LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Very Helpful. I'm so ready have my tent all my set up products ready to sell....Now my biggest struggle now is HOW DO YOU FIND SHOWS? Farmer Markets are telling me that you have to sign up a year in advance. So my question is WHERE are these Craft Fairs everyone keeps talking about?

may I suggest, move your fire extinguisher about 10 feet from the lumber storage, ang about 10 feet from the electrical panel. Imagine trying to get close to a 400+ degree fire it grab the now 400 degree fire extinguisher. Moving it a bit away from probable sources of fire makes it less nerve racking to get to, and prevents injury while trying to get to it allowing you to limit your fire and injury risk.

Jennie, you need to make more videos like this. The raw emotion in this video is great! You are trying to push it down and hide it, but this is what every business owner goes through and I think it is very powerful for other business owners to see this is and know they aren't alone. Thank you so much for showing this aspect of business.

Oh the maker's curse. It is sooooo hard not to point out the imperfections. Keep you mouth shut and they will never know it. I used to sell higher price items for a major corporation. I would have customers that bought out lowest price items and they were almost always the worst customers to deal with post sale. I got to the point I told people 'I'm not going to sell that to you. Every time I sell one of these I spend more time fixing problems than it's worth. I'd be happy to sell you (x product) or higher, but if you insist on buying this one, I'm going to invite you to buy it from someone else.'

Enjoy the content… I will say those plastic push sticks are notoriously dangerous as I have seen them “explode” when they touch the blade. Recommend using wooden push stick… just trying to help! Keep up the hard work!

Please very careful with those gloves. I worked in a medical facility and used a bandsaw everyday. The new employees had to where kevlar gloves to keep from getting cut from themselves with scalpels, but HAD to, as a matter of keeping their jobs, take off the kevlar gloves when using the bandsaw. We still had to wear two pairs of rubber gloves because we wore head to toe PPE, but they were tight medical grade, not as much danger. I know three people with horrible bandsaw injuries and you don't want that. The worst one and he still works there had his project catch, his hand pulled forward, blade went between his ring finger and middle finger to the middle of his palm before he got loose.

The best advice I was given when going to to business, you can't ask for more but you can always give a discount. Plus customers always prefer you come in under the number you quote not over. So use this formula, see what number it produces, then decide if you can''t charge this much then your business isn't viable, you can't do it for less so either do it faster, use cheaper materials, or sell it better, otherwise don't do it at all.

You can eliminate the snipe by making two of your strips a little long. One sticking out the front the other the back. Then when you plane, the long strip will receive the snipe and you can cut it off. It doesn't waste too much wood. I do it with the cheaper woods.

The same thing, kinda, happened to me earlier this month. Long story short, I didn’t mind paying full price for the product I ordered, but you’re 100% correct if you thought I got 100% of my delivery cost refunded because the product didn’t arrive anywhere close to on schedule.

What man really needs to learn is to stop chasing the $. Making good products that contribute to other people’s needs and doing it in a way that also enriches our lives. What if we measured accomplishement by how it made the world a better place, not how many dollars did we get.

I was stuck on pricing out some work I've done and this was a timely video for me. Thanks! It is difficult to adjust for inflation, what sounds high now has to be weighed against the current market. It's almost $20 to hit a drivethru, nearly $10 for a 12 pack of pop. It's just changed and it's difficult to know what I should be charging.

i finally got to starting my business, i got everything setup, and now I'm stuck at the online marketing phase. I haven't been able to sell a single product yet. i have a good product, i use good material, I'm confident my website looks good and legit, and my ads seem to be getting clicks. The only problem i could think of is that i currently only have two products in my store and 1 variation totaling 3 products, and maybe that's why i haven't got a sale yet, or maybe i need to put more money into ads, I'm really not sure. but any advice is greatly appreciated.

I don’t build furniture but I do refinish it, I have found that when doing custom orders it complicates things if I give my clients too many choices, usually they just say “ I like your style so I’m giving you full design control” that’s a scary thing sometimes, I usually just ask for a photo of the room the piece will be in. Another thing that I always do is write a short thank you postcard and in that I always ask them for feedback in the form of a business review, I feel like small business owners are afraid to do that or they just don’t know how to ask but reviews can make or break a small business.

I love my Glowforge, make no mistake, but when it comes to speed or detail work my Xtool F1 knocks it out of the park for engraving. A 4"x 4" high detail engrave on the Forge could take upwards of an hour with the F1 it was less than 5 minutes.

Would you say it's necessary to wrap cutting boards and kitchen products in a tissue paper before putting it in the custom box? I am thinking of simply putting the products on the crinkle paper in the custom mailer box, and then putting that inside a brown shipping box. Any problems with that? Do you think the boards would get damaged?

Put all your brainboard controlled machines on a switched receptacle and be sure to switch them off after every use. It was very likely a power surge at the pole that took the board out. If you can't find a switched receptacle with a high enough amp rating, you'll find one at your local HVAC or electrical supply house. Don't use the breaker in your service panel as a switch. They're not made to be used like that and will have a much shorter service life being used in such a manner. Best of luck to you two.
