The quarter for the cart isn’t “cheap.” First, you’ll get the quarter back when you return the cart. Second, the carts last longer when they’re not abused in the park lot, and, Three, Aldi saves money by not having to hire a lot attendant to fetch up those carts 🛒. Four, no feral carts to hit your car. Aldi does all sorts of cool things that save them thousands every day in operating costs. This savings goes directly to the consumer, which is a different business model than most American companies where the savings in operations goes to profit the stockholders. You can buy a little key fob that has a slot to keep your quarter. Rest assured that your cart will be in excellent condition without wonky wheels and parking lot dirt. Everyone wins!

I'm in Germany at the moment, home of Aldi - here the cart usage is not .25 cents, it's 1 Euro! which is equivalent to $1.14 - however, yes, you either get it back when you return the cart, but they also have chips available to use instead

I’m in Connecticut and started shopping at Aldi because if their produce, lol. In other grocery stores, the fruits and veggies aren’t wrapped. You bag the quantity you want. I far prefer that it’s packaged since I witnessed a child pick his nose then touch a display of loose apples. My Aldi always has good quality, fresh, PACKAGED fruits and veggies. That's not being cheap. They figure you won't run off with the hella expensive basket (some people do) if you want your quarter back and you pay for bags to keep costs down. It works. Some of us really appreciate the discounts.

The green bottle cheese thing was eye-opening! I have always heard that the powdered stuff is bad, but nobody else explained that it has *wood shavings*!

I'm shocked they are allowed to even put that in there, i mean if you look at a box of tissues it says 100% cellulose and they put it in freakin cheese! we were basically eating small portions of tissues.
@Allpall5 жыл бұрын
it's not really wood shavings... it's a polymer of glucose commonly found in plant cell walls. so we eat it all the time it's also called indigestible plant fiber. it's added to cheese to prevent clumping. it's not toxic in those quantities.

Great video! Super informative!! One note of...whatever...the graphics are helpful but a bit misleading. The “Avoids” could use a qualifier. Your graphic, for example, said “Avoid: Grapeseed oil” but what you REALLY meant is “Avoid: Grapeseed oil THAT DOESN’T SAY ‘EXPELLER PRESSED’ or ‘COLD PRESSED’ or ‘EXTRA VIRGIN’” But don’t get me wrong, the video is awesome (as are all your videos). Also side note, I’ve been watching you since you had like 30k subscribers. And wondered why you didn’t have more. I just noticed you have over 300k (for those playing along at home...or still reading my comment...that’s 10x the amount from before in a relatively short period of time)! Way to go!

I did look again at the Friendly Farm Almond milk...no carrageenan in it and is only $2.29 instead of our usual brand at $2.99. FF has 10% less calcium, but 30% more vit D, which for the most part, unless your running around on the beach half nakkid and no shoes, you need the vit D more. That's $1.40 savings a week for us...Thanks! I believe it was the FF Kefir that has the carrageenan.

And how can I have that brought in??? They also do NOT carry the Kerry Gold butter??? I bought Beef ribs for an incredible price, AND Sirloin Roast for 3.99 a lb. I have to travel 20- 30 min on the highway to get to the nearest Trader Joe's... So... Market Basket is 1 mile from my house, and their prices are the lowest in the state, AND the Italian cheeses they sell are Italian. Two weeks ago avocadoes were over $1 each, last week, back down to $.69. I do wish they would carry more organic greens too!
