What size are you riding and how tall are you? I'm looking at buying the Neat RR but am having trouble with the sizing do to their strange geometry. The reach is so much longer than what I normally ride (a S4 Stumpjumper evo) that has about the same reach as the M Neat. I'm 6'/183cm and the size chart says I'm definitely an L, but my SJ evo is already as long of reach as I'd ever want and the L Neat is 25mm longer and wheelbase is 30mm longer. Do a lot of people size down because with the Neat already having a 30mm stem, if it's too long, I don't have room to shorten it. I wonder if a M with a 40mm stem wouldn't be perfect for me.

Close calls make you appreciate life more seems vain to say but I wish you a speedy recovery, I've had two serious motorcycle accidents and a pretty bad DH crash with complex and time consuming recoveries in the last 10 yrs and I'm not about to quit. I can't lie and say it was always without heavy consequences but now what's left is Titanium upgrades and stories to tell kids... Keep healing and take your time to enjoy more when you're back at it. 🤟

Great motor. Very natural. No excessive overrun that propels you when you don’t want it, ie tight hairpin high tech climbs and down hill rock garden technical.. last thing you want is unpredictable propulsion. I wish Yamaha would fit another cell or two in the top of battery, seems there’s room between the twin split area on a Moro. 650w gets me another 10 miles. But this thing charges to 80% for another 20-25 miles very quickly so I suppose the weight trade off is worth it. Not riders going 40-50 on a day. 35 miles excursion ability for adventure touring would be nice however.

Well I’ve learn’t something today as I had never heard of Dorsal spine before. It apparently is another word for thoracic spine. I have a fused thoracic spine from an RTA so I have a long rod, screws and bone grafts so I know how you feel. I wish you a speedy recovery 🫶🏻

What a pitty that they’ve made such a small compact motor and then have this massive clunky battery. As bikes like the amflow and canyon OnFly make frames that are sleeker and more traditionally mtn bike looking, this huge battery size makes that impossible.

Did the accident happens on the Slash+? - I wish you a full & speedy recovery.
@alexbiketester4 күн бұрын
Yes it did. Not the bikes fault. I had to abandon it in the woods. To save myself. Police picked it up luckily and trek then collected it from them. Moat unusual way to give a test bike back.....

Wow you are very luck Alex, get well soon. I ride alone quiet often, and have had a few crashes while alone, but nothing like this. I have an interesting question to put to you. Whilst I am an advocate of protective gear (helmet and pads etc.) to keep you safe. Do you think that because you had all of your protective gear on, it may have made you over confident, which contributed to you crashing? Having said that maybe we should all try extra hard to reign in that side of ourselves when we have all the gear on and feel invincible.

I am a little confused. other pictures you posted of the helmet show the chin guard being broken. Which took me down a rabbit hole of helmet chin guard material durability. Being that helmet shells are made from differing materials and the protruding chin guard design compared with motorcycle helmets would indicate that this design is a folly. Companies like POC seem to have a more rounded design. When you feel better in the months to come maybe you could look into this aspect of helmet design.

The left side did snap off. Possibly because the impact was so hard.... Right side stayed on.

Wow what a mad crash in the blink of an eye. So glad you survived and are on the mend. As you say it could have been a completely different story if you had a non full face helmet on but dafe to say it was a very good decision. Right off to order a full face helmet. Hope the recovery goes well and look forward to the next video. Speedy recovery Alex.
