Sorry for the Re-upload guys. Occasionally youtube's AI flags one of our videos (usually ones that have to do real life warfare or firearms) and labels it unsuitable for advertisers. We usually don't fight it but this time around their system really got it wrong. On top of that a manual reviewer who probably already was checked out for the holidays sealed the deal. We decided to take out a few shots we thought might have offended their AI and reviewers so hopefully this time around it won't get flagged. Any way sorry for the inconvenience, don't worry about the poll we have all that information collected. Merry Xmas -Allen

In the MA5B's defense, it is almost completely made of a very advanced and light titanium alloy. It'd still be bulky, but it would probably be as light as a carbine from our day, and the extra 30 rounds would help in a firefight. We can assume that everything like the round's propellant and the bullet shape and material would be more advanced and higher quality, providing that little extra punch

Right, I feel like this video was a little under-researched. I mean he called Doctor Halsey "Hasly". Covenant weaponry was itself reverse engineered from the second most advanced civilization to ever exist in our galaxy, there's nothing "easy" about that.
@HolyknightVader9995 жыл бұрын
The UNSC does have energy weapons, but their research has been slow. It's usually just Spartan Lasers and whatnot. No small-scale energy weapons for mass infantry use. Plus, it's also probably the budget. Cheaper to make and maintain guns rather than make energy weapons for them. Although, the SDF back in Call of Duty made energy weapons alongside gunpowder weapons, so I can't fathom why the UNSC doesn't have them en masse. Probably to make them look more primitive and less advanced. Also, the Spartan Armor's shields are reverse-engineered from Jackal shields, not Elite shields. Hence why the shield glows yellow like that of a Jackal Major's when it's hit-the shields of Elites and Brutes glow blue when hit. And Elite shields are more advanced than Jackal shields, so again, it shows how far more advanced the Covenant are when compared to the UNSC and ONI. It's not that ONI didn't give a shit, it's just that the UNSC didn't have the technological capacity or resources to mass-produce energy weapons or reverse-engineer more advanced shields; not until the end of the war, that is, when half the Covenant joined them.
@jooot_68505 жыл бұрын
its totally possible that some assault rifles have some small yet potent electromagnetic rails housed in that big bulky frame that provide a little extra punch to each round. @HolyknightVader9995 жыл бұрын
@@DarthNicky The SDF is basically the Innies in CoD. And yet they're more advanced than the UNSC, with its many worlds under its belt. And yet the SDF got to making energy weapons first, because they're not lazy about it. It's more a matter of the UNSC being cheap; it's not that they can't develop energy weapons. We see them making things like the Spartan Laser, and since it was available all the way back in 2531 (during Halo Wars 1) then 20 years should have led them to developing at least smaller handheld energy weapons, especially since they've been fighting an enemy that uses mostly energy weapons, which means there's plenty of Covenant energy weapons for ONI to swipe and reverse-engineer. Halo Wars 1 is in 2531 AD. Halo 1 is in 2552 AD. That was more than 20 years' time. I suppose things like the UNSC Infinity and the Spartan-2 Program really broke the piggy bank for the UNSC.

There's a lot of things you could do to make them as effective if not more then an energy weapon, wich realy aren't that good as games and movies make them out to be. You don't even need to give guns bigger rounds to make them more effective against aliens, you just need creativity.

Yeah your right. Also The UNSC has Magnetically accelerated cannon's (Basically railguns). It's not hard to believe they didn't incorporate it somewhat into their other guns most likely the reason for the bulk given the additional electronics in them. Also funny how they didn't bring up the DMR and the Battle rifle which is more like an actual rifle given it's burst fire and clip size. Also most covenant weapons like the energy pistol suck at actually securing the kill. Also the MAC Cannon is much more versitile than Covenant ship to ship weapons. Also he missed the Longsword bombers which two of them took out a Covenant cruiser. Also they did have fighters like the Saber (Reach) and Broadsword (Halo 4) fighters. That and Falcon's (Reach) where pretty effective at dealing with Phantoms and landing in tighter area's (Main issue they had with the Pelican). Main reason I believe Noble team used it more often and it was great at fire support with a autocannon and some varients had homing missle launchers which handle banshees great. And they had Mammoths which came equipped with small MAC's and were an upgrade to the Elephant which is like a mobile fortress and they have the speed of a tank but are heavily armored. Hope this all helps. Shows the covenant wasn't too far ahead. they mostly had greater numbers and brute force not tactics.

As I told you before in your previous videos, UNSC weapons is lot more powerful than you think. MA5 series is basically an assault rifle having power of 2 machine guns. MA5B for example is made for close quarters and that's why it's basically termed as oversized Sub machine gun. But it's still powerful. Other variants like MA5C and latest MA5D is OP as fuck. AS I said there are 8 variants of MA series so your analysis is unfair And I didn't start ranting about other UNSC weapons. No air support, yeah.... Halo Wars disagrees And there are lots of mistakes in your videos Overall, it's a poor analysis

The Assault Rifle does have shield-penetration capability, at least in Halos 3 and Reach. It compensates for the bulk by being effective at stripping Elites and Brutes of their shields. That's probably why it's so big. Plus, many UNSC soldiers prefer either the SMG, the Battle Rifle, or the DMR, the latter two are far more accurate than the MA5B, and they are less bulkier as well. Also, Covenant Plasma Weapons are basically handguns for the Covenant species that wielded them. To an Elite, the Covenant Plasma Rifle is more like a rapid-firing plasma hand gun rather than an actual rifle. Perhaps that's the reason why they designed the Storm Rifle after the Human-Covenant War.

Poor money management. The reason the UNSC Marines don’t have more of this nice armour, laser designators, Spartan lasers, or they don’t reverse engineer Covenant weapons? The funding apparently isn’t there. 3. They’re misused. The UNSC Marines are equipped for hit and run missions, not take and hold. It’s why they have Warthogs, Hornets, and Pelicans. It also goes a little way to explaining their MA5 rifle, high rof wth a big round keeps heads down. So why are they being used to take whole Halo rings?

I will say I always found Halo’s human technology to be...underdeveloped, especially when it came to UNSC Infantry. Being set 500 years in the future (from when Halo was made), the UNSC grunts have some pretty lame weaponry. The assault rifle is an abomination. Individual Marines and their weapons have no laser sight, no foregrip/ bipod, no underbarrel grenade launcher, no fire selector switch, no iron sights, and no advanced optics. Take a look at the M4 Carbine and all its attachments (in the early 2000’s it was probably more in use with some conventional units of the US Army, as well as SOCOM/ JSOC) and you’ll see what I mean. Next, there are no LMG’s/ Squad Automatic Weapons. This lack of fire support and suppression at the fire team level seriously under powers the Marines. Designated Marksmen’s Rifles weren’t a thing until Halo Reach. There are no airburst munitions, mortars, or smoke munitions. There seem to be no signs or artillery, or even mines. Heavy Machineguns/ HMG emplacements weren’t a thing until the later Halo games. There is no Medium Machine Gun (M240B, etc.) to bridge the gap between LMGs and HMGs at the Company Level, there is no sign of infrared optics, there are no gunships that the UNSC infantry can rely on for close air support, there are no infantry fighting vehicles or armored personnel carriers, there are no jets to provide air support, there is no space to ground bombardment systems (missiles if possible, kinetic bombardment is definitely possible, there are no other rail gun systems other than MAC’s on ships and huge targets/ turret emplacements, the rocket launchers are barely man portable (think LAAW rocket, then MAAWS, etc.), they give off a huge silhouette, and they have no homing capability, the shotguns are still pump actions, and on and on. It’s almost silly to me that 500 years in the future, that’s the best we’ve done. We already have advanced weapons like thermobaric bombs, bunker buster weapons, airburst munitions, cornershot rifles, caseless munitions, and much more. I just could never feel comfortable playing Halo when it feels like they purposely set humans back in their story. All good though, Halo is still a great game series to me.

GODSDAMMIT! I LEGIT GAVE THE SINGLE-LONGEST NITPICK OF MY LIFE IN THE LAST ONE! TL-DR of the last one: 1. Gaming AI bullshit reasoning 2. Meant to fight a different war. 3. MA5B=LMG/AR hybrid. It just works. 4. UNSC marines were usually sidelined during the H-C war because the Covies would just glass most planets anyways. Not every world was like Reach, like it or not. 5. Orbital support was little to none because technology just couldn't match up. 6. Back to getting sidelined, why outfit your marines with overly expensive plasma weapons when 80% of the fighting happened in space anyways? If you can't even win a fight in orbit, than it's a waste to spend much on the ground. 7. Gaming AI is bullshit reasoning. I know I said it once, but I must say it again. I swear to god I've never seen a more inaccurate portrayal of the UNSC marines. Okay, sure, maybe I'm biased, but my friends from Bungie definitely know more than you guys do. Please, MORE F-ING ACCURACY PLEASE! Okay, rant over.

The UNSC's Weapons Tech was on the cusp of making Reliable Energy Weapons, something Star Wars took Much Longer to do (in Legends; Canon is unclear). The MA5 Assault Rifle Series used Titanium/Tungsten bullets, and could trash enemies Almost As Well as Covenant Technology. ONI is suspected of Hoarding Energy Weapons and preventing Technological Advances to prevent them Losing Relevance. ONI is responsible for Causing the Insurrection due to their Meddling Too Much in the Outer Colonies (they had no Jurisdiction there), though this would have been easily defeated by the Spartan-IIs if the Covenant had not come. Smart AI were the Brainchild of ONI, with Doctor Catherine Halsey doing most of the work. Earth was busy dealing with international Strife until after 2170, when several Far Left Groups were defeated, and the American-run UN, which had become a freedom-loving Conservative Group, united humanity after nearly a Decade of War. Humanity only discovered FTL Technology in 2291. Most of Humanity's resources went to Colonization (and the occasional Conflict in the Inner Colonies) until 2494, when ONI's Constant Censorship caused the beginning of the Insurrection (Generally Radical Marxists). Humanity was almost constantly dealing with Some Problem from 2160 to 2525, when ONI discovered a Kig-Yar raider was attacking food shipments on the planet Harvest. The Rest is History. Head-up Displays were common in the UNSC, and Neural Links were invented before the Insurrection era. UNSC Weapons dominted Covenant Weapons in Suborbital engagements, but the UNSC was Significantly Outmassed by Covenant Ships. The Superdense Armor used on Scorpion Tanks is actually a Larger version of the UNSC'S Ingantry Armor, and was Contantly being Upgraded. Additionally, UNSC Weapons use Higher Caliber Weapons than modern Militaries, with the famous Magnum being More Powerful than Almost Any Current handgun at 0.50 Caliber (12.7 x 40 mm Caseless), with the Preferred ammo being Semi-Armor-Piercing High-Explosive rounds. The MA5-series used 7.62 NATO bullets made of Steel-Titanium-Tungsten (Lore says something along these lines), and the BRs use 9.5 x 40 mm Kurz, an especially Powerful chambering. The famous and much-loved M90 Shotgun uses 8-gauge ammunition, and the M7 and M20 SMGs use 5 x 23 mm caseless ammunition, and is Devastating to even Brutes at close range. The DMR is a Semi-automatic version of the AR, and is Exceptionally Accurate, making it an exceptional Mid-to-Long Range weapon, as it can kill most unshielded enemies with One Headshot (Brute Helmets make them hardee to kill). The SRS-99 Series of Sniper Rifles is powerful enough to kill most enemies with One or Two Shots in any vital area, with some snipers (Johnson and Jun) having access tk top-line Armor Piercing Rounds capable of killing Anything smaller than a Hunter in One Shot. There are also Many Gauss Cannons seen in the Games and Lore, witb Iohnson fielding a Prototype Gauss Sniper Rifle in the book Congact: Harvest. The UNSC Scorpion Tank has a 90 mm main gun that outperforms modern 120 mm cannons, and can take multiple hits from the feared Wraith Tank. Lasers were fielded on the Experimental Sparrowhawk, and the Exceptional Spartan Laser needs no introduction.

The UNSC Marines didn't just use the MA5B Assault Rifle, the BR55 and the BR55 HBSR were used by the UNSC Marines as a standard issue and marksmans rifle. For heavy engagements the UNSC Marines uses the M808 Main Battle Tank. The UNSC Marines Air units are usually intended to support ground forces or drop off vital supplies for Marines, either in a close-air-support or air interdiction roles. The M12 FAV rolls over due to its high speed. Also Since late 2552 the UNSC Marine Corps uses the MA5C Assault Rifle, which has a magazine size of 32 rounds and a rate of fire of 650 rounds per minute.

1st. frack youtube 2nd. frack youtube 3rd. ONI is pronounced as Oh-Nee 4th. ONI stands for the office of naval intelligence which does oversee research but calling ONI the engineering coups is ridiculous 5th. frack youtube 6th. KE=.5(M(V*V)) so no matter how a slug lobber propels the projectile you can only really do 2 things make a bigger bullet or make it go faster. EMAs are probably not cost-effective or power requirements are too high even in the far future at least for the man-portable ones. 7th. frack youtube 8th. if there's not a recoil reduction system in that thing than the sheer bulk alone is the recoil reduction in the HaloAR.

3:00 well if you think about it bullets work retarded well especially considering how cheap it is in comparison to making some sci-fi bullshit lazer guns. Lasers and plasma weaponry would be highly difficult to field in infantry or personal weapon setting as they would be costly, heavy, have unreliable ballistics, difficult to train, and if you played the halo games especially in PVP multiplayer you see just how much more tactically viable they are compared to most of the covenant plasma weapons and definitely more so than the next to useless Promethean weapons. >Another point I want to add is from a historical point of view in the Halo universe: The UNSC had never dealt with non-human enemies and never with another space-faring civilization of any kind that could field any real game-changing weapons that count (artillery, air support, armored vehicles, Orbital bombardment, ect) these kinds of weapons are in reality in our world and even in the halo universe what constitutes 90% of all casualties on the battlefield since the dawn of Conventional warfare (ww1-now). So it would make sense for the UNSC to focus on building a better navy, airforce and Starfleet navy which would account for the bulk of the fighting, leaving room clearing, peacekeeping operations and asset protection to the Infantry/Marines which were supposed to only deal with human insurgents anyway who lack energy armor or even proper ballistics armor. > If you played the Halo campaigns you'll notice that the Marines are superior to the covenant troops, most of the time you just don't notice it because almost always when Marine NPC's are present there is a vastly higher number of covenant combatants. Normally a marine is equal to 2.5 covenant troops being only obstructed by the elites who have an energy shield, Hunters and vehicles which naturally will defeat infantry almost every time. >The UNSC weapons are vastly superior to the Covenant ones in terms of ergonomics, stopping power (most cases)and range. Even the Alien colonial marine weapons are shit design compared to the UNSC weapons and definitely, the Starship trooper weapons are just about useless. The only massive downside to the UNSC weapons is the lack of Ironsights on many of the weapons (they depend on a microchip HUDto aim) and the fact they change up the variants greatly having their standard issue AR changing radically in operation, accuracy, damage, and size. >Also Marines officially switched over to the M27 IAR which is actually a heavier bulkier m4/m16. Not to say there arent alot of DevilDogs still running m16a4/m4's i didnt want to nitpick that >Yeah fam they alright.

First thing at the beginning of the human Covenant war the UNSC has another sniper rifle called the M99 Stanchion rifle . A 5.4x99mm mini MAC that could effectively kill the Covenant and any thing else. The cost of manufacturing however is the reason they when back to the 14.5x114mm caliber and basically slightly more advanced gunpowder rifles. ONI also developed the hard sound rifle. kinda obvious a sonic weapon that could kill at 915m . They to my knowledge never mass produced it. But some have found their way to the black market and into civilian hands. The warthogs max speed is around 90mph fully loaded . So its basically a humvee. It also came with doors and a armor kit but the marines took them off for ease of entry. And they did/do have other vehicles that can do the same job. Even an APC that reappeard post war. so maybe it falls under we are getting our asses kicked so lets give our military basic weapons because they are cheap and easy to mass produce. Besides we already have stockpiles of the ammo available. Oh and the armor did actually improve as the war drug on with heat resistance gel reducing plasma's effect from flash vaporize to 3rd degree burns. Armor improved, weapons got cheaper .

@3:29; Disappointed with the advance of technology? Something important like surgery. Been going on for centuries. We're still cutting people open with sharp pieces of metal and sewing them back up with string. Something frivolous. From rotary dial, analog, land-line telephones to your digital (smart?) phones in four decades which allow you to send a "selfie" of your ass to almost a billion Chinese in .002 seconds, but take forever to give you the phone number of a Chinese restaurant 10 miles away. Give the people what they want, eh?

Hey guys, This may be a little off topic, but can the UNSC from halo successfully invade the planet of Sera from gears of war? The cause of the invasion because emulsion, the gold juice!! Can the gears stand up against Spartans?? Like delta squad versus master chief?? No covenant no locust, all human war
@WeirdTale3 жыл бұрын
The problem with the Covie Weapons was that the power source for the Plasma Pistol and Plasma Rifles where the most difficult to reverse engineer. One can argue that Humanity already has power sources capable of charging them, but a good chunk of the massive price tag behind shielded Spartan Armor's is the Power source for the Shield Projectors themselves. So it was more of convincing UNSC Command that they needed less Ships in their Navy and more shielded soldier on the front lines. Which again is ridiculous since the main problem of the UNSC was in fact the inferiority of Human Spacecraft compared to Covenant Space Craft in both FTL Navigation, and Speed, as well as Shielding.

Dr Hasley? Bruh Halsey Also, most human weapons use depleted uranium rounds. The assault rifle canonically has the full range of fire modes, as well as modularity retained from the AR15 (the ammo counter can be removed in leu of a scope or such, though any troop with a HUD can utilize smart link) The Warthog is a recon vehicle, not an assault vehicle, despite weapon modularity Stick with the videos of topics you know about... research doesn’t suit you

Talking about weaponry: meh, I mean, the DMR was a pretty solid weapon, just one well placed shot could take out most of the covenant infantry, and an Elite could be easily taken out with combined fire. BR has similar quality. The M6D pistol was also a beast and an extremely reliable weapon, you could take 120 bullets with you, which are potentially 120 dead grunts, also it has a 2x scope, which means that on occasion, it can turn to a marksman weapon.
@blackfire37445 жыл бұрын
The reason the UNSC probably still used gunpowder firearms was because it was probably cheaper to manufacture than complicated laser weapons. On the battlefield, which would be easier to repair? the standard firearm where you could reasonably swap out a part? Or an energy weapon that would most likely require a specialised tech to repair? Personally, I'd pick the weapon that's easier to use rather than the fancy gun that requires you have the added job of keeping someone alive so you can keep fighting. Over-specialising, while nice sometimes, can breed in weakness. A slow death I've heard.
@damienspiers21404 жыл бұрын
The reason they're using kinetic weapons and also have you looked at the M7 that things caseless between the fires rounds that are surrounded by the power and they also have handheld rail guns before a covenant War so you can't say that and made advancements their advancements were primarily focused on colonizing worlds and by the way this is the future so from you know they're using 3.38 Lapua so you can't say that it's actually 762 you can most definitely say 762 is a possibility but for all you know it's actually 338 which is the power of the 50 and it's lighter than 7.62 and also 60 rounds isn't a magazine for an lmg but an extended mag

Even with these flaws, you forgot every marine in this universe knew that next day would be their last, so they fought as hard as possible. And you don’t have to look to hard either. (The marine body in near the end of the library.) (the marines and jackals that fought together in the mission 343) and many other occurrences. In many a scenario, these guys could be stronger then even a spartan.
@thunderbladen86924 жыл бұрын
I mean, Humanity in the Halo universe largely stopped fighting wars for like, three centuries. The last war i can think of was the interplanetary wars, and with colonization to distract humanity, really, they had no need for advanced plasma weaponry. The Insurrection was only just beginning to surface, and the current MA5 models and other equipment was sufficient to fight other humans. In Contact Harvest, one of the characters mentions that a single Archer missile can take out a civilian ship, without breaking a sweat. I'm also assuming that the the MA5 and other gun models are using a more advanced liquid propellant, which is why it has enough power to take out Covenant energy shields. Also, ONI did try and equip a marine with power armor, and the dude shattered his arm under his own reflexes.

"-had it not been for halsey's spartan program, we would have been doomed" ....and if we need THAT kind of program, then maybe we deserve to be doomed "dr halsey your bending history for your own favour and you know it: you design the spartans to crush HUMAN rebellion, NOT to fight the covenant" to me it dont matter what good they did, they were designed to fight and kill their fellow man, no matter the colours they wore
