The Aptera motorcycle is wider than a Hummer H1. And therefore cannot be registered in EU, UK, Australia. Aptera has no cargo space , just a hat rack. If you put in anything other than toilett paper, the Aptera turns into a guillotine for the driver at the first hard brake.

88 inches wide? Single garage doors can be purchases that are only 84 inches wide and the widest single door is 96 inches wide. That means the it won't fit in the small door and only have 4 inches left on either side for the large door. My guess it that it would not be allowed in a compact parking space. Those wheels hanging way out there are going to be damage magnets.

No doubt that it's lightweight, aerodynamic and thus - fuel efficient. But there are a couple of huge red flags with this presentation. Saying that it's range can be up to 4X that of comparable sized vehicles is meaningless. "Can be up to" is a scam typical claim that makes me doubt the Aptera rather than remain interested in it. Far better to put it out there: Publish some actual range numbers based on both it's range on battery without sunlight and it's max possible range on a sunny day in a sunny location. Second red flag: Bragging on it's cargo capacity. It's a two passenger vehicle. Take any 'similar sized" EV and remove the back seats and they will have as much (or more) cargo volume. As someone who is interested in EV's and new technology, I've got to say that this presentation does not inspire me to consider an Aptera at this point. Nor do I want to buy Aptera a cup of coffee.

Even Tesla allows for standard wall outlet charging. The difference is Aptera will get you over 100 miles overnight and Tesla only get about 16. @aussieideasman849820 сағат бұрын
@@SteveBueche1027 "Even Tesla allows for standard wall outlet charging." That's irrelevant. They (Tesla) provide a lead but they don't claim it's a charger like Volta and the lying CEO's do. My point stands, even though you might have fooled the gullible fanboys - you really haven't. "The difference is Aptera will get you over 100 miles overnight and Tesla only get about 16." The difference is also irrelevant to the lie being peddled. At least Tesla gets 5 people those 16 miles and Aptera gets nobody anywhere because no-one can buy it. Only 2 people if ever they sell it. But where's that fast PI.2 so we can get the real figures? I bet it's nowhere near 100 miles because those snake oil liars exaggerate every stat. 0 t0 60 is still going around at under 4 seconds, and that's way too quick. I will be vindicated when the independent test figures show the truth. In the meantime, you quote hot air. "Now, if you have an outlet for a 220 dryer, the outlet can be switched for Super Charging Tesla." All domestic outlets are 220-240 volts in Aus, and it's nowhere near enough to supercharge anything, let alone a Tesla. We have outlets that run on 15 amps instead of the usual 10 for heavy duty clothes dryers, et al, but still not in the same league as a supercharger. "Aptera has gone back and forth so I don’t know what the current fast charging options are." They tried to not have DC charging because they probably knew there would be dangers, and only backflipped to avoid a huge backlash. I reckon they won't sell any because they probably still know it's too dangerous. Let me know when you get some real and proven facts?

Back onto the Volta answers - 26. A radiator not only adds weight but more so creates drag as air is directly forced into it. The damage to efficiency will be very high. The belly pan has not had the technology worked out so has no future introduction date until such time as they can. It was always a hoax. They used to claim it worked and sucked in thousands.

I love the concept of the Aptera, and I wish them every success. However, here are my three questions for Aptera: (a) will the base model of this ultimately sell for under $30K? (b) what will commonplace repairs cost on these cars? (Carbon fiber won't just dent so you can pound it out or replace a specific panel), and (c) how well will these cars perform in colder, snowy climates? I wouldn't mind losing some range during the winter, but it it can't handle the snowy, slushy, doused in road salt, riddled-with-potholes road conditions, we have during Erie PA winters, then it's a non-starter for 99% of people who live north of the Mason-Dixon line. Bonus question: how does this ultra-lightweight, super-aerodynamic car function in high-wind conditions?

The body can be repaired using fiberglass just like any other. Current starting price for the base 17 miles with the hood and dash pad in solar is $25,900 Driving should be like any other front wheel drive minus one wheel. There are videos on their site and around of Aptera testing. The center back wheel riding through the center hill of snow in the winter could cause some concern but that hasn’t been tested yet. They did have it in the snowy country of Sweden a while back and didn’t have any complaints.

The Aptera is 88” wide, wheel to wheel. For comparison, my old 3-row SUV (a large vehicle) is 75” wheel to wheel. Including the mirrors, it’s 86”, but then the mirrors can be retracted when parked. In my area, code defines a compact parking space as 90” wide.
