I admit that I didn't listen to the whole thing. I did hear that Dead Pool meant that no water could pass through the dam to feed the downstream river. At Dead Pool there is not much surface area for evaporation (not much more than the river). So, whatever water is coming into the lake from the Green River, the Colorado River, the San Juan river will always need to get out. The Jet Tubes may not have the capacity at times for a full runoff flow but the elevation will increase to the point there is enough pressure to push the flow through or to get above the penstocks for the turbines. Granted the 8.23 maf (with the Mexico allocation) a year may not happen every year. Concerning "pulling the plug" no one has given a possible solution to dealing with the non-native fish getting downstream and killing off the remaining humpbacked chub. Currently (August/September 2024) the Jet Tubes are being used to provide cooler water downstream to prevent the bass from spawning (along with other measures being considered). It's way more complicated than people think to just "pull the plug". Water will always be available to get downstream however.

Most people do not lnow that the US declared war on the LDS church, after the Civil War . As far as I know, this was the only war against a religion They occupied the territory militarily, improsoned elected pfficials, moved the capital, and removed the rights of women to voye. A thorough abuse of power.

My sister owns a little ranch in Dragoon and there is a gravesite of a confederate soldier killed by the Apache. Pretty cool I seen it and might still have the pics somewhere

I came across this video when researching Matthew 5:23-27 and Mark 4:35-41 when Jesus was on a boat in a lake and a storm came that broke over the boat and nearly overturned it, but Jesus slept through it. He woke up and rebuked the wind and everything went calm. I know of ocean storms, but wanted to see what a lake storm looks like. Thanks for sharing this moment. Beautiful scenery.

Swam a good mile to get to the rock back in '72 to '83. Still good with a sand bank in between in '87. Now...that's a stone's throw away. Several miles to the right and north, was a nice hide-a-way cove with a steep 50 yard sand dune and beach. A stop at Bull Frog with 2 five gallon cans got you to Paiute Farms and back-everyone had to swim at least 3 miles and dive the Rainbow Bridge and cliffs on the trip-those were the days. We had more fun than anyone would ever know. We are all now 70 years old. How time passes so fast!

It's called Solar Cycles, and remember. Two years ago a submerged volcano in Honga Tonga popped and put over 10% more water vapor into the stratosphere.

Woohoo, we'll take it downstream! Great footage👍 Thanks for taking the time to get out there and capture the events. It's been brutally hot too! I like the naming "Cool Flow Release" also. So it's no "High Flow Release" but they just left the damaged ones offline and sent it!

Great footage, Lord Rat. I, for one, appreciate the effort you put into this stuff 👍 Yeah, Powell is on the cusp now and just beginning to drop so all you folks should get down there and enjoy it while it lasts! Castle Rock Cut, theoretically, has seven feet of water in it but that won't last long.
