It's a good thing you're not endorsed by The Catholic Church. Because of you trully new ANYTHING about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, you would know that truth is that we know and practice The Bible, and we abuse by its teachings so long as it is translated correctly. And THAT IS THE TRUTH. We know as well as any other Christian Faith. Lastly the TRUTH IS we are NOT MORMONS. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Short for calling us Latter-Day Saints, and THAT IS TRUTH. We are not Mormons any more than Catholics are Lutherans or Baptists are Methodist. The Ancient Prophet Mormon abridged and compiled the other books in The Book of Mormon. God does not call His Church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Mormons. That dear folks IS TRUTH.

Why not make videos about getting together with the mormon church, and not about trying to keep your members out from it. How about more positive videos about them. Make more peace than separation. Even most mormon channels aren't bias to other religions. How about praising each other, not against. Even if your voice is somehow calm, your words hurt, to an extent of people at least. But I didn't like the fact that the missionaries act out a lot of this information and only discussed it with me when I asked them about it. And also that they try to get me into the church just after the second meeting with me. That's like asking someone to marry you after the second date. Mormons whitewash and can decode their religion to make it more palatable. We think people should have as much information as possible so they can make as good of a decision as possible.

First off, I’m not Catholic. As someone who was born and raised in the Mormon world for 56 years, I’ve never heard it all stated more perfectly and more hysterically! All true! I left the church after a lifetime in it for a lot of other reasons 14 years ago. As this young man is stating, he could go on and on, and he indeed could. And it’s not to be mean. The Mormon people are basically fabulous people but that’s the problem. Their deeds and their kindnesses, and with some, their wealth is all quite impressive but that’s the problem! All the far out things you must do, unfortunately, are not going to save them, but it “feels” like it especially if you’re living all those rules. You develop a sense of entitlement and feel special because you do all those right things. Understanding the word of God, venerating him and giving him your heart, and simply loving others as he would is Christian and way too “simple” but is what it takes, yet it’s very difficult for them to see since they are so busy “working.” A confusing, exhausting, religion that will take everything you have from you, along with our Savior, Christ himself, which is the saddest thing of all.

I became a believer in Jesus at age 22, after years of Catholic indoctrination. Over 15 yrs. of Cath. education, and never once was the substiutionary atonement of Christ mentioned. Instead, they taught that because you are a sinner you made Jesus suffer and die because of your sins...therefore you need to do tons of things to attain salvation.....sacraments, confession, make someone else a Cath. who isn't one, go to Mass, etc. So I was overjoyed to discover i didn't have to worry about those things anymore....Christ took the penalty for sin upon himself. I liken Catholicism to what's spoken in Romans 7......all the terms of the law cannot justify you before God. And that's what Catholicism taught all of us......blind obedience to terms of the law. There are some Catholic believers, like me now, but possibly stumbled onto the gospel by accident, like I did.

I’ve been an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 2013. I even served a mission for 2 years for the church in my mid 20’s. I’m extremely familiar the doctrine the church teaches. Everything that was said in this video has been falsely said about the church and it’s belief for years, this guy just read a bunch of Anti Mormon books and is regurgitating them. He has not actually studied what members of the church believe. As an actual member who knows what’s taught and believed in the church, almost everything that was said is either completely misrepresented or is false. As a member of the church I have a very personal relationship with my savior Jesus Christ, I am often influenced by the Holy Ghost which influences me to want to do good and serve others like Christ served. I believe it is only through faith in Jesus Christ that I am saved. I have felt the guilt and shame of sin washed from me because of my faith in the Lord which faith has lead me to repentance. All the blessings I enjoy in this life have come from my Heavenly Father and my Faith in my Savior has come to me because of the doctrine that’s taught in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Everything said in this video is false? You are either ignorant of teachings or you are lying. You don't teach a baptism for the Dead? Your own website says you do. I'm not alone you can't say that everything was wrong. In fact, many Mormons and former Mormons have all said the things in his video were true. We're mostly true but with a few understanding. That's more accurate than your extreme position with shows you probably didn't even watch the video. Another thing, the Mormon website says that the father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three separate beings and three separate Gods. We stated that in the video. So again, everything in the video was wrong. They were correct, with the exception of maybe the caffeine one because you like everything else the Mormons have changed at this also subsequently.

@@CatholicTruthOfficial Your exact words: "They actually baptize people who are already dead." Really? We baptize dead people? No, in the temples, baptisms FOR the dead are performed by proxy. There are millions and millions of people who lived on the earth and never had the opportunity to hear the gospel, and many didn't even know of Jesus Christ, the Savior. Our Father in heaven is a loving, just God, and He wants everyone who ever lived to have the opportunity to hear the gospel and have the chance to accept or reject it, so if they didn't have the opportunity to hear it in this mortal life, they will be given the chance to hear it in the Spirit world after they die. And in reference to your comment about an atheist; just because someone does the proxy temple work for someone else who has died does not guarantee that he will be saved in the Celestial Kingdom. Only God knows our hearts, and if we have the chance to accept the gospel in this life and fail to do so, well good luck with that! But God is our final judge. It's not for me or you to judge who goes to the Celestial Kingdom (heaven, if you like that word better) or not. But, again, everyone who didn't have the chance here to accept the gospel in this world will have the chance in the spirit world. The Bible makes reference to "work for the dead", in other words, proxy baptism. 1 Corinthians 15:29 in the New Testament says, " Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

I'm on a personal journey to learn more about Jesus. I'm talking to Mormons weekly now. They are super kind and very caring about me and my family. Atleast appear to be. They want me to attend their church and be baptized. I'm not sure about it, as I attend a Baptist church already & was baptized there. I have no intention on converting or anything like that. I just enjoy talking to them about God and they make me feel better about myself. I've been in recovery for about 7 years now and trying to strengthen my relationship with God and teach my kids about Him also. But anyways, yes, i find them a little strange but I feel as I'm helping them feel like their mission isn't for nothing. I'm sure they get turned away and shunned on a regular. So I talk to them and allow them to visit and pray with me and for me. I text them throughout the week and let them know someone cares about them. I have seen videos on how they are treated and sometimes looked down upon if they aren't doing enough of this or that. I feel extremely sad that this happens to such good young people. I figure they don't realize what's going on in their church at such a young age (as they are about 19 or so).. but anyways, I'd consider them a friend. As they grow, they'll become more aware and probably leave anyways..as many already have. They aren't pushy about anything in my experience with them.. they just seem genuinely good-hearted & loving. I wish the best for them and hope they have a good future. I pray for all that are lost. Much love - from a stranger in WV. 🙏✝️❤

As a son of a mormon mother. I need to correct you in a small detail. Coffee and tea are not allowed. Yet drinks with caffeine in them are allowed. The church never "upgraded" the "laws" to include cafinated drinks. Joseph Smith claimed that God told him that coffee, tea, and tobacco were bad. Yet it took a couple of generations to eliminate them. Historical records show that Joseph Smith, among many others, still ordered coffee for their trip out of N.Y. The younger generation, however, was not allowed to partake. As for these days. The Mormon church claims that it has nothing to do with caffeine. It is all about doing what God tells us to do. So I’m an atheist and I always find it interesting when one religious person turns the microscope on another religion and sounds incredulous at some of their beliefs. This guy is spot on with his analysis of Mormons believing some outlandish things. But, um, so do Catholics and Christians in general...
@CatholicTruthOfficial5 жыл бұрын
We are discussing within the realm of religion. There is a reason Christians don't accept Mormons as Christians (whereas most accept Catholics as Christians) because Mormon beliefs are so far out there, more than most religions. There is a reason archeology has found many many things within the Bible but cannot find anything to verify the Book of Mormon. And to be fair, atheists believe some outlandish things too. We all came about by nothing, from nothing, because of nothing, it just happened. Nothing made nothing, and even though only nothing existed, nothing somehow made something, and even though that something is dead, that dead stuff somehow made everything. ... Or worse, it was all just there for eternity. No explanation.
@rkane195 жыл бұрын
Catholic Bryan I don’t know any atheists that would say that’s what they believe. Most would say first and foremost that they don’t know how everything started. But modern science currently points to a universe that began close to 14 billion years ago.

@@rkane19 I know countless atheists who postulate this. So I would agree with you that many admit that they don't know. To which I respond, "If you don't know, then how do you know it's not God?" But in reality, it's hypocritical for them to demand that Christians have all the answers,when they themselves admit that they don't have any. Yes, I understand the big bang and how the universe came to be. And that a Catholic priest was the one who discovered and outlined that theory. Where did the Big Bang come from? Where did all the time, space, matter, and energy come from that created our universe?

Catholic Bryan I don’t “know” it’s not God. That’s kind of my point. At this time I don’t see any actual evidence that a god exists though. Hey! I am a Mormon. What this man is saying is kind of true, but its totally wrong. For example, we do not baptize dead people. What we do is we find family members or members families and we take upon the baptism for them. We DONT BAPTIZE DEAD PEOPLE. We do not believe in multiple gods. We believe in our Heavenly Father, and Jesus and the Holy Ghost just work together to serve the same purpose: to help guide us in the plan of salvation. We dont know how god was related, so i dont know where he is getting that god was created by another one. Ive always wondered that. Satan did not rebel, but he wanted to force everyone to choose the right, but we are giving free agency, the ability to choose. We DO NOT believe that Cain participated in the rebellion, because there is no way he old have gained a body. It is not black skin he was cursed with. He had a black mark on his forehead and he was the only one that was cursed. I’m frickin brown, so, guess im a devil spawn. We do not believe in POLYGAMY AND WE DID NOT HAVE TO PRATICE THAT. He is talking about B.C and this is bull rap, and he is stating all these things that are not true. We do also believe in the Bible, and we also read it! The person who made this video has read the book of Mormon, doctrines and Covenants, the great apostasy, the book of Abraham, the word of wisdom, and a lot more. So he knows what he's talking about. He also put many quotes in the description section of this video.

i know something about mormonism, i was raised mormon. and i'm here to say mormonism is a cult. your "testimony" of the book of mormon is a lie. you're lying to all non mormons, and you may very well be lying to yourself. lies come as natural as a babies smile to mormons. the big lie you're trying to advance is that mormons believe in the book of mormon and that tmormonism advances biblical christianity. let's put truth to the lie. what you really believe is that there is more than one god and you can become a god too. does the book of mormon teach polytheism? no. name one verse in the whole b/m that teaches polytheism. so, putting truth to the lie, what is the big advantage you seek with the b/m. it's very simple. once you get people out of the bible, they're susceptible to any blasphemy the mormon church wants to present. when exactly do you think the general populous will be ready for the "meat"? i may be of assistance on that matter right here and now. embarrassing mormoisms: adam is our god the only god we have to do with god and mary had sex and that's how jesus came to be the blood of righteous jesus does not cover all sins. there are sins a man must atone for with his own blood there's no heaven and no hell. no hell, no need for a saviour to save from hell. there's 3 degrees of glory. you save yourself in a degree of glory according to your works. if you keep all the commandments you become a god in the highest degree of glory. polygamy is absolutely necessary to be a god. all gods have lots of wives that they copulate with to make spirit babies and populate other worlds with.

10 things a Mormons will tell you (From an actual member) Note* My aim isn't to debate but to clarify what we believe in. I have organized this into sections and have given my options and church doctrine from things I have studied over the last 24 years. Ultimately regardless of what you read or hear, we extend the invitation to come and see what we're all about and then ask God if what we are teaching is true. He doesn't lie 1# There are Millions of Gods. Trinity: Yes we believe God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are 3 separate beings. Ex: Jesus Christ when he was baptized, God the Father said he was pleased with HIS SON and the Holy Ghost descended in a form of a dove (3 different beings at the same place) John 3:16 the Father send HIS Son to Earth, not himself Throughout the bible, Jesus says He and the Father are one. The number one is Hebrew for unity. The bible doesn't condemn multiple God. "know ye not that ye are gods" was the reference Jesus replied to the Jews in John 10:34 he quoted scripture in Psalms 82:6. The reason why the Jews killed Jesus was that He called himself a God. It was blasphemy to think such a thing. We are also the offsprings of God (Act 17:29) meaning He is the father of our Spirits. We are also joint-heirs in Christ (Romans 8:17) and If we suffer with him, we will also be glorified meaning everything that the Father has will be owers. Thus receiving the title of God. I don't think it's that ridiculous if you have an open mind about it. 2, 3 God becoming a man I admit this notion is a bit far fetched but if you can just have an open mind about it. It might not be as ridiculous as you think. I see are the ultimate evolution of man (This is not church doctrine this is just my opinion of how I understand this topic). Is gives members of the church a sense of purpose to be good law binding citizens. If that's what they believe than good for them. It makes logical sense if you believe all the variables. I think reincarnation is a far fetched notion yet we don't bash on Budisim. God is not Spirit following the Savior’s Resurrection, He appeared to His disciples and said, “Handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:39). Some have suggested this was a temporary physical manifestation and that when He ascended to heaven He shed His body and returned to His spirit form. But the scriptures tell us this was not possible. Paul taught, “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him” (Romans 6:9). In other words, once Christ was resurrected, His body could never again be separated from His spirit; otherwise He would suffer death, the very consequence Paul said was no longer possible after His Resurrection. Spirit Wife....wtf? Umm if you saw the inside the vail viral video on youtube you could hear the role of woman in the church. They are to be priestesses and goddesses to their husbands. Spirit wife is fake teachings unless you can provide evidence that can change my mind. Y'all should believe in the 3 levels of heaven also. In 2 Corinthians 12:2, Paul sees a vision of a man being caught up into the 3rd heaven. Deuteronomy 10:14 also says the God belongs in the highest heavens (meaning there is more than one) #4-6 Spirit Realm, Blacks and Polygamy It called the Pre-Mortal Life, we were there in the war in heaven as recorded in the book of Revelation. We are not the only church that believes this. The bible teaches us 'Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee' Jeremiah 1:5. Meaning we lived with God before we can to Earth. Think of it like Superman being sent to earth. We all like Superman....right? Satan and Jesus are brothers.....we are all brothers and sisters spiritually. It makes sense. For more information about the whole plan of life here is a link to the manuals ever LDS missionary uses to teach you www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/preach-my-gospel-a-guide-to-missionary-service/lesson-2-the-plan-of-salvation?lang=eng 2 Nephi 5:17-21 does say a change in skin color but you wrong when it comes to if you convert you'll be blond and blue eyes. The prophets have taught us that the skin is a curse of wickedness as found in the book of Mormon but it was also a literal change of pigmentation, thus the generation of all Hispanic, and Polynesians, Native Americans and all other color races whom origin being in the Americas. Now converting into white skin and blond hair blue eyes is false doctrine unless you can change my mind. Polygamy/Black in the Priesthood: Old news why are we still covering this? The Catholics and other churches make changes all the time. LDS members now have a 2-hour church instead of 3 hours does it make it a false church....no it just means we believe in continual revelation. God still speaks to man today, the heavens are not closed. You need but ask three questions First, does God love us as much today as He loved the people to whom He spoke in New Testament times? Second, does God have the same power today as He did then? And third, do we need Him as much today as they needed Him anciently? If the answers to those questions are yes and if God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, as the scriptures so declare then there is little doubt: God does speak to man today. Church leaders never said anything about Christ being married, or that he was a polygamist. We don't fully understand why polygamy was a thing (my opinion is they just moved to Utah in the middle of nowhere at the time so how else are you going to pass on the generation, just makes sense to me, but again not church doctrine) Same with Backs in the Priesthood don't know why we just do what God says even if it means killing Isaac your son (Lesson we learn from the Abraham and Isaac story, Don't question God just do it). Yes, there are branches off the Church of Jesus Christ but they are fallen much like the Jew in the bible became fallen. If we really want to talk about the branches of other religion we can talk about the branches that stemmed from the Catholic church. #7, 8: 3 Different Heavens & No Caffeine 3 Degree of Heaven: Already explained it but I'll just copy and paste what I said "Y'all should believe in the 3 levels of heaven also. In 2 Corinthians 12:2, Paul sees a vision of a man being caught up into the 3rd heaven. Deuteronomy 10:14 also says the God belongs in the highest heavens (meaning there is more than one). Coffee/Coke: Many people choose how they want to apply God's laws in their own life. Some choose not to drink soda....poor Some others like me live coke and don't see anything wrong if you drink responsibly (Sugar becomes more dangerous than actual alcohol). Coffee is against the Word of Wisdom but although science can confirm there is the harmful effect of drinking too much coffee a Mayo Clinic research found out that " two or more cups of coffee a day can increase the risk of heart disease." (www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/coffee-and-health/faq-20058339) here are also a lot of health benefits but again only in moderation but that doesn't fall in line with our teachings better to be safe than sorry. 9# Baptism for the Dead Baptism for the dead was practiced during the New Testament times. Krister Stendahl, the former Luthern bishop of Stockholm and professor at Harvard Divinity School wrote: In his first epistle to the Corinthians Paul wrote: “Otherwise, what shall they do who are being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are they being baptized for them” (Conzelmann, 1 Corinthians 15:29) It is a fundamental doctrine that if you are not baptism you cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That's what Jesus said to Nicodemus. Members of the Church use their temples to accomplish this biblical practice. Without baptism for the dead, Christian theology faces several difficult questions: what is to become of the vast majority of humanity who never had the chance to hear the gospel or accept Christ? Will God damn all those who have not had this chance? How can God be just in requiring baptism but making it available to so few? 10# John the Apostle John the Apostle: He and other examples are a product of translated beings. Enoch, Moses, and John the Apostle were all translated beings meaning they never knew death. The Prophet Joseph Smith said they are as ministering angles so where are here or in heaven or both means up to them and their busy schedule. Also, lookup kzbin.info/www/bejne/boStpJKdbr1ke80 www.churchofjesuschrist.org/b,rlookups/article/ces-devotionals/2014/01/what-is-the-blueprint-of-christs-church?lang=eng

Thank you for your well thought out comments. If you don't mind, just a few observations. You said that the Trinity is three separate beings. But you failed to mention that the Mormon church teaches that they are three separate gods. Second, the Bible absolutely condemns multiple gods. Anytime multiple gods are used, it's in a way where these gods are condemned. With the exception of sometimes the Jewish leaders were known as gods because of their position above the people, but if you read the Bible, they were not real gods. They certainly weren't gods and other planets as Mormons teach. You said that God is not spirit. But the Bible specifically states in several places that "God is spirit." (Jn. 4:24) Paul never said that there were only three levels of heaven. He only said that a man was caught up to the third heaven. There could be four, five, or even seven. It never says the third is the highest. Just FYI. Christians don't believe in a pre-mortal life. Only Mormons do. Christians also do not believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers. That is just another Joseph Smith and Mormon belief. The Catholic Church has never changed any doctrine in 2000 years. So you can't say the Catholic Church take changes her beliefs, because it's not true. Which is why the Catholic Church is the true church that was started by Jesus 2000 years ago and not one of the thousands of man-made religions that came about in the 1700s and 1800s. You said _Church leaders never said anything about Christ being married, or that he was a polygamist._ -- Well, here are just one: “How was it with Mary and Martha, and other women that followed him [Jesus]? In old times, and it is common in this day, the women, even as Sarah, called their husbands Lord; the word Lord is tantamount to husband in some languages, master, lord, husband, are about synonymous… When Mary of old came to the sepulchre on the first day of the week, instead of finding Jesus she saw two angels in white, ‘And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou?’ She said unto them,’ Because they have taken away my Lord,’ or husband, ‘and I know not where they have laid him.’ And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.’ Is there not here manifested the affections of a wife. These words speak the kindred ties and sympathies that are common to that relation of husband and wife.” … “I discover that some of the Eastern papers represent me as a great blasphemer, because I said, in my lecture on Marriage, at our last Conference, that Jesus Christ was married at Cana of Galilee, that Mary, Martha, and others were his wives, and that he begat children.” … “Now there was actually a marriage; and if Jesus was not the bridegroom on that occasion, please tell who was. If any man can show this, and prove that it was not the Savior of the world, then I will acknowledge I am in error. We say it was Jesus Christ who was married, to be brought into the relation whereby he could see his seed, before he was crucified” (Journal of Discourses 2, Pages, 210, 281, 282). _Baptism for the Dead_ Mormons point to one obscure and ambiguous passage in the book of Corinthians on baptism for the dead. Then they construct an entire doctrine around no information given. Scholars and historians tell us that pagans practiced a baptism for the dead, but there is no evidence anywhere in Christianity or in any Christian writings, or anywhere at all, that it was a Christian practice. Mormons claim this without evidence. In contrast, scholars say that near Corinth where Paul was preaching this, pagans practiced a sort of baptism for the dead. So, Paul was making the point that if even pagans believe in the resurrection of the dead, so should we all the more because of Jesus. Thus, Mormons seem to be using a pagan practice. It's definitely not a Christian one.

I appreciate you taking the time to write this. I struggled to watch this video because of how much was wrong but being spoken like it was fact. I couldn't believe the title said "things they won't tell you" when in fact, we tell ALL these things all the time! In fact, the missionary lessons teach about the Godhead, and also how they are separate beings, and how both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone. It is literally a missionary lesson taught to investigators. The pre-existence and the plan of salvation are also missionary lessons. So is the word of wisdom! If you just ask, LDS members are certainly willing to talk about these things, and if they don't have an answer, they usually suggest asking a missionary, visiting comeuntochrist.org, or admitting they don't know but would be willing to study the question out and get back to you on it.

I'd like to provide some verses to refute the claim that we are all children of God, no matter what. God created time. He never needs to spend time with us to know who we are. He is all-knowing, which means he has always known everything and always will. There is no reason he had to spend time with us before we were created, to know exactly who we are. He knew who you were before he created you. He had you in mind, and knows you better than you ever will know yourself. This is all within the context of time and how we understand time, just because we cannot comprehend it the way that God can. He is outside of time. That is one of my favorite traits of his to ponder. These verses are about the way that Gentiles are adopted by God: God sent his son so that we might receive adoption as sons. So you are no longer a slave, but a son. Galatians 4:4-7 Gentiles are grafted in by God, because of his grace, through their faith. Romans 11:11-24 "he predestined us for adoption to himself . . ." (ESV) Ephesians 1:5 "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!' " (ESV) Romans 8:15 There is plenty of valuable context for these verses, which I encourage anybody to read. The important point is that there was a before and after. Before, you were a slave (to sin), after, you are adopted. The Bible talks about a "spirit of adoption", which would not be needed if we were indeed already God's children. This somehow involves what the Bible refers to as predestined, which I don't fully understand, but it is clear that we are not all children of God. He created us, but it is our choice if we will accept God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

I've been a Mormon in Ireland for 40years, served a mission and open minded. I've looked into the arguments and always look for rebuttal to every accusation. This seems sensible to me. Videos by professor Dan Peterson,Fair Mormon or Jeff Lindsay are good starting points. The Church of Jesus Christ.org is another excellent resource. PLUARLITY OF GODS --- “Now, you know that of late some malicious and corrupt men have sprung up and apostatized from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and they declare that the Prophet believes in a plurality of Gods, and, lo and behold! we have discovered a very great secret, they cry-"The Prophet says there are many Gods, and this proves that he has fallen. … “I have always declared God to be a distinct personage, Jesus Christ a separate and distinct personage from God the Father, and that the Holy Ghost was a distinct personage and a Spirit: and these three constitute three distinct personages and three Gods. If this is in accordance with the New Testament, lo and behold! we have three Gods anyhow, and they are plural: and who can contradict it! … I wish to declare I have always and in all congregations when I have preached on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods.” (Joseph Smith's Sermon on Plurality of Gods). THERE ARE MANY GODS --- “How can we believe this, when we believe in the revelation given through Joseph Smith, which says there are many Gods, and that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are Gods, and that all good men in this Church shall become Gods?” … This explains the mystery. If we should take a million of worlds like his and number their particles, we should find that there are more Gods than there are particles of matter in those worlds. But the attributes of Deity are one; and they constitute the one God that the Prophets speak of, and that the children of men in all worlds worship. One world has a personal God or Father, and the inhabitants thereof worship the attributes of that God, another world has another, and they worship His attributes, and besides Him there is no other; and when they worship Him they are at the same time worshipping the same attributes that dwell in all the personal Gods who fill immensity.” (Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, v. 2, p. 345, February 18, 1845-46). The LDS website mentions a plurality of gods too.

Catholic Bryan We have a different concept of God. The trinity view of incarnation and a three faced Tribune God is purely Hindu from mythrandism. We are told to not worship other Gods, how could we worship that which does not exist? Obviously there’s many spirits in the world. The confusion is we have a different definition of God. Our whole concept completely differs. “The Saints worship one God. There are no competing divinities in whom they put their trust. LDS scripture contains such language (1 Nephi 13:41, 2 Nephi 31:21, Mosiah 15:1-5, Alma 11:26-37, Mormon 7:7, DC 20:28, Moses 1:20), but it is qualified in somewhat the same way that Creedal Christians have found a way of saying "three"-as in Trinity-and yet also one.” Catholics come far closer to worshiping many Gods with their pantheon of saints who can somehow hear their prayers and answer them with churches built and dedicated to them not to Christ. Only we pray only to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ as Christ himself instructed us to. Lastly deification is clearly Christian as it was taught openly by men whom you call saints. Saint Boethius literally wrote the most famous work of the dark ages promoting that topic. The Consolation Of Philosophy. The first book I read that Got me religious and I felt the Holy Spirit Of truth while reading it because he argued it in such a way that it was indisputable and absurd to claim that’s not why we are here. Then I find all but one Christian sect has rejected that idea and given into what was once considered the most outrageous heresy by denying the meaning of life itself. www.fairmormon.org/answers/Mormonism_and_the_nature_of_God/Polytheism

@latter-daysaintbatman26792 жыл бұрын
@@rosejladybugvideos I’m a devoted member too. None of these false accusations are true. I have a list of things Catholics don’t tell ppl or rather they deny it. Latter-day Saints never deny mistakes etc. Some things Catholics don’t tell you: Praying to Virgin Mary is not right Intercession of saints seem more important than Jesus They think Jesus is God and that he is some interchangeable being. Paganism corrupted the Catholic Church a long time ago and isn’t the original church Christ put on this earth. The Catholics have been known for burning many innocent ppl for standing against the oppression and even the corruption of pedophilia towards children and even homosexuality. Being homosexual or anything along that is a serious sin. Thou shalt not commit adultery! His Commandments still ring true to this day. The trinity is the center of their beliefs even tho it’s not three in one. Lastly, the pope declared sexual sin isn’t serious. Well let me tell you this, I will never leave the true church restored upon this earth. Joseph Smith was a true prophet. The Book of Mormon is true. Just as the bible is. Catholics seem to deny verses in the bible and cherry pick parts to bible bash Latter-day Saints. The trinity is false man made doctrine because Constantine and the Nicene councils made it up. Peter never went to Rome when he was alive but his corpse was moved to Rome and he was turned into some saint. Jesus is the Son of God and isn’t a baby. Mary is the mother of Christ not the mother of God. I have spoken the truth of Christ. Matthew 7:13-14 speaks of how few find and enter the narrow gate that has truth and life within it. Many walk through the wider gate that unfortunately leads towards lies, deception, destruction etc. Most denominations will accuse Latter-day Saints of not being Christian. Yet did Jesus teach you to falsely accuse a fellow believer? No. So I will say, we Latter-day Saints are the few who choose the narrow path towards life and truth. We solely believe in the original teachings of Jesus Christ. I have spoken absolute objective truth. Opposition’s opinions are subjective and will be debunked without hesitation. The Catholics have admitted somehow they’re Baal worshipers aka sun worshipers aka Nimrod and his mother being the center of attention. Jesus isn’t the Sun deity and Nimrod’s wife apparently became the “mother of god” to turn nimrod into her son. It’s twisted but true. For Jesus foretold that there would be false Christs who twist and pervert the gospel. I testify it has come true. Nimrod is not Jesus but many don’t realize they’re worshiping the sun god “sola invictus” aka nimrod in the Roman dialect.

If you are really curious about the Mormon (LDS) religion I would actually ask a Mormon. When a non Mormon is trying to explain our beliefs they mess things up and get a lot of things wrong. This video has a lot of topics that are hard to understand unless you have more background and info so dont be so quick to judge. Mormons are not crazy, they can do almost anything that others can do. Yes there are those families who are really strict and don't drink soda or wear clothes that expose shoulders but most LDS families are really laid back and not that strict at all. Yes there still are the basic guidelines to follow but it is the member who decides how strictly they follow those guidelines. We aren't forced to be that strict. Every LDS family that I have met, and I have met ALOT, do drink caffinated soda. Oh, and we are NOT racist in the slightest! Again, if you are intetested in the LDS religion, please don't listen to people who are not LDS. Go talk to someone who is and who will actually know what they are talking about. :)

I have been a very active, faithful, and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day saints for my entire life of over 50 years. And there are MANY differences between The Catholic teachings and LDS teachings. I feel sorry for this individual. One day when he is brought before God(Elohim) for judgement. He will realize he twisted and demolished all of this rhetorical nonsense in the video and be ashamed that he lied and mocked The Gospel of Jesus Christ, when it was right in front of him. And he will be held accountable for his arrogance. I could spell out and list all the falsehoods and misunderstandings this man is trying to lead ya'll away with. But in order to do so it would over load the servers on the youtube mainframe. Do not believe the manipulated rhetoric he is spreading and conveying about The LDS - Church he mentions too many falsehoods to number. And I'm sure glad I'm not in his shoes. This is truth. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. We are the long Prophecied Gospel that was Prophecied thousands of years ago in The Bible - to comforth and be Restored in the last days. We love other Christian Fairhs and do not condemn them for believing different than we do. Yet all other Christian Faiths put great effort into persecuting the members of the LDS Church. How Christ like is that!!?? If you want to know what we believe or dont believe and why it is so. Dont ask rambling individuals like this guy, who is willing to say ANYTHING to appear credible. For one or two examples. We DO NOT BELIEVE there are millions of Gods. We do not believe their are THREE Gods in "the Trinity". We call them The Godhead. We do believe they are three distinct members of The Godhead. God the Father(Elohim), God's Son Jesus Christ(Jehovah), and thirdly- The Holy Ghost. All three are separate and distinct and one in purpose. We worship God The Father, and His Son Jesus Christ, but we do not worship The Holy Ghost or claim the Holy Ghost to be a separate God we worship. It never fails to blow my mind when non church members and apostates tell us what we believe. Which is always false and satan leads them by the hand and their mouths run at lightening speed like an auctioneer spread false doctorine about The LDS Church. We love all of the other Christian Faiths, even though we endure non stop persecution from them. We are in the last days prior to Christ's Second Coming. Differing theology should not cause persecution. We all worship The same Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Considering the perils that are coming are way in the near future prior to the 2nd Coming, we shpuld all be Christ-like and love one another as HE loves us. Not spending our time with abhorrent un- Christlike- riddiculing other faiths, spreading lies and false hoods about them. And helping each other with love through the mists of darkness and sobering days that lie at our door step. May the Lord bless all of Our Christian Brothers and Sisters in other faiths who emulate The Master Jesus Christ with Our words and actions because they are pure in heart and love The Lord. What a sad and pathetic non Christ like and false video. Such false and misleading propaganda has not The spirit of God, but the Spirit of the adversary.😢💔😔 If you want to know what we believe in the LDS Church you can read our Articles of Faith on The Church Website. And if you want to know more of The Plan of Happiness and why we're here Read The Book of Mormon, (another Testament of Jesus Christ), and read the books of Abraham and Moses - found in the Book of The Pearl of Great Price. And The Doctorine and Covenants of The Church of Jesus christ of latter-Day Saints. They are TRUE and will change your life and bring you closer to Our Father in Heaven like you could have never imagined. Adding that increased knowledge to the knowledge of The Bible you already have will bring you joy and help you gain Eternal Life in Celestial Joy in Heaven with Our father in Heaven, His Son Jesus Christ, together with our families and loved ones.❤❤

Even the movie the exorcist was based on a true story of someone who is possessed. I know several People in the psychological field who had to study the difference between possession and psychologically insane. And even psychiatrists and people in that field refer people to priests when they know that it's more than just a psychiatric condition. I suppose I should just be an atheist.And believe that everything came about by nothing, from nothing, because of nothing, and for no reason whatsoever. Lol. ALL of it is false? Sadly, you either don't know your own faith well, or your are mistaken. Or, perhaps you disagree with the other Mormons on this same video who said that much of what I said was correct, but with some misunderstandings. Sooo, here is where just some of my sources came from. HINT: All Mormon sources! 0_o (#4 point on the video) "MORMONS BELIEVE IN A PRE-EXISTENCE" --->>> "The life before earth life. All men and women lived with God as His spirit children before coming to the earth as mortal beings. This is sometimes called the first estate (Abr. 3:26)." LDS website (#2 on the Video) --->>> "GOD WAS A MAN LIKE US and BECAME GOD" --->>> “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret. If the veil was rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by his power, was to make himself visible-I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form-like yourselves, in all the person, image, and very form as a man; for Adam was created in the very fashion, image, and likeness of God, and received instruction from, and walked, talked, and conversed with him, as one man talks and communes with another.” (King Follet Discourse, by Prophet Joseph Smith) (#3 on the Video) --->>> WE CAN BECOMING GODS “In the Heaven where our spirits were born, there are many gods, each one of whom has his own wife or wives which were given to him previous to his redemption, while yet in his mortal state. Each God, through his wife or wives, raises up a numerous family of sons and daughters; …for each father and mother will be in a condition to multiply forever and ever. As soon as each god has begotten many millions of male and female spirits …he, in connection with his sons, organizes a new world, …where he sends both the male and female spirits to inhabit tabernacles of flesh and bones. Thus each God forms a world for the accommodation of his own sons and daughters… The inhabitants of each world are required to reverence, adore, and worship their own personal father who dwells in the heaven which they formerly inhabited.” -LDS Apostle Orson Pratt, The Seer, (Orson Pratt, The Seer, v. 1, p. 37) (#9 Point on the video) "BAPTISM FOR THE DEAD." --->>> “Many people, however, have died without being baptized. Others were baptized without proper authority. Because God is merciful, He has prepared a way for all people to receive the blessings of baptism. By performing proxy baptisms in behalf of those who have died, Church members offer these blessings to deceased ancestors. Individuals can then choose to accept or reject what has been done in their behalf.” (LDS website) (Point #7 on the video) "There are 3 DIFF. HEAVENS or "Kingdoms of Glory" --->>> There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord's commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have "received the testimony of Jesus" (D&C 76:51; see also D&C 76:74, 79, 101). There are many many more which I will be making a big post on in the next few days. I will be showing many quotes to back up everything I have said... God bless.

Catholic Bryan it's not so much that the information is false, but more that it's out of context or a full understanding. For instance, your explanation of the afterlife is a biblical thing (1Corinthians 15, see verses 40 &41especially); a hint of being gods canbe found in John 10:34 (KJV). Also, a correct reading of the New Testament shows that John did ask Christ if he could remain on earth unto the Second Coming. What gets me is that these missionaries told you that it was all secret until you became Mormon. That's simply not true. Mormon missionaries don't have a lot of time to detail every bit of doctrine we believe in; their job is to give the basics - enough to convert someone - but the duty of learning goes on long after conversion. To detail every little thing is just too much for these young missionaries. If you have any additional questions, I'd be happy to discuss them with you and even join you in a video discussion to explain.
@CatholicTruthOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Well, your thoughts are far more rational than all of these Mormons who say ridiculous things like, "Every single word he said is false." Which is just extremism and silly. The missionaries didn't use the word secret. They said that they "don't tell people these things until they join the church because then they will have the Holy Spirit and will be able to understand it." -- Naturally I disagree with the whole premise. I think anyone who wants to consider converting should know all the information beforehand so they can make a fully informed decision. I mean Mormons ask if you want to be baptized on the second meeting. That just seem completely silly to me. How could you possibly make an informed decision. The whole thing is wrong, the whole approach. Thank you for the offer to talk deeper. When I have more time, I may take you up on that. :)
@DannyAGray6 жыл бұрын
Catholic Bryan no worries. I personally did not serve a mission for personal reasons, but I spent years as a mission leader for our local ward. My understanding of seeking a commitment in the second meeting is that (1)it gets the investigator to have the feeling of commitment to a serious issue, and (2)it can help the investigator know to expect opposition. I can understand that. I've seen that it does help. Idk. We can discuss it more at a different time.

@Home Hearth there's no saying you won't see your grandparents if you aren't sealed. You get well might see them. That doesn't mean you'll be a family unit in the next life, or even that you'll be in the same "heaven." Such doctrine, by the way, is not just of the LDS faith, but it is in fact a biblical principle. If you don't understand Elijah, I can see how that escapes you. Regarding polygamy: you do realize that's not part of our doctrine, right? Like...we haven't done that in over 100 years. What in earth is your hangup about it?

Thank you for clearing this up. I just got kicked out of their temple in Palmyra NY. 🤣. I got a very creepy cultish feeling when I walked in there. Now I know why. It's hard to imagine that a cult that's so desperate for new members would be so secretive - it makes sense that its closely related to Freemasonry. Also about being Catholic, it makes sense - that we have such consistency of our teachings and our salvation history makes sense, it follows itself in such a beautiful way. The Catholic Mass is always open to anyone who want to worship God and be truly close to Jesus (just tall to a serious Catholic before receiving the Eucharist - they'll explain why you cannot receive yet...!)

@@GuilhermeSilva-lt6rw : I hear you, but I'm talking about the quotes directly from Jesus that are not vague. For example, take the Eucharist. Jesus said you cannot have eternal life unless you eat his flesh and drink his blood. Here is an exact quote from a Protestant Bible: “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you." "Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise that person at the last day." "For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink." "Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him." "I am the true bread that came down from heaven." "Anyone who eats this bread will not die as your ancestors did but will live forever.” (John 6 : 53-58 NLT) Notice that Jesus repeats this over and over, and also in other places in the Gospel, but non-Catholics deny it is necessary for eternal life. I don't know how much clearer it could be. Jesus lost thousands of followers when he originally said this, but he never retracted it and said it was just symbolic in order to bring people back to his ministry. This is but only one example of how evangelicals make up their own theology then change the meanings in the Bible to suit their own doctrines which they invented. I could give you a dozen examples, but that would take too long.

@@finaldays1455 : If Jesus was speaking figuratively, then why did he repeat the part about "this is my body and this is my blood" about 10 times? Why did he not say he was just using a metaphor? And why did the early Christian under St. Paul practice the Eucharist EXACTLY the same way we Catholics do it today? (1 Cor. 11 : 26-29) "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves."

Mormons feel so entitled and better than anyone else. During a recent storm where we had 120 mph winds that knocked out power in places in Tulsa not one of mormon neighbors asked the 4 non mormons if they needed anything. I tried to tell one of them that there was something in one of their trees he would not even acknowledge me. It has been up there for 7 days and they have children. If it is heavy I hope it doesn't fall in one of them. Also a year and a half ago this neighborhood did not have any Mormons in it. They started moving in after I found out that my husband was having an adulterous affair with a much younger Mormon woman. He doesn't live here with me now, but this young hussy has changed the house she stays in 5 times since the affair started. He, my estranged husband lies and says she doesn't exist, even though she and all her protectors drive by my house at least 20 times a day. Even though his colleagues at work and security have seen her daily with him They also team up to sneak him into her "home" nightly and out again the next day. He manipulated our youngest, 36, to go to court and sign me in to a place for observation because he made her believe I was paranoid. His little jezebel has a license from the state to counsel people who have mental health issues. Imagine that. Also she is from the Stclair family, part of the Sinclair family. Money. He made sure that I have no money, no car and am living in a house that should be condemned trying to blame me for it. I do not know carpentry. The roof has been partly gone for 5 years. Have to empty lots of buckets when it rains. Mold is growing and I cannot get any help. I called the local law enforcement when this all started, they are no help, in fact the female cop showed up and the only question she asked me was "does Dementia run in your family??" Are you kidding me. These people have had me terrified on lots of occasions. They feel that it is ok to harass and scare a 65 year old woman who has no resources at her disposal. The mormons do not care. I cannot talk to anyone at the local morman churches, or at the Temple in Salt Lake City. They are the most ungodly people I have ever known. They all are driving new cars now, hell I would love to have a used. car. I cannot get to the grocery, my daughter and her sperm donor go. I have been out only about 10 times in a year if I can find a ride and I have to pay someone. I gave every dime I had to our family and did everything for everyone. But no one stands up for me. He is in debt as am I but he has a retirement account. We had to use mine so it is gone. We bought a house after we married using my VA loan but the house was foreclosed on after he lost his job. I still have $10,000 to pay on the house..We are behind o doing taxes by 16 years. He never does anything to fix any of the messes. But blames me. I gave up. Nelson said “Book of Mormon is not a true picture of historical event. Really ? Without history, it is work of fiction. Oaks said “It is wrong to criticize leaders of the church even if the criticism is true.” Really? The church has done all of the thinking for you, and you have no right to think for yourself? The Holy Bible says to trust G-d twelve times in the Holy Bible, and not to trust man. Baptism for the dead corpse was pagan beliefs. Mormonism made a "spiritual baptism" for familiar spirits, demons. Becoming god in their own world was the devil second lie. You will be god of this world with others gods after millenium, the synagogues of the devils. The basis of mormonism does attack the Holy Bible that makes the prophets in the Holy Bible an liar. There is no such a thing as magic stones to be used as form as communication or translation from G-d ever mentioned in the bible. The only breastplate were mentioned in the Holy Bible is the plate that hold twelve stones engraved with names of the twelve tribes, with gold to hold fast the stone to the plate. G-d speaks to us everyday at night, the same lesser stars that supposed to rule you at night, the same wisdom at night, the same sign in heaven, and the same kingdom of heaven gospel Jesus Christ taught. Learn Hebrew language. Hebrew is the source of the Holy Bible, you cannot fully understand anything without the source. Hebrew is an visual language in shapes from constellation within constellation. The bigger picture the constellation itself are in few parts and in narratives are in align in the bible telling the things in heaven as it is done on earth. Heaven testify of Jesus Christ, and constellations is the key to revelation and many books in the Holy Bible. Use the key words astral origin of the Hebrew Alphabet. To further understand the source of the Book of Mormon, read these books : Views of Hebrews by Ethan Smith (no relationship with Joesph Smith), Solomon Spaulding Manuscript, and Travels of Marco Polo. You will find many similarities to your book of Mormon. These books are written before Joesph Smith even started to write the book of Mormon. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Friends, its not important what Mormons believe, or Catholics, believe, what Jesus is asking each and every one of us is, "Who do YOU say that I am?" And if the answer is "You are the Christ, the Son of God", and you believe that Jesus was raised by the Father, then you have salvation. God is not the author of confusion, and that's what His Word promises us. Any message contrary to this is not of God, and He gave us His Word so that we could judge all things, including the church to ensure that the church stays in compliance with God's Word, not "we" in compliance to their man-made traditions, and repetitious prayers to the saints, ...Jesus told us how to pray, saying, "Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed by THY Name..." etc...

One tyranny falls, another rises in it's place, the same old lies, just different faces, ...only Jesus Christ can bring about World Peace, all other attempts lead to World Order and mass genocide. It's not that God is bad because He allows bad things to happen, it's that there is the general consensus that we are all basically good, despite the "bad" we do. The real excuse few will admit, is that God does not allow us to do the bad things we so desire, and that's why we hate Him the MOST!

Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil... 22 ¶ And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: They did become as the gods, knowing good and evil.

@FreeThink The devil wanted to replace God because he thought his way was better than God’s. Those who become gods (or as it is worded in the New Teatament: Joint Heirs with Christ) do not wish to usurp the throne of God, but rather join with him, united in one with Him. No one in the “Mormon” church believes we will replace God. No, we believe that to be a god (not a God) we simply do His will in solemnity of heart. We become united with Him (see John 17).

I grew up Mormon. I went to church every week growing up, as well as seminary class in my teens, and some institute classes during college. Mormons call the Trinity the Godhead to emphasize that it's made up of three separate beings. I don't think that's strange at all. Actually, I think it's really weird that some religions think they're the same person. They're only one in PURPOSE. How could Christ pray to God when he was on earth if they were the same person? "Father, remove this bitter cup from me..." I never heard of millions of Gods currently existing, only that we can become gods ourselves, which is a potential for millions or more gods in the future, which is part of God's plan. I see nothing strange about this. I was only told that God became perfect and that's why he understands my trials, nothing about him worshipping other Gods. Actually, I always thought that I as a god, might inhabit my own universe, not just a planet. I don't think that's weird either since I'm a son of God and am born to have his potential. I was never told anything about dark skin and blacks. Never heard it. I've never been taught that I'll be REQUIRED to have multiple wives. If he wants to highlight schisms as an example to doubt a church's validity, he should use Catholicism and Protestantism as an example instead of Mormonism and breakaway cults. Celestial, Terrestrial and Telestial are different kingdoms in heaven, not separate heavens themselves. Those rewards are assigned according to our works in this life. This is not strange. Strong drink is forbidden in the LDS church as the result of a revelation to the prophet. I have no problem with a prophet receiving revelation as in days of old, because.... they're prophets. Mormons perform baptisms for the dead to give them the opportunity to accept or reject it on the either side. It's not a done deal, just an opportunity for them. I've never heard anything about about John walking the earth. By the way, I think it's really weird and blasphemous that Catholics pray to Mary as well as create idols of her.

We are only asking for Mother Mary's intercession. That why we say "Pray for us" to her and "Have mercy on us" to Jesus.😊 The statues are only a reminder of our Mother, the mother of Jesus, because we are humans, we depend on our senses, and it is with these statues that we are reminded of the saints in heaven. Why don't you call out the government for the statues of national heroes? The images of a person in your coins and bills? Why don't you call out artists for making portraits of people? Why don't you burn or hide the pictures in your wall? Idols. You mean like those countless gods of Hindus? Worshipping the statues of gods of many titles. Offering them their clothes, foods, possessions? Mother Mary loves you. Jesus loves you. All praise and glory be to God.🙏

@@ite_ad_iosep this is ridiculous it does not matter what church you go to as long as you have faith and love god and know that god is our father. There should be no reason people argue over which church is true or not. I am a Mormon and some people go to church because they feel like they need to be there every Sunday but forget the real reason we are supposed to be there I mean people who don’t go to church every Sunday can have more faith in Jesus Christ then members or the church.

They do not call the Holy Trinity the Godhead as they do not believe in the Holy Trinity. We call the Holy Trinity the triune Godhead. 3 Persons, one God. You are making the mistake Mormons do in saying we believe in Modalism. No, we don't. Mormons make idols out of Joseph Smith and subsequent "Prophets". They even had a walking stick of his that they reverenced. I absolutely do not want myself to be mentioned in their temples for "baptism". I don't care their explanations. No means no. It will be in my Will.

Latter-day Saint here. I can't cover all the points, but here is one: Actually, I think the reason we don't talk about some of those things is because we don't understand them fully ourselves. The important thing is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and that is what we want to convert people to. The deeper things, you can ponder later. I'll give you one example from the Bible: Revelation 3:21 "To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne." What does this mean? It sounds like we will all gain the same throne as Jesus Christ, through his atonement. Why don't Christians teach that one to new converts? It is probably because they barely understand it themselves. Yes, we do have scriptures about becoming like God (exaltation). But there is no detail about what this means, other than that it involves "the continuation of the seeds forever and ever" (having spirit children in the same way that God does, with references to the Abrahamic Covenant and God's promise to Abraham that his seed would be as numerous as the sands of the seashore. We get the same promise in the temple) and "overcoming all things" and general words like "thrones, principalities, powers, dominions" etc. I've never heard once in Church (or the temple) that there are "millions of Gods." This is an extrapolation of some of our scriptures, so it could be true in an obscure sense (although in any case there is only one God relevant to us and our universe). So it becomes a bit of a game of semantics.Respect for Catholics though! Keep up the faith.

I was Mormon, and now I’m Greek Orthodox. The differences between true Christianity and Mormonism is like saying day is night, and night is day. They withhold all of the information, including that there are millions of Gods. Mormonism is a cult, no more and no less.They may use the same words as Christianity, but they mean diametrically different things. The example that this video started with is absolutely correct in that the “trinity” is the same word, but to Mormons they are three different people of flesh and blood. And they will need to take a bus or an airplane or rocket ship - to get to different places in the universe. It is truly bizarre. This video is all true! They also still believe in polygamy, see section 132 in their Doctrine and Covenants.

I agree and just know every religion is a cult. Definition of cult: A system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.
@wt4604 жыл бұрын
Heather Condie It is also a system of beliefs that are private, secret, or undisclosed. Not apparent by mere inspection and only disclosed to the initiated, only available from experimentation. That is what Mormons do, when proselytizing they absolutely do not tell you the entire story of the founder nor of the full practices of the Church. It is only after they have got you and you have paid your ten percent for a minimum of one year will they allow you to see more in the Temple. This ceremony is bizarre even to Mormons, and many have left Mormonism after one trip to the Temple, but most stick around because they now have so much invested. Only after years of abuse and being taken advantage of will they walk away, then far more wounded and poor than they would have been.

@@wt460 I grew up in the Mormon church before I left in my late teens. Most of what you said is accurate of the LDS church in the same way it is accurate of almost every church, the Catholic church included. Heather Condie is right. Every religion is a cult.

@@gladethompson6994 While we disagree, I respect your opinion. The Mormon Church is not like other churches as the others do not lie, cheat, and steal on a routine basis about almost everything in their original story through today. The worst part is that the leaders of the Church absolutely know what they are saying is false and they know they are hurting people with their practices. They are just sickening.

I used to know a Mormon missionary who told me he and his companion stole a woman’s coffeemaker from her kitchen. Also, they have other additional books they include as scripture, not just the Book of Mormon. So if a Mormon tells you the only difference between their religion and Christianity is one book, that’s not true. These include the Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine & Covenants, and Articles of Faith. They don’t tell you about those right up front, and they advise you to wait until after reading the Book of Mormon and “receiving the Holy Spirit” at your confirmation to read them. They are even more controversial than the Book of Mormon (and most Mormons have probably never read them in their entireties), and that’s why they wait until a person is indoctrinated before mentioning them. Same thing with most of these controversial beliefs they don’t tell you up front; if they can get you to accept the church’s absolute authority first, then they can get you to accept basically anything. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve known a lot of great people who are Mormons. I was a member of the LDS branch for a time, as a matter of fact. But be careful when engaging in conversation with missionaries/evangelists; they have spent a significant amount of time in an official training center to prepare for these conversations, and they know how to be persuasive.
@peppygurl70444 жыл бұрын
Another thing I forgot to mention is that they officially put more trust in the Book of Mormon and in their other additional scriptures more so than they do the Bible. Since part of the basis of their religion is that the Bible is incomplete and has been partially lost or added to in translation/throughout history, and since the books written by Joseph Smith are the same translation today as the originals, they are able to get away with their bizarre beliefs that are in direct contradiction to the Bible. They still study the Bible and draw a lot from it, but when it comes to contradicting beliefs, the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine & Covenants, Articles of Faith, and revelations by their prophets all supersede the Bible.

@@peppygurl7044 Thanks for mentioning the other books of scripture brought to light through the mission of Joseph Smith. You are, of course, right that we are blessed with more light and knowledge than the Book of Mormon alone. I just wanted to correct you on the point of whether most Mormons have read these other scriptures. Members of the church who go on Sundays will have Sunday school. Sunday school takes a different book of scripture each year in a rotating basis. For example, one year we will focus on the Book of Mormon, another year on the Doctrine and Covenants and church history, a third year on the Old Testament and Pearl of Great Price (in which is contained the Articles of Faith - that is not a separate book). We will also spend a year on the New Testament. We study all the scriptures we have been given and are grateful for them all. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the kingdom of Heaven.
