPH with a high PSA, and I'm probably going to need surgery again within the next couple of years, for a year before my surgery I couldn't urinate at all, I used a cath several times a day, everyday, I did have the ejaculating deal, but, I really never had any issue with orgasms, or erections, another thing, I only had blood like that night after my surgery, I was released that day after my surgery, my catheter actully came out on it's on from the pressure, but after hearing all this think I will do laser again.

Yeah, just about everyone seems to have problems about ten years down the road. I almost went with HoLEP instead of Aquablation because they pretty much remove the entire prostate and I probably wouldn't need to worry about regrowth but the sexual side effect profile (RE) was a non starter for me. I think they will improve PAE and that might be the way to go if I need any additional procedures in the future. Best of luck!

@Fidelis117 Жыл бұрын
In my experience (so please do your own investigation with this before just taking my word for it), this depends on how long you maintain this practice. I found this program after my doctor noted that my BP was 153/103. I'm overweight and don't eat right, so she gave me the option of making lifestyle changes to lower it before being diagnosed with high BP and starting medication. I bought a home BP monitor and began seeing what worked to lower it. When I used this program at first, my BP would drop from the 150s/90s to 130s/80s. After 10 minutes or so, it would return to the higher numbers. However, after doing this for a month, I noticed that my BP was starting lower (I record my BP twice a day using an app called "BP Journal: Blood Pressure Log"). It was starting in the 140s/80s and would lower to high 120s/low 80s. Still, after 10 minutes or so, it would return to the 140s/80s. I did this program every day, twice a day, for 3 months and eventually, my BP was in the low 120s/high 70s consistently. After the breathing, it would lower to 110 - 116/70s. Again, after 10 minutes or so it would return to the 120s/70s. Still, this was much better than where I was when I started so I was happy. I am now restarting the twice a day regimen after 4 months of not monitoring my BP or doing these breathing exercises as my BP is once again in the high 140s/90s. So, yes, it works if done consistently but (from my anecdotal experience) if you stop for a long period of time, it will return to the pressures you started with unless there is some other significant change. Again, this was just my experience. Your mileage may vary.

It pays to keep in mind that the salt industry is absolutely huge. Like Big Sugar, Big Beef, Big Poultry, and other huge industries, they will have you believe that you need more of whatever they are selling. Salt, it has been discovered, makes people hungry. You can look this up online. Experiments with rats and salt showed that mice which ate salted chow became obese. Astronauts that were part of similar experiments said that on salt, they were hungrier. So we point to sugar, fat, calories, carbs and everything else as to why we are fat. Almost no one is looking at salt. The reasons salt make us fat is complicated and all mixed in with chemistry. But it appears that salt has a love affair with cortisol, the hormone that lays down fat. There are other mechanisms at work, also, when you eat salt. Think about this. If salt were taken out of every single thing a fat person ate for the course of a year, do you think they would lose weight? You betcha. Because who sits around and OD's on "bland" food? No one. They want that salt and sugar high. But sugar alone doesn't do it. Salt and sugar together light up all the bulbs in our brain. People eat a whole bag of potato chips. If they had zero salt on them, how much would they eat? It takes the "fun" out of food, and just makes it food again. And keep in mind that how much our body "needs" and how much is recommended are very different. We "need" between 200-500mg of salt. Most natural foods have sodium in them already, if you look at the charts. Very small amounts. Fish has a lot, so does celery. We get enough with a varied diet without adding salt or buying foods with added salt.
