Baby steps with the riding you look after yourself, but did you try the Amflow? As tester who rides more than just Bosch and Shimano motors be interesting to have your take.
@alexbiketester
@alexbiketester 20 сағат бұрын
I had a good look over it and paid attention to small details, like the speed sensor, which doesn't seem magnetic "thus maybe susceptible to mud?)" and other fine details. The stem is definitely wobbly and for me an issue. The display is clear and intelligent and the remotes on the bar i find a bit big. Riding for me was a priority on the Focus, as I have to send it back soon so I had no time or energy to ride it. Plus my riding skills are on a low level at moment to discover what it can do I would not be able to say much. Muldoon is also testing the Amflow in depth and to be honest he will give an excellent and better insight than me currently to the bike when the review is out On MBR. As in my opinion he is the top bike tester in the world in the media. His review is the only one that counts honestly. And im not kissing his arse, I quite willingly tell him to F off if he deserves it. Regarding the Amflow I also know that MBR are not being paid for the review in anyway. They are not hiding their affiliation to DJI as they have none. Unlike all the other youtubers who have had it and hide their Bias or we have no clear idea to what they are doing, they just hype it. I did notice the motor on the Amflow has more internal resistance than the Bosch, when rolled backwards the consequences of that im not clear at the moment. I witnessed the uphill Boost mode, which was impressive, but I have seen other high torque motors do the same, so im not on that hype train. My main feeling about the bike is that it is good, but its been launched in a small window and it stands out currently. That will change very soon, there are other bikes coming with other motors that will compete with this and have a consumer history making them more appealing to the consumer. Price wise though this is a hard bike to beat currently. The overall look of the bike (frame styling) I also am not a fan of. Yes its slim, but Canyon, Specialized and Trek make better looking bikes. It almost feels like a knock off when you look at the design. Yes this is aesthetics and my opinion only. The stem though does need to be chucked as soon as you open the box...

@@alexbiketester cool thanks for the feedback, I impressed with the DJI Avinox or the little I’ve seen about it online but there is so much hype from testers who seem to be making one long Ad for the product. Then there’s the Amflow bike, there is something missing it doesn’t have the sex, that desirability other brands have and if it wasn’t for the DJI motor it would be dead in the water. It’s just a platform to get the system out in the wild so the big boys can see the hype and look to design and spec there EMTB around. I may be talking crap but come euro bike 26 think they’ll be a wash of DJI Avinox bikes. A lot seem to be forgetting the ZF motor too, which shouldn’t be discounted.

KZbinrs should tell people that these power bikes are pushing the guidance of the law , this power race will ruin this hobby as Electric Trail bikes ( E mopeds ) will be banned from bridleways and paths and they will take low power and legal 250w EMTB's down with them , leaving designated parks as the only places to go . Not just DJI but a lot of other makes too who sell them as " MORE POWERFUL " is not good for the hobby imo We need to play down the power aspect UK law Bikes can put out more than 250 watts with a peak power of 500W+ which is legal under UK rules provided that it cannot sustain over 250W for more than thirty minutes power at the output shaft How can 1000w motors be within the spirit of this law ? I'm an older rider and would not be in the hills without E assist on the bikes and totally get it but I'd much rather lower power and freedom to ride anywhere than be banned from the mtb trails

There is a lot of people missing the point, its about the over the top marketing. No one tired it, all the reviews are paid for and there is a group that will not hear anything said about it with out defending it. Ive been in the industry for 15 years, so when I call out a very clear more marketing than substance everyone thinks i'm a hater. Read through the comments I am clearly not. The same thing happened with numerous other products the MGU is another one, no one has ridden it but everyone defends it with out any real longterm tests. If you ride the motor in the video a {competitor}, you understand clearly what the reality is of having a high torque powerful motor. Mostly that its unnecessary, as Ive mentioned. What I do that others don\t is I am willing to actually say what is happening. Amflow DJI are excellent at marketing, Cultural/nationality back ground is not even an issue and of course would never be from my perspective. There is a product element to why no bike brand bought it originally/ They had to make their own bike to get it known. Possibly warranty and support network, possibly ownership, possible timing as the market was saturated and there was no capital to build another product line from scratch, this I cant confirm, I suspect established global warranty support is the biggest point currently. There are already competitors in the pipeline or have motors produced that will bring prospective to this product and the verve that everyone is responding to it with. its all marketing....Its good we can debate all these things. Everyone is being respectful which is great to see.

Also a few other brands are coming out with motor upgrades to their systems soon with the same stats. My point of most of these videos is to warn people that they are subject to marketing runs on them. If you have the bike and are happy with it great. As an early adopter you will be able to sift the details and tell people about reliability etc. The bike is a well priced bike, with good stats, but its not worthy of all the hype that makes it sound like its ten steps ahead of every other bike, thats not true. I know the youtube community I know who is paid and not paid, at some point someone has to call out the excessive noise they make. Checks and balances, important. @@robhaskins3068 focus bikes already used the ² marketing. :-) DJI are very good at marketing..... That's the point. Marcus Brownlee did 98 mph in a 35 "testing" the last camera.... Wonder what feedback they gave him about that blunder.... The bike industry social media media needs a shake up and needs to start acting more responsibly as from where I'm sitting the public found out, stopped buying bikes and now wants a bit more realistic and honest media. DJI had to make their own bike to sell the motor. They also started a media blitz to make sure that any stories about government ownership of the company were "explained".... There is a very multilayer business plan taking place. However they won't be alone for long and the competition will reappear and the market will all be exactly the same stat wise for all the systems. Meaning there will be no difference to today.... Except on climbing trails there will be more wheel slip, as everyone is convinced they need to use max torque/power to get up the hill.... @alexbiketester
@alexbiketester 9 күн бұрын
@@dallasdrew2390 Basically yes, the reviewers dont declare clearly in the videos who is sponsoring the video and how. If you look at Linus tech tips they have a gold standard to how to place and discuss product. Look at Colin and Samir last interview with him from minute 60 onwards. The only two/three channels apart from myself (I always mention if the video is supported with my words in the video) who are straight up is MBR, who make it clear now if there is a product video or a review, they genuinely are clear. Also ironically EMBN, who don't review bikes and mark their content when it has a product placement or AD with the word AD on the thumbnail. They could go as far as MBR , but they are more of an entertainment channel. Rob rides does ad reads in his podcasts which is clear and good! He is also straight up about peaty supporting the channel. It would be good if this was carried into the bike reviews the same level of spoken clarity. The bike media since magazines died has been playing an uncomfortable game and is scared to actually say who is paying for what.... I could list all the others who are not following a transparent practice. At the end its not a difficult thing to do and it would make the consumer much happier to know what they are watching. Out of interest the jurisdiction where I am obliges us to say, if not its illegal. This is true of most reviews especially the big channels. There is no industry best practice and its time it changed.... Me moaning about it though is probably not going to do much... LOL However when you read in the comments sections now people have got wind of it and can tell now whats going on. Its time to make the change into a best practice so people know whats going on. It makes even us uncomfortable. I ask sam;s bikes for example if he received any money from DJI in the last 6 months, I wrote it in a comment, I have heard no response so far.... Im not the police, but I dont want people to be confused between a real review and something which has had money given to them, so they are going to say whatever to make the brand happy, but call it a review. If you present a product and clear state "BRAND A wanted us to show you and tell you about this bike... Or Our ride over the alps was supported by "BRAND B" and we are riding their bikes.... Its not a hard thing to do and it will make it better for everyone especially the brands. Also lets not mention the number inflation going on with subscriber counts and in parallel very small numbers of views. (which to be fair seem to be occuring as a disconnect between YOutube at the moment) my question is how many videos have had their view counts boosted or bought? It is an option in the back end of youtube. Anyway the tech vertical of youtube has a much better way of functioning going on now.... time to do it in BIKE world. If you cant clearly look at a video and know who is the sponsor and how then the video is an ad.

The dji is more significant than this. I have one, having had many bikes over 20+ years. The Avinox is better on every level. Sure more power but fully controllable. Full screen with all the ride analysis you need, supported by a brilliant app. The bike charges in a fraction of the time of any other bike out there. Bluetooth controllers so no fussy wires. It even connects to my hearrate monitor and I can start my osmo 5 camera from one of the buttons on my handlebars for instant recording whilst overlaying all my ride details and metrics. Show me another bike with this tech? Plus it does it all incredibly quietly, unlike the motor in this bike. Dji have turned this market on its head and they do right to shout about it. Alex you really are coming across as a Dji hater, really mate get on a bike then comment, I can understand you hate the marketing but all it mean is the’ve done a good job on that front, something a lot of companies would love, surely as a bike tester its in your interest to stay neutral until you’ve had the experience

Im calling out all the people who are banging on about it not the motor. Ive made no comment on the motor.... The only thing I have mentioned is that there are other motors with the same stats. Thats it. Maybe soon I start reviewing the reviewers of the products.... LOL Watch the youtube video I have Pinned.....

I love innovative products, I absolutely expect the DJI to work, to what extent remains to be seen. But I have a problem with how those who talk about it and push it haven't tried anything similar or are simply doing stuff with it that's not representative or real to the end user. Louis Rossman has been saying this about apple for years in the computer world. For me the KZbin hustlers have gone too far.... Granted DJI have a very clever and good marketing machine. Which there is nothing wrong with having. But when content is labelled as advertorial it needs to be clearly done. MBR recently did a video on weighing SL bikes. For me that is the best video with branding that has been put out in recent times by cycling media which balances the need for advertising and appropriate mentioning of the product. Where I'm based, a famous KZbinr influenza call Chiara Ferragni got into trouble for false claims of donations for cake profits to a childrens hospital. The out cone was that now that there are now laws passed that brings us into line with normal media.

Great to see you back on a bike. I've been really interested in the Thok bikes over the last few months but unfortunately I've had no response from them as to if they're available in the UK? Ended up buying a merida e160 700se

You might not need the power as you're afraid of going fast, but lots of us aren't. Get that chip off your shoulder with regards to dji. That is a way faster, lighter, quieter, bike with a bigger wh battery than that noisey thing you bought.

@alexbiketester where is the bs marketing? They only produced stats about their bike and let it sell itself. Show me the bs marketing. I bet you can't show my any examples.

The quote for peak power is illegal firstly. Maximum allowed peak power is 500 w according to the EN standard for EU. Stay on nominal power or they ruin it for everyone. That is a quote from a chief engineer from another motor brand.

The main point of the dji bike is the full power but with low weight and sleek looking. And this is 23 kg according to google and you can immediately see its an ebike

The Amflow has light weight tyres and a less than ideal shock tune out of the box. The wheels are also light weight Carbon and not really up to the performance you would require pushing it around. The tyres as always are half the con trick with any lightweight Ebike apart from the Slash+ which is a real light weight actual Enduro RIG. The thing is that everyone is having the wool pulled over their eyes and is drink up the marketing like its science. The bike is good value but the noise about it is paid for.

@@alexbiketester according to their website they spec: Front: Maxxis Assegai MaxxTerra 29×2.5" WT 3C EXO E-25 TLR Rear: Maxxis Dissector MaxxTerra 29×2.4" WT 3C EXO+ E-25 TLR which arent really the lightest tyres out there and will definetly not save you 3kg. I do agree that the bike is not an absolute revolution but it has a good motor, low weight and a good design for a relatively low price. Shock you can always replace, its the frame and motor that rly counts and those are great according to all ive heard.
@alexbiketester
@alexbiketester 11 күн бұрын
@davinci69 the stock shock tune is apparently not good and DJI need to work on it. From the feedback I've heard, yes value performance is good. But at the end it's a bike like many bikes. To ride better it needs better tyres apparently.. but that then that tips it over the low weight moniker....
@LlenadeMalo
@LlenadeMalo 11 күн бұрын
@alexbiketester a shock tune is barely a criticism since that is a personal choice. The shock is solid. Mess with it as you want. Criticizing it for tires odd. Put others on then everyone does. Also the OEM tires are not light tires. Not double down casing, but heavy.
