Two great HOF coaches! Two great teams, and programs. This was Kus trip to the final four. I don’t remember if we beat Carolina or not.

Growing up, I remember this was the first Regional Final I watched with my Dad. He had taken me to several KU games during the regular season. I was so exicted. Especially with 10 minutes remaining... and my Dad said "we are playing a Bob Knight team, an Indiana team...I don't care how good we look now, we are lucky to be hanging around!" I am glad KU and IU are doing a series again!

If Alan Henderson doesn't injure his knee, they beat Kansas and maybe win another National Championship.
@barryprice42022 жыл бұрын
Yep! 6’9” 11pts/8rebs and a block a game but most importantly here in this game post defense and positioning. IU would have squeeked by Ku for the revenge and set up the greatest final four of all time East #1 UNC vs Midwest #1 Indiana Southeast #1 Kentucky vs West #1 Michigan. A Final Four I felt would produce four different champions had it been played four different times.

Agreed. This team along with 92 you felt was a definite threat to win it all. No other Indiana team felt like that after 93.

I pretty much agree. Although, Indiana did take out my Owls in 1994 when we had arguably Chaney's most talented team (Aaron Mckie and Eddie Jones duo). The Hoosiers would then get upset by Curly and Boston College. I vividly remember the BC game.

As an IU fan this was a rough one to watch. The end of a heralded class that had talent to win back to back but didn’t.

But they lost to a very good team. That's the mystique of the NCAA tournament with it being 1 and done.

If Alan Henderson was 100 percent healthy the outcome would have been different.
@msa4998 Жыл бұрын
No disrespect to Kansas … a great program … they really controlled the game and did a nice job on Calbert. I think if Alan was healthy, then we may have seen a different outcome. Way too many frontcourt easy baskets that Alan would have affected.

Alan Henderson not being healthy hurt IU in the post and Kansas rightly took advantage. With Henderson, IU wins this one.

It seems Roy's KU teams rarely had a point guard that could shoot. They were almost always playmaker/defenders. In games when Adonis was hitting hitting 3s, KU was really tough to beat. Jacque Vaughn came next and was pretty much the same way. Then Aaron Miles. When their point guard was scoring, the opponent was usually in for a long day.

What about Kirk Heinrich?
@Enigma715592 жыл бұрын
@@sisigs4820 Heinrich wasn't the true point. Aaron Miles was on those teams. Kirk could and did play the point on occasion but he was a 2 guard.

Really nice college player but like a lot of Coach’s players, the NBA is a completely different game. The NBA is really an individual style game and that is the antithesis of what basketball really is and certainly not what Coach was about.
