I realized that the secret to making a million is making better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Car or that vacation just yet and that mindset helps me make more money invest:ng. For example last year I invested 70k in blue chip stocks and crypt0 s (with the help of my advisor of course) and made about 380k, but guess what? I put it back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million. Delayed gratification always pays off.

About honey - If it's natural honey it doesn't go bad. It may get granulated, but all you need to do is heat it up a bit in some warm water and it will be good as new. (It also doesn't need to be refrigerated!) I'm just passing this on to you because I saw you toss a jar of honey one time and I was appalled by it. I LOVE honey! I love your videos and watching your faith in action.
@bkjunkie1553
@bkjunkie1553 2 жыл бұрын
This is true! You can reconstitute honey by gently & slowly heating (not boiling) place glass jar in a pot with warm water. Honey will return to usable state. Honey is a natural preservative & doesn't really go bad. It has tons of nutrients but these can be ruined if boiled (also badly burning yourself, it's gets hot fast). Just gentle, slow heating of the crystal's to return to natural state.

I had goals of one-in-one-outs and no-buys for 2021, but life hit hard - my dad ended up diagnosed with cancer (now fully recovered and doing perfectly), my mom had a brain tumor and underwent 12 hour surgery (also now doing well and recovering speedily), and younger brother going through his own turmoil. In short, 2021 forced my wife and I to make readjustments. That said, being mindful of this in past years permitted us more time and ability to be there for my family during those events. Even if you don’t see it right now, you’ll recognize the fruits of your efforts at some point, even in ways you didn’t expect.

@@feylights166 Yes I understand. I have changed my consuption. I dont want to use energy and paper for a book that will stay on a shelf. I prefer a turnover at the library. I'm an author : I prefer 10 books sold, used and reused than 100 sold and used only once. It's not the best for my sells but better for the planet...

@@CitrouilleCitron true about the planet. I have a kindle that I use, as well. But (for me, at least), there is something about being surrounded by books in my home. I am an author, too, but I also just love having books, and I do want to support other authors (though I will buy them used sometimes, especially the book has been out for a few years). I have changed my consumption in other areas though.

Loved this! Always inspiring! I have the same one in, one out rule for TV subscriptions. I am one person and one is always enough. If there's a new show coming out on another service, I'll cancel the one I've currently got and go for the other for a month or so. I am a skincare lover and have MORE than enough cleansers to last the whole year. No buy on cleansers, UNLESS I somehow manage to use them all! No planner inserts for any planner size except the one I use daily. It can be easy to stray when you see everyone else use other sizes on KZbin/instagram.

The public library has so much good stuff for free: print and ebooks, audio books online. I read so much and never have to step into the library. As a professional organizer and at the same time mental carer as an experience/social worker it is my everyday work... however I could use some help with more acting on intentional living myself and you did that for me 🙏. I didn't buy much facial care products in 2021 and will continue in 2022. The covid restrictions kept me more home and be content with what I have... I haven't bought fast food in years--also, Chik-Fil-A is a bad company :( When it comes to books, I don't want to be minimal lol. Part of loving books for me is having them on my shelves, so that I can enjoy them, even after I've read them. I will periodically declutter them, but I'm definitely a maximalist in the book department. Plus, I want to support authors. I haven't splurged in a few years, as I am trying to read through all the books I own that I haven't read yet, but there are always preorders that I make for new releases. I just like having books. Agree about subscription services! I've fallen into this trap several times. Individually, they tend to be cheaper than cable, but they add up fast!

I think this is a great list, and I commend you for your good intentions. I will say in regard to pantry staples considering supply chain issues and emergencies, it might be wise to have a couple months' worth of non-perishables stored away. If you have an issue with multiple open packages, you can store these items in a garage or another room so they are not in with your regular food supply. The channel See Mindy Mom has a couple of great videos on how to put together affordable meal kits made of non-perishables to keep on hand in case of necessity. It may also be that you don't need those items but someone in your life does. Keep track of expiration dates and work them into your rotation if not consumed but most non-perishables have at least a couple of years of shelf life. Good luck meeting your goals! P.S. I would make an exception for Chick-fil-A too!

I only have a few on my "no buy" list as of now: 1. New clothes - if I do need to replace something I'll utilize Poshmark, ThredUp, or the thrift store. I got really bad at buying new clothes off Amazon this year 🤦‍♀️ 2. Books - exception being the one in one out rule. I have several books sitting on my shelf that I've read and several that I haven't read. 3. Bakeware 4. Fast food - you've inspired me to add this one to the list! Exception being if we're on the road. But no fast food at home. 5. Food that's not already on my grocery list 6. Subscription services...this one and number 5 were on my list for this year but I broke these rules :P

I enjoyed your video. I've always had a green thumb but I got carried away. I decided to send pics of some plants to our adult daughters & offer to them. They love gardening & they choose some of the plants. They enjoy sending me phone pics of thier progress. Plus, they love having a plant that I once had as a memory. Besides, they have more outside space. Some of the plants have had new growths that came from my Mom in law & her mom too. So the plants being forwarded have a family history. Our adult children enjoy them. Thank you for your informative videos.

Since my husband and I got married almost 3 years ago, we are practicing being good steward's of our possessions and being thankful to God for all that we have and to find that there is little we need these days. Joshua Becker from Minimalism blog( i think that's the website name) also is Christian and gives great advice too on minimalist living. I learned a lot from your videos and practicing to live simply and declutter and learning these tips helps my mental health and in my ministry to help empower and support other's wellbeing and mental health. Hi :) great video :) thank you for sharing your experience and motivations :) it is inspiring :) I decided to buy nothing (plants, decor, clothes...) apart useful tools for my new professional goals :) or unless really needing it (the example of the holes in pans more than used is a good example in fact :) I am in a work transition :) so it involves to dedicate a lot of time for it and during the learning time, that I chose to dedicate for it, I do not have salary coming in of course.. but it has been a choice to take a time to focus on this dream work project. so the new year goal is to maxi focus on the new professional dream goals :) I am working a lot on it these months :) so I feel to buy nothing and save for letting me the time to learn to create my new work path that I dream :) and then, to celebrate it traveling, that I miss so much, but it will be back , step by step, thank you for all your inspirations and your positive mood 😊 it encourages to live more minimal, intentionally, to follow our goals dreams.. ✨ :) thank you for all the inspiration you offer us in all your great content since years :) you did inspire me so much on my path :) (I am not working on the same field but it allows me to sense how living more intentionally is a path I feel called too :) thank you so much. you are really an inspiration for many people :) and your smile is so contagious :) I wish you all the best for this lovely time of the year and a lovely Merry Christmas 🎄✨💚🌕 (sorry if my English is incorrect... ) I follow you from France, kiss kiss lovely Ashlynne, you shine as a very sweet and kind person :) we can sense it on your videos :) I feel blessed to have met your channel on my path.... you are like a messenger of God..an angel with pure heart..😇🙏🌟 bless you, sincere gratitude, 💓

Wanted to address your art comments. You & your Hubs are both gifted artists & I prefer when artists display their own work. I have my son's paintings hanging in my home and I feel love every time I look at them. I'm a photographer, I print my work on canvas, glass, light boxes, and paper in various sizes and display them. I have 2 inch photos and 24x36 in photos, and my home looks & feels different from my friends & neighbors. I encourage you to review your travel photos and find the one that sparks for you and print it on canvas, blow it up poster size, or print tiny series of photos and display together in 3s. I have 3 tiny photos of historic (nostalgic) restaurants my family luved here in Nashville, but have now closed. The 3 pics of the doors & signs of those small restaurants look adorable on a shelf in my kitchen & when guest see them we share memories of the wonderful shakes, burgers, or pasta we & our community enjoyed there for 30 years.

Stocking up on food right now is a good idea with all the talk of food shortages ... I have been buying freeze dried foods like crazy they taste really good - no additives, not food waste, lightweight for storing, easy. Think about it.

Try to keep take out at a minimum maybe on a special occasion or for a date night. No more cleaning supplies . No books since I obviously can't seem to finish the one my husband bought Mr recently 😕. No decor items No impulse buying No buying cheap products and end up repurchasing since it broke or ripped. No plants No small gadgets No excessive of anything honestly. We've been working on decluttering and have done a great job since we've moved. I've sold a good amount too and keep working on selling more , donations and trashing items that can't be used or damaged. Definitely using all we have until we can't anymore goes with food too. Hope you all have a great weekend take care.

There's a lot of neighborhoods in my city that have little book sharing cabinets. You bring a book you don't read anymore (or few if you want), then you can pick a book from the ones that are already there😁 super great for decluttering your book collection and adding new ones for free!

These are great ideas. I am challenging myself not to purchase any more hair dies and special products. I spent most of 2021 maintaining a blonde head of hair and it very quickly ate up a lot of my descresionary income. I'm going to push through the grow out and get back to a more natural healthy head of hair. I'm also a person who loves stationary items so I'm pausing spending on things like new pens, highlighters, planner stickers and those sorts of things.

I use the library for one read books, the ones I know I will only read once. But, I find it hard to deny myself books, so I visit the used book section of my library and also attend their used book sale, which is held quarterly. It’s a great way to satisfy my love of books for not a lot of money because most books are $2 each.
