As a catechumen, I really don't hear many Christian women being so open about these topics like you are, and I really wish it was the case. It looks like there's a big stigma around them in the Christian female sphere, but there's nothing wrong with educating women about how their own bodies work. Kudos to you 👏🏻
@JasmyneTheodora9 ай бұрын
There is a big stigma! I got a negative comment once because I simply showed a bra on camera (I bought it as a prop - it wasn’t even remotely my size haha). People are odd sometimes 🙃 so thank you!

Girl it is refreshing to see a Christian who isn’t treating sex like a disgusting, taboo thing. I just want to say that this is very important, as someone who wasn’t ever taught these things growing up in a Christian household. Heck I have had interactions with people who weren’t religious growing up, and have some very strange ideas about the female body. I think we live in a culture that glamorizes sex but does little to actually educate, the result are ideas that just add more to women having low self worth (smelling bad, being “stretched”). We’ve just failed to educated people on these things, collectively, regardless of religion it seems.

I had to learn quite a bit on my own via trial and error. Some women swear by feminine washes and my vulva hates them. Wet washcloth is literally all I need. And just think that in my family, we would put a little bleach in the bath water before we bathed when I was a kid because that was what they thought necessary to keep foul smells at bay. Isn't it wonderful that we live in times where we can receive so much help online?

Awesome video. Thank you for making space for women to get more comfortable. Something else I've learned about hygiene is that often times its not your vaginal area that smells, but discharge that has lingered. Something I recommend is being intentional about wiping away discharge during the day so it doesn't linger on the body or underwear. Wet wipes, tissues, or panty liners can help with this. Don't feel ashamed of your body ladies! It was fearfully and wonderfully made.

JASMYNE, THAAAAANK YOOOUUU!!! I'm a young woman who grew up VERY sheltered and I was terrified to ask my parents about anything related to sex and personal health, and now I REGRET IT. It's so, so hard to find a healthy, ethical explanation of how sex should work in a more conservative/modest life view. Now that I'm engaged and on the way to truly "growing up" I'm so scared that I'm not ready for any of it, but again it's so hard to find resources for people who look at the role of sex in life the way I do. Anyway, this video and your others are just what I needed, and thank you, thank you, thank youuuu so much.

I’ve been planing for a long time to sew my own underwear because the ones you can buy are always too small or too tight to not be uncomfortable. My own design is basically exactly what you showed on images. I also prefer wearing a corset over a bra because they are designed to be worn over a layer of fabric that you change everyday. It’s a lot cheaper to have one corset and a bunch of shirts that a bunch of well fitting easily washable bras.

For periods I highly recommend menstrual cups, usually the smell from periods is from the chemicals on pads and tampons. It's been two years since I started to use them and I realized that the "period smell" is very light, I was able to be more aware of my flow, color, texture all that help me to know me better. Usually with pads or tampons is hard to tell all of this. But take some time to get use to and requires more care with disinfection and cleanliness.

Hi Jasmyne, would you consider a video on learning how to receive? Some of us, in the name of being Christian and wanting to please God, have grown up servant-hearted givers. But I hear that the feminine receives, while the masculine gives. How does a 'giving' woman learn to lean back and allow herself to rest and receive from a man? How does her receiving him, benefit and boost him up as a man? Sometimes our nervous systems literally freak out at a man trying to give to us when we're used to being the givers/servers/fixers/caretakers. Love to know your thoughts
