Alan....if only I were a rich man...lol I had one of these back in the late 80s with a Kahler trem and sunburst,they are really good guitars, I could practically carry it by the tremolo bar and it would stay in tune.thanks Alan,keep up the great work man.

I own one of these. I also owned the Lifeson version (with the piezo) The Floyd Rose is just impossible to make it an enjoyable experience . It’s way too finicky. I have a PRS P22 Trem (directly comparable to the Lifeson) The PRS trem system is far superior. I appreciate Gibson’s attempt at updating their 60 yr design, but the Floyd spoils it. Go for the PRS instead.

I love this list, instead of all the overrated lists people do, that feels so disrespectful.

The Ultra Gain is way too much. The onboard EQ is indeed tapped out to tame the Ultra Gain channels. As you say, my experience with the Ultra Gain beyond 6 is flubby and muddy. No bueno. Set the Gain to no higher than 6, 5 is fine too. I use an EQ in the fx loop. Reduce the lower mids and bass and increase the high mids and high mids, 1.6k to 3.2k, neutral on the 6.4 as it can be shrill but salt to taste. 200k to 800k minus neutral, 5db to 10db, raise the 100k 10db or so. A smile of sorts. Or you can scoop the mids (200k to 800k) Headfirst amps talks about this in great detail in his DSL100H mod video he does, his mod sounds awesome. He liked the classic gain/clean channel. Like your videos.

When you have realized that this is a real rocker guitar and have no ambitions to use it as a telecaster, then you are definitely on the right track with this guitar. It's a screamer, and a very clear one (thanks to the scale) and it has a very nice bridge pickup. I like it. When you go to the stage, bring in an additional hollowbody and a strat for rhythm and you are best suited.

Is it possible to use exactly the same effect, e.g. graphic EQ or whatever else multiple times while editing single signal chain and put it in a various places within using different setting for that effect?

These are great units once you learn to EQ and drop the high cut to 5 k at least. Otherwise every dirt tone will sound like a can of bees lol

Hi Alan. I'm curious, does this multi effects unit have the same sound quality as the Boss pedals? I have Boss and other brands of pedals but after yrs of building my perfect dream board my conclusion is most pedals cannot beat the sound quality of most if not all Boss pedals. The SD-1 Super Overdrive for example, ive bought 4 other O.D. pedals , 1 is a $400 pedal and doesn't hold a candle to the SD-1 , it's my favorite go to pedal.

Can anyone comment on the extra jumbo frets. I had a brief infatuation with the EVH SA-126 but after the Trogly Channel talked about the frets being so high that heavy handed players like myself may fret the guitar to sharp. I was wondering if the same applied to the Schecter.
