Hi, great video. I have to say my Grandmother taught me all these "rules" and was a master of keeping her home tidy and clean even when her 3 sons were at home. I've followed them now for many years (I'm 70 in a few months) and doing so helps keep you and your house ready for anyone or anything. My Mom always said, "the President could show up at Debbie's door and she'd be ready to welcome him and his following in as well as feed a gang of 50." Haha! But, it's true. Thanks for sharing your film...a great "refresher" for me and re-affirming.

due to depression, finding the motivation to clean can be so difficult but after watching a couple of your videos last night, I finally managed to get up and gut out the living room, however, I think while the advice of don't sit down is fantastic, I am heavily overweight, obese more like, so after 15mins of cleaning my whole lower back felt like it was seizing up, for anyone else who is like me and has back problems whether from weight or any other reason, if you must sit down, then do so but do it in very short bursts otherwise as mentioned, you won't get back up lol :)
@amasion28825 жыл бұрын
Lord Death: Sorry for your medical issues. Maybe consult with your doctor and be sure your tasks aren’t contributing to your lower back pain. If you have pain relief medication, taking a dose before cleaning might help. Also supportive footwear (for reduced impact on your lower back, knees, and other joints). If you can manage a 15 minute clean a few times a day you can accomplish a lot. And of course not all housecleaning is high impact. Some things can be done seated (folding laundry) or with minimal movement. But if back pain and/or depression are overwhelming you, grant yourself time and space to recover. Your doctor or therapist may have coping solutions to help you.

I'm definitely not a tidying oracle, but to keep things ticking over we have ONE wash basket, which is the same capacity as our washing machine. When it's full (usually every other day at the mo), take the whole thing downstairs, wash and tumble, fold, take back upstairs, put clothes away, and repeat. I don't separate washing though so that helps!! Deffo will be (TRYING!!!) to take onboard some of your amazing tips Emily!!

I love a clean & tidy home, it just makes life so much happier. Before I got married my house was neat tidy and clean, I was a single dad of 2 for 15 years. 5 years ago I met a wonderful woman and we married, but being tidy and doing housework is on the bottom of her list, a messy home makes me so unhappy. I am the main bill payer and I can’t do all the housework too, we have a little boy of our own now so I know there’s less time to be tidy but I hope one day my wife will have some of your enthusiasm. Your videos are wonderful and such an inspiration to everyone I’m sure.

We are doing a major clean out, we always go through toys and cloths, however my daughter is 10 and due to autism has a problem with letting go of certain fav items. So, we are getting to a new stage so it is time to restructure and reorganize, now we have prepared her for this for 3 yrs. we give old toys and cloths every 3-6 moths moths, but this is every closet and room. Furniture and all, it is so great to see the hard work pay off not only in the house, but help her understand hoarding skills, and letting go, even our fav, to others, less fortunate, that will have years of use out of them. Great video and inspiring and I love that we use the dollar store and you use the pound, never thought about other countries having them. Your home looks great and I was so glad to see you getting your children involved!

My husband and I own a business (outside of the home) and work a lot on top of raising our two daughters and keeping up with their busy schedules. I find I’m just having so much more trouble keeping up with deep cleaning. I do pretty go at keeping things picked up and laundry done, but it’s because I only get about 5 hours of sleep a night. So I have recently got a bespoke wooden shoe box made for all my footwear and it has saved me lots of space . I also am getting my first wardrobe assembled tomarrow which means that I can actually access my clothes more easily and find what I want to wear. I will be emptying my storage boxes that had clothes in and put all my clothes and jackets in the wardrobe.I also have clothes that I will be giving to the charity shop this week in my holidays. I think you have just got to work with the space you have in the room. In the past when I have been staying in rented accommodation I found it very tricky what furniture to buy or whether to buy furniture or not as I only stayed there for a year then I sold some of my items online .

I got a price of $8,000 to do that in my house. I’ve wanted it for ages... but $8,000? Yikes.
