Emre you just spewed bullshit. That has nothing to do with calories burned while lfiting or doing cardio. All you need is hour average HR over a period and you can easily calculate calories based on body mass using relative vo2max estimates. It all depends on the level of intensity you maintained during a given time. To quantify total calories as greater or less for an activity, you need average HR over that time period. That's your measure of intensity.

Steve definitely still burned off all the fat he gained from the previous day of eating (since not all of those 10,000 calories are absorbed by the body) and will probably be at a lower bf % than when he started. Boom, you can out train a bad diet... but you won't be able to walk the next day
@reanukeeves44367 жыл бұрын
Antonio2122 jeff nippard has insanely beast videos regarding fitness and he explained in the video that a huge part is not absorbed/is burned off by internal heat from processing all the food in your body so you are left with 7 or 4k from the 10k calories consumed

That's not how the body works bro. He took in 10k, probably lost 2k in the process of digestion, maybe less since what he ate was mostly fat (very low thermic effect), and burned 7400. So there's probably a net gain of about 1000. However, if we truly count the calories he ate on the training day, and the calories burned from his BMR on the eating day, they are probably pretty close. So, no, you cant.

I wanna see you back to back pass the navy seal fitness test, green beret fitness test, Air Force paratroopers fitness test, marine special forces fitness test, and the FBI fitness test. Cause individually I'm pretty sure you or really anyone who works out regularly will pass these tests with flying colors. They're not especially difficult e.g. Marine special forces is -Push ups for 1 minute, minimum 40, 2 points for everything above minimum. -sit ups 1 minute, min 40, 3 points every rep above min -pull-ups. 6 minimum, not timed 3 points anything above minimum. -Dips. 6 minimum, 2 points every extra rep, not timed. -bench press 80% of body weight, 6 rep minimum, not timed, 3 points anything above -20' rope climb in body armor or weighted vest. 1 minute to do it, pass/fail situation -kip ups for 1 minute. 6 minimum, 2 points each rep after 6. -4 x 25M shuttle runs max time 24 seconds. 1 point every 1/10 of a second under -5 Mile run or 5 mile ruck march with 45lbs dry weight. Run max 40 minutes walk max 75 minutes. 2 pts every 15 full seconds from 35 to 30 minutes. Minimal rest > 1 minute between events. If you don't make the minimal requirement for EVERY event you fail. Lowest passing score is 900. A decent score is considered 1300. Like that's something I'm pretty sure you can knock out no problem. Personally the only thing that intimidates me on that test are the kip-ups. I suck at kip-ups. But CAN you pass that test along with 5 more similar tests back to back?
@chimericalical7 жыл бұрын
I tried it and failed with a score of 975. I failed because I can't do kip-ups for shit.

I'm sure it was no "walk in the park" to make this video (more like a hike up a mountain :D ), but it was really awesome and inspiring to watch: the 10K eating challenge and then trying to out train it. At first I was thinking "Yummy, ice cream for breakfast" but then later started to feel really sorry for you, seeing the pure agony on your face over at Smash Burger, forcing yourself to eat that food. Then obviously the next part where you pushed yourself beyond limits to try and burn the 10K - running, swimming, legs, hiking, etc.Really inspiring and fun to watch. Totally crazy, but inspiring. + Courtney is absolutely adorable and also thumbs up to The Vanilla Gorilla for doing this with you! Loved it! Keep it up!

All you need to accurately assess calories burned is heart rate through the day and total body mass. VO2 max is measured in ml/kg/min, and has a direct conversion to calories at 5kcal/L02. Pretty basic conversion, and the 5kcal is a fairly accurate measurement that everyone in exercise physiology uses as a base assumption.

Steve you crushed it! Don't forget to subtract the increased calorie cost of digesting the food from yesterday and your estimated increased NEAT for both days. If you worked out yesterday (can't remember) subtract that. Plus you need to consider your BMR and subtract what you normally eat to maintain your body weight since your goal is not to go below that between the two days. You'll need to add in what you ate today less it's cost of digestion. In the end you probably nailed it. Great job!

Random recommendation of something I've found to skyrocket calorie burn without the mental drain - a few specific sports: Ultimate Frisbee has been the best for me. Essentially you want something that forces you to sprint hard while you're active but give you enough rest to keep going. Ultimate Frisbee, at high levels has been excellent at that because an elite point can vary between 90 seconds and 3 minutes (discounting the points with lots of turnovers). A single game will probably burn 1,500 calories for a good player who plays every other point - and that should take roughly 1.5 hrs. now put a few longer breaks in there and do that 4 or 5 times in a day (a tournament) and you've completed a large portion of your goal - and you don't have the mental stress of working towards 10,000. You get the psychological motivator of winning. Then you can do whatever else you want to burn of the rest. I like the supersetting things in the gym, but obviously after that much running, I'd suggest intense upper body workouts. All things that I've found to jack up my calories burned over the course of the day - maybe your body works differently though

Your idea of hiking in the mountains is probably the way to go. I recently hiked 50 miles in the hills with a Fitbit heart rate tracker and GPS on in about 15 hours, and burned approximately 8,244 calories. I was carrying maybe 10-15 lbs. If you did the hike with a 30 lb pack, your heartrate and calorie burn would be even greater.
