I had the parent of a student come to me and say that their child refused to come to any other instructor after they had attended a tournament, The Olympic Bronze medalist instructor had told their child that, "If you did not have a trophy from the tournament, then you did not try hard enough to win." The parent referred to that other instructor as a Cobra Kai view of Martial arts (from the karate Kid movies). She and her son saw me as a "Miagi" view of personal best improvement over time. I had not expected this at all. After that, I had a Japanese family start taking classes from me and I was puzzled since the boys had gi''s that had the number one Judoka in Japan on their backs. I asked them why they were taking classes from me as opposed to any other "formal/professional" judoka instead of through a park district class. The answer surprised me, "You are the only one for a distance of two towns around this town that speaks Japanese for the techniques when teaching." From the above, for me, I look for several things in an instructor: 1) Knowledge and skill in demonstrating a given technique. 2) What does the technique do for the individual? Benefits conferred. 3) Can the instructor teach variations of a given technique for those that are struggling with it. 4) What is the flavor or history of the technique? 5) Can the instructor create interest in what they are teaching. 6) Ability to effectively answer questions from the students in the class. I look for at least 3 of these from any instructor, more is better. I have purchased over 7 of the recordings from Lee over the past 24 years and return to them on a regular basis. There are three layers to what I look for when I develop my skill in Qi Gong, 1) Physical movement. 2) Breathing technique, 3) Energy manifestation, flow, and concentration. You may have other priorities, be flexible in your choice of instructors.

for mi qi gong is more deep and especific than tai ji , tai ji is full of rulls , i mean tai ji is great, but in mi personal experience qi gong is more complementary whit kung fu , kung fu is fast and for fighting and health but the kung fu adapt to your body like bruce lee teachings, qi gong is free to ,let more room for improvisation , you can mix ba dua jing , yi ying yi , , so as kung fu , you can mix choy lay fut, wing chun , san da etc as your line of qi gong is great as well ,the blood preasure excercise is very very good, any way love your videos , i hope there is a part 2 of visulisation , greeting from chile

I think it's a profound statement when you say if you can worry then you can meditate. I have never heard of such a backward notion put so eloquently. If we can worry we can meditate, because "worrying is meditating on what we don't want". So we could actually turn things around and meditate on what we do want. Love it!

I have really enjoyed watching this video and really look forward to reading your book. Thanks for writing it. It is a wonderful and much needed topic. If you ever decide to write another book, I would be interested in the one you were thinking of writing on the five elements. Maybe not as mainstream of a topic, but if anyone could make this topic interesting and relevant to a broader audience, it would be you. And nice to see Ben in the video. I always enjoy Lee and Ben together.

1:10 Common misconceptions people have about slowing down. Ever since I started practicing QiGong with Lee my energy levels have increased and my stress levels have gone down, and it’s not even been a month yet. Even just seven minutes a day has been a game changer! Thank you for making this practice so accessible!

Thank u so much! I tried it myself & felt the healing power of my body( warm feeling in my right ear as i followed ur video. I’ll try this to my 99 year old mother now. Hope to send me more of ur expertise regarding natural healing for i loved sharing also the natural healing process of our body. God really knows everything! That He created us w/ a built in doctor inside our body, has the capacity to do its repair or regeneration. God really is so powerful & so good. This should be shared to all! God bless u more brother!
