#1: Cannot stress this enough; a watch is a tactile experience as much as a visual experience. Beauty shots often hide thickness, which impacts weight. #2: Ask yourself, "when would I actually wear this?" & "what would I stop wearing to wear this instead?" If you struggle with the answer, don't buy the watch.

Rule one: I nearly fell foul of this. I convinced myself to get Defy 21 on the backing of your videos. I bought online, but was then contacted by the grey dealer to say they couldn't fulfill. I only buy new watches over a certain threshold at a fixed 0% APR and currently have two financed. In this strange case, paying in cash is actually the less savvy thing to do. With climbing annual inflation rates and the retail cost of imported luxury goods set to soar, your savings are far better protected and have greater prospects in a long term Stocks and Shares ISA of managed index funds or treasury-back bonds. Why not keep generating compound interest on your own investments, with the added benefit of letting inflation pay 7-10% over your watch payment term? Otherwise you lose your time in the market (because you're too smart to save in cash) by simply pulling out those savings to settle the bill on the door. This is financial advice but I am just a dog on KZbin. Go forth and chuff.

Funny .. the only watch I will not flip is my seiko sarb035. As we all know they're great little watches ( 035/033) . Very hard to get now .

Maybe do a video on brellum watches. They are making some decent looking watches for the money.

I always thought the big mistake people make is buying super expensive watches and then being afraid of wearing them in case of damaging them or being robbed. Kind of pointless then.

When buying a "cheap" watch, because you tend to buy watches 'cause they look cool, or go well with your latest shoes... you're probably better off with quartz. Why? The cost of servicing a mechanical watch can exceed the cost of the watch.

Never buy a watch on credit imo. If you can't buy it outright you can't afford it. I've seen people spend 20% of their annual income on a Rolex, just insane.

One day I will probably buy a Rolex because expectations of value increasing, but I just don't actually find them interesting. Maybe a milgauss. Maybe.

Don ´t buy a watch if you haven ´t seen it in real life, if it ´s more than 500 Euros. Buy it only for yourself because you really want it. If you cannot afford it without any compromise, leave it.

Keep it under US$300. Try for better than ten seconds a year accuracy. Steel bracelets are less bad than leather straps. Photovoltaic cells are better than batteries or dribbles of mechanical power. Those have sort of worked for me. Sort of.

Stop buying watches that have bubbles in pricing. Pretty simple.
