Bringing in Ares kids would be cool and reminds me of an idea I had for a future game but a little different. The 2018 was about a Father and Son story and Ragnarok looks to continue that, but what about the next couple games being about Brothers. Specifically Atreus and a new character who is a son Kratos fathered with Aphrodite in GoW3. He starts off as an antagonist going after Kratos and Atreus due to being manipulated by the Ghost of Athena. He has the Blade of Olympus and is just angry and vengeful for what he believes was Kratos killing the Greek Gods and Abandoning him. First game ends with Kratos death at this sons hands, albeit accidentally, but Kratos. knowing he was manipulated by Athena and his character growth these last 2 games doesn't blame him and urges he and Atreus take care of each other like brothers should. We can call back to Kratos brother Deimos and how Kratos failed to protect him and all that. Could be fun and we can continue with Atreus and this new son as the Player Characters in future games.

Kratos is apparently prophecied to die from the last game. And him dying, by the hand of a son but choosing to show that son compassion and love would be perfect for his current character arc and would be a fitting end for him.

If they're going to bring in any surviving Greek gods, I think they should at least include Artemis. Being the Goddess of the Hunt, she'd be the one who could track Kratos all the way to Scandinavia. I think that would be pretty cool, whether she goes solo, allies with Odin, and/or leads other Greek gods.

Now I could be out of the loop,maybe he said he would or wouldn’t. But honestly I would sit down and watch him play this game. Watch him explore as Kratos and Arterus (Sorry if I misspelled it) and listen to him talk about different legends and stories,and comparing them to the game. To listen to his critics and praises on either how they followed the stories or how they make them unique and special. While I love his “everything blank got wrong” series I would love to watch and see a live reaction. I might of missed him something about not doing it or confirming he would since I will admit I haven’t seen all of his videos,but that’s my thoughts. I know not everyone likes this channel or this KZbinr but I enjoy his work and as someone who also loves mythology and stories I find a lot of enjoyment in his work.

Caution: Spoilers ahead! For y'all, some things he talked about like some faye flashbacks, atreus becoming loki, angrboda showing up and playing a main role, heimdall, freyr and other cool vanir and aesir god showing up like hldsvini and sif, even thrud, then surtr showing up, tho not a fire giant but surtr being the literal ragnarok in the final battle and also being the accidental cause of freyr's death and all happened. On the other hand, all cool things we didn't get were like being able to wield mjolnir, and then some other cool aesir and vanir gods not showing up, the ship of nails being absent and all. Oo also the musphelheim giants not being there, except for that, that's it I guess. It was honestly a good game, the side quests were great too. Great job by santa monico. Edit: And also, I think kratos got proper happy ending, by redeeming himself. Also now that he knows that atreus has grown up and can be safe without kratos and even found a potential love interest is cool.

Mythology guy, here are the answers to what you'd seek regarding your video. You get to see and speak to faye in dreams, we have unique bosses to each realm, we meet surtr since he's by himself, Skathi is dead letting herself freeze to death after killing thiazi. But we do ally with asgards enemies. One we've already met. The ship of nails doesn't appear but we get to see njords ship (the greatest ship in the world that can fly too) Surtr plays his part in ragnarok and we help him wake up that beast. Also in sutr's focus to destroy ragnarok, freyr stays back long enough to get the main crew out alive and dies. We sadly don't get the chance to wield thors hammer since odin kills thor and strikes the hammer away before that big fight begins. Also once odins dead, the realm is about to be destroyed so they didn't have enough time to retrieve the hammer However we do get a spear including an enchantment from draupnir to make countless more spears. It's not shown how fenrir and the world serpent were born but instead fenrir was a sickly normal wolf that died. Later Atreus uses a giants soul he found to give a very big python its soul but was later said its different now getting much bigger. (probably hinting that was the same serpent but younger) We swap out Garm's body with fenrirs soul to have giant fenrir and helps in ragnarok. The serpent is shown to be sent back in time right before the final fight we have with thor. Also Loki turns into a bear in our first boss fight and a wold during his rage fight sequences. We get to fight heimdall in a boss fight, we meet thurd, and sif. We don't see njord but we meet freyr. We meet tyr....twice. Kratos reveals his family drama to freya during the quest to sever her bond to midgard. She starts to hear how he knows her pain on family dramas including deimos and calliope. He also mentioned what happened to the sisters of fate when mimir thought all that happened was exaggerated only to basically say "No its true. all that happened with those three happened. Then I used their own power to start the end." As for tyr being the bridge to other lands.... that won't be an option any time soon as The tyr we meet at first isn't him but odin in disguise. We meet the real tyr on a mission after ragnarok ends but that tyr needs time to soak it all in before travel is an idea. Also... Kratos was briefly in Egypt in the small comicbook series that fills the gap of where kratos was beforehe arrived in midgard. After the events of God of war three, he travels to Egypt before eventually ending up in midgard. While in Egypt, Those people recognized him while he constantly tried to get rid of his blades. He also helped kill a giant crocodile (possibly amut?) who was attacking people. Kratos eventually ends up in midgard after sailing that way where fayes wolves found him. (Final note: Kratos called atreus "boy" most if the game but faye had a nickname for Kratos. it was "Grumbles" for him grunting alot as an answer.)

well asides from new pantheons from Egypt, japan etc. one thing a friend of mine has said that if kratos could get one last hurrah before he died is if kratos could somehow be a part of the story of Gilgamesh and though he put in an interesting way, its mostly hopeful fan thinking (not that its bad) and (hopefully this won't be spoilers but just in case; info from GOW:R) the thing is maybe the next stop is scotland and/or ireland as many people are saying/pointing out mimir has talked about HIS homeland with some of what he says sounding very familiar like the story of a "Thane king" and him and his sprite friends being "goodfellas" has people thinking mimir's real identity is being PUCK; Oberon's assistant! as in the KING OF THE FARIES!

spoilers for ragnarok but... 10. absolutely comes true. 9. true as well, different bosses and minibosses all over. though no fire giant enemies. 8. happens too, not the ones you mentioned, but freyr has a camp of various people like elves, a traveller, etc. you ally with freya, freyr, tyr...*cough*, not to mention even ratataskor, and an army from multiple realms 7. sadly, no fingernail ships. there is a hel army, it might have rode on it, but we didnt explore it. hel does have a good role otherwise though. 6. not only is surtur and his flaming sword pivotal, but he even kills freyr. 5. sadly doesnt happen. but some cool leviathan axe v mjolnir moments. 4. kinda happens. he does create fenrir and jormungander, and become friends with angrboda which may become more. he also gets really sneaky and mischevious, and 'works well with chaos' in his words. also the animal shifting comes too. 3. well, odin, thor, sif, heimdall, freya, freyr. its more than 2018, but still not everyone you wanted. 2. we got the regenerating spear. but theres a big 'get away from the past and change' theme. so very little from his past. 1. opened the door for a sequel of atreus going off on his own adventure, which may lead to new pantheons. but nothing explicit sadly.

more on the point of Kratos wielding Mjolnir, I can already picture how it could be used for puzzles and it's quite simple, weight puzzles. The hammer's defining feature is that it's heavy, give us some really heavy pressure plates that you need the hammer to depress or a pulley system that you need to weight down to use as an elevator. Also, on the point of 'Kratos can't use Mjolnir, he doesn't have the gloves' you know who *does* have the gloves? Thor. If Kratos is gonna steal Mjolnir from Thor's body, he could quite easily steal the belt and gloves. I can see you needing to buttonmash to pick up and swing the hammer to finish off Thor, then Kratos steals the belt and bracers which explains why he can carry it so much easier after the fight. This could also play into puzzles, maybe there's something that even Kratos isn't strong enough to lift or it's too slick for him to grip, but the enhanced grip and strength from the belt and bracers allow him to utilise them.

My theory/wish for the end of this game was that Kratos kills Thor and takes Mjolnir and passes Leviathan to Atreus. Even if Kratos doesn’t get Mjolnir, I do want Atreus to eventually wield Leviathan, it’s basically all he has left from his mother. Especially if he eventually grows bigger and becomes tall enough that Leviathan is basically a one handed Hatchet for him.. that would be dope, make Loki about Tyrs size..

Although these games are amazing, probably the best ever, and I'm currently enjoying playing through Ragnarok, I would personally love for some Norse Myth inspired media one day, that don't misrepresents the Jotnar as Giant. I don't understand why people keep making this mistake, it is not that hard to do some research into the Jotnar.

The thing I want the most from Ragnarok is more implementation of the story of Norse. Like, Fenrir Killing Odin, Jörmungandr killing Thor, etc. So basically Kratos will be indirectly responsible for their death but it would be due to those reasons that they DIE. I honestly don't want Kratos wielding Mjölnir but if he does, plz don't give him Lighting powers because that's not how Thor's powers works. I won't be dissapointed if they did, I'm sure they could come up with a really good reason but I don't want to see that.

I agree with all of these but one I know they won't do is greek gods appearing to fight Kratos. In the last game there would be mentions or cutscenes which worked. They probably wouldn't mix greek gods into the boss pool they have or they could confuse people who don't know norse mythology, especially if its gods we haven't scene kratos fight in the first 3 games. Awesome idea just unlikely.

After playing the game, I can tell that probably they will go for Celtic due for 2 reasons: Atreus is looking for giants, and Egyptian nor Aztec mytologies have giants, Japanese does but eh, theyre kinda skelly ones. Mimir is stated to be from where the Celtic gods are, he mentioned it a few times in God Of War 2018, and in God Of War Ragnarök he talks about Nimue.

SPOILER ALERT Sadly as much as you, I and almost anyone who has played the last game wish that we will wield Mjolnir, it doesn't happen. They could have easily justified Kratos wielding it, heck they could even have made it just for New Game plus.

So my only problem with the whole other Greek gods coming after Kratos is that they have hinted that the Egyptian gods also exsist. And there was plenty of cross over there.. hell some of the Egyptian and Greek gods had kids togeather.. so maybe if they head to Egypt next...
