Do you think the Lord is trying to get us to see past the temple of brick and mortar to the "real" temple? True temple worship is not about a temple of brick and mortar [scripturally that is called “The House of the Lord” (Exodus 23:19; 1 Kings 6:1; D&C 58:9; 84:31. If you click on my picture icon, got to Chapter 10 and read the whole essay. You will enjoy it. 88:137; 109] with all its ordinances and ceremonies created for the living and the dead. True temple worship is about our body temple, whether in mortality or the world of spirits. If we are spiritually awake then we will see the symbolism found in “The House of the Lord,” [temple of brick and mortar]; which is to remind us where the true temple of God really is, which is you and complete its construction!!

I'd love to support this theory, however, it's nothing more than grasping for straws. Fact check #1 - During the 1960 General Conference, Spencer W Kimball shared the following: "The day of the Lamanites is nigh. For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised. In this picture of the twenty Lamanite missionaries, fifteen of the twenty were as light as Anglos; five were darker but equally delightsome. The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation." "At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen -sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents-on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather. There was the doctor in a Utah city who for two years had had an Indian boy in his home who stated that he was some shades lighter than the younger brother just coming into the program from the reservation. These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness. One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated."

Why is gender so important to LDS culturally? Something seems lacking in the discussion and remarks by Mormons in the comments. Comments often use such brutal and violent terms and concepts with people who don't conform to defined genders, and roles. it doesn't seem very thoughtful or compassionate. Also it seems to be lacking in nuance. The preference seems to be upon 'black and white' , 'right or wrong' Why is it necessarily to always have a clear gender identify? I must at admit I sometimes feel uncomfortable when I interact with someone who doesn't have a clear gender identity. Mostly because English lacks a neutral pronoun system which is agreed to by everyone. I remember as a child not really liking gender assigned toys. Most of the boys toys were so incredibly violent, and or scary. At that time in the USA it was difficult to find boys toys which were not violent or scary, creepy, gross. Who said that association was necessary? Girls toys were so domestic, usually themed around cooking, cleaning, raising kids. Like there was no imagination on the part of adults who created these toys. In my early teens I ran home to watch 'the price is right" to watch Bob Barker. He was the only male role model I remember which seemed decent. Every other male seemed to be a total jerk.

It's really NOT a complicated issue at all. If I find out that there is a male in the same bathroom with my wife or daughter, there will be a different kind of "laying on of hands" for which I will gladly accept excommunication. It's really not the same church as it was twenty years ago.

Yeah except the Book of Mormon also mentions them drawing the swords out of their sheaths, which we know that Mesoamerican weapons were either carried by hand or in a basket by a porter. That’s not even going into the whole thing about horses and chariots, where we know that horses went extinct long before sedentary civilization arose. And no chariots have ever been found. And of course, chariots would be very impractical in the jungle environment or mesoamerica

Mormons wake UP!! (not left woke) This is a real issue! The leaders were wrong about Gays it is not a choice its complicated. Next is transgenders. We have females who look like a female (petite) talk like a female act like a female and feels like a female BUT.. they were born with a male sex organ. The same happens to some men vice versa and everything in between. Obviously, something went wrong during birth and or puberty. Transitioning is a whole other issue. These people need help and support, put yourself in their shoes. This is not a social fad but yes I believe "the left" is making it worse. All I ask for my mormon friends is to get educated. Our leaders will change all of this in 2 years. Science is making/squeezing our leaders to change and do the right thing. Be Christlike and respect these people

@@DodoLoco515 maybe a better way of putting it is they came a long way, when i was younger, any out lgbtq person was excluded from everything, and I mean everything. As I stated above I disagree with the policy, but I see movement in a more compassionate direction, is it enough no, there trying to balance more Traditional Members and there more Progressive members, and that has to be hard, I believe in full inclusion, but if you grew up in the 80's and 90's you would understand how toxic the lds church was to the lgbtq community in many ways it still is, but a small step is still a step in the right direction. In the 90's or eairly 2000's a young trans person would have not been considered at all, they would have excluded them from everything. I feel like the lds church is always 20 years behind culture and I think in another 10 or 20 years this will be a non issue for most people in the church. Again just my opinion.

I personally know two individuals who were born intersexed. Their parents had to decide, at birth, what sex was going to be assigned to these children. Both, as adults, transitioned to the other sex. Upon hormone testing, these individuals had more of the opposite sex hormones confirming the assigned sex at birth was incorrect. Personally, I feel these new policies are in direct opposition to what the church has been stating for many years...that we are to be sensitive, accepting, and to love all of our brothers and sisters. These members are not pediophils and should not be discriminated against, i.e., by advising that if they cannot find a single stall restroom in the church, that they will be escorted by another member who has cleared the restroom of other members while this member uses the restroom, or they will need to find an alternative means to use the restroom. How humiliating is that for the member? Why discriminate and state that our transgender sisters can only attend Relief Society on a limited basis? I have a question for all of my member friends. If Christ was the door greeter at sacrament meeting, and one of our transgender brothers or sisters presented to attend that meeting, would Christ turn that person away? I think not. He would welcome them with open arms. I personally think that we have taken a step backwards in love and acceptance.
@woodystube1000

When you say “born intersexed” do you mean born with both sets of genitalia? If so, that is extremely rare, and makes up a minuscule portion of the so-called transgender community. That you personally know two different people born that way is astounding. The odds are astronomical.

One of the biggest threats to Marxism is the church and the nuclear family. What cultural Marxism has done is infiltrate the church with identity, politics and social justice to bring upon the demise of the nuclear family in the church to replace it with a new type of society. How many people who are members that transition will actually stay in the church? When lives are diametrically opposed to the gospel laws it is doubtful they will remain in the church, that goes as well for any deviant sexual behavior. This is a very tactful way of saying you are who you are at birth and gives members to be respectful even if we disagree on who they claim to be.

How many trans people are in the Church? Must be more than a couple if the Church is now discussing this. The Church may actually eventually get revelation bringing it into the 21st century. Probably not in my lifetime, but if the membership numbers keep dropping as they are and the Church becomes more politically extremist (some members. Area Authorities, Stake President, BYU, and Bishops) these numbers may increase. At least they mentioned it. Personally I don't care if somebody is trans. As a Saint it's not my business to tell others how to act or live.
