I bought the Legacy collection. Without it I never would have played ZX or Advent because I never would have picked up a DS. I really enjoyed ZX but the game did have some serious issues. #1 The map was horrible and confusing. #2 The side missions are not easy nor well thought out. #3 The NPC dialogue - which you need for items - can sometimes not give you the dialogue tree you need. #4 The Health sub tank mission is ridiculously tedious. #5 The Area K sub tank is nearly impossible to get. I only managed to get it because my PC had a memory leak and was running in slow motion. I took advantage of that opportunity. #6 The enemies are not well balanced. They are way overpowered - especially when you fight Omega. #7 You would normally need to have previous cartridges to access all the content in this game. That should never be the case. (Legacy collection fixes this to allow you to reach OMEGA, but doesn't save the special stone you need to unlock OX armor). #8 Without the Legacy's save point feature, this game is really, really hard. Who are they targeting with these games? Kids? Preteens? Adults? After beating ZX, I was suffering some anxiety and didn't want to start Advent. When I did start Advent I realized it solved a lot of issues with ZX. #1 They fixed the map and made it easier to use. #2 They reduced the side mission complexity. #3 They made NPC dialogue better and more linear. #4 They made subtanks easier to get. #6 They made the enemies less difficult - especially the bosses. #7 They gave you a single power bar for your special weapons. #8 They made the game generally more enjoyable - and I did like the morph into boss feature. Advent's music wasn't as good as ZX. The tunes are great, but songs like Green Grass Gradiation, Wonder Panorama, Assault on Guardian and a few others were extremely good and stood out. For Advent, I only really got into the initial songs: Destiny and Through the Lightning. I'd have actually welcomed remixes of ZX's songs along with the new songs. I felt like they put way more effort into ZX's content and Advent felt a little rushed - even though ZX's was clumsily executed. I feel Advent's final boss was too difficult, but it's possible if I played it dozens of times I'd master it. Both ZX and ADVENT are good games and I'm glad I played through them. I hope we get sequels to ZX Advent and Mega Man X8. Mega Man 11 was good, but we are left starving for more.

Whenever you switched footage i genuinely had a hard time telling which game was which at a first glance, really shows how perfectly Team Reptile managed to recreate that iconic 2000s aesthetic.

You know…when I first heard about this game (especially because I played the demo of “Ant’s Life”,) I held no hopes for this particular title… Until I saw the commercial for KH…then I was interested but never bought it myself initially. My boyfriend bought it at the moment it was released and we played it together. Until 2, I was absolute fan. The spinoffs and expansions just really put me off and three just gave me motion sickness because of the ad-hoc parkour that abounded made me feel sick. Had they kept to what KH1 & 2 made it special, I’d have played…pity they went off the rails for more hyperactive players.

13 minutes in and I’m still as confused as I was when I played the original when I was 10, I’m 31 now. I remember kingdom hearts vividly, I played all night for three nights straight during a summer break and only remember getting to Hercules. I remember liking the gameplay but I couldn’t understand what was happening in the story. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one.

I okayed in this order. 365/2 days- BBS- recoded- kh1- KH2 With no prior knowledge. Because I was a kid and just happened to only have certain consoles at certain times. In my mind, Aqua, Terra and Ven are the main characters, and I dint see them as ripoffs or retcons. In my mind, Sora is low key the smallest character story wise. His whole story is “nice guy”

It looks like the answer to the question "what would Freedom Planet look like if it was Megaman Zero?" Definitely neat, but probably not something that'd hold my attention compared to, say, 30XX (just my personal preference. I generally prefer rougelikes to speedrunning.) Might grab it whenever it goes on sale.
