there are gifs all over the internet of various parts of this video, but the thing in here that stood out to me most, I have yet to see: Question: What's your favorite word? Answer: Together. He is a novellist. Words are his job. And yet he didn't pick some show-off-y word like prodigious or hamartia. Of all the words in the English language, the one he chose as his favorite was "together". Now isn't that something?

I love that you quoted T.S. Eliot's last line from "The Hollow Men" because it is my favorite part of that poem. I know all poetry is subject to.. well ..subjecture, but I believe he is speaking about how humanity is generally very self-important. We believe that our lives are so important that for them to end it must be a grand finish. In reality, we are smaller than the smallest speck in the universe and our lives could end in a whimper and the universe would continue. I just thought I would share my thoughts on this old video.

MARIO?! Excuse me, but Link is INDEFINITELY better than Mario! And here's why, Mario is a, in the first game, is about 4 pixels tall AND 4 pixels wide, plumber, who runs around MURDERING mushroom people and abusing yoshis. ( i am sorry, but i honestly don't know how to spell that, get of my back, i'm 12) I know this because, in the manual, it gives a story. One that explains that the citizens of the mushroom kingdom were turned into objects INCLUDING, bricks. That's right, every time Mario smashes a brick, he's murdering one of the ppl he's trying to SAVE.AND GETTING MONEY FROM IT! He also PUNCHES the yoshis (still dont know how to spell that...) to make them do stuff. Link, however, is a KID who is saving Hyrule. He, without saying a word, has spoken to thousands of ppl. His selfless actions, and caring facial expressions say a thousand words. Don't believe me? I call to the stand Wind Waker, in which Link is NOT just some random kokiri boy who does what he does because fate says so, hes a small town (well, technically small ISLAND) boy who does what he does to save his SISTER, who was stolen by the Helmaroc King (whose boss battle was slightly underwhelming... well, at least the last part, you gotta admit, running around a room slowly filling with water, while hitting a giant bird with a hammer was pretty epic) His cartoony ( i'm not sure if that's a word or not, but it is now) appearance allows very expressive facial expressions, that show how honest and, just generaly good, his personality is. And his dedication to his family is simply touching, he is honestly trying SOOO very hard, to bring back his little sis to grandma. and that, in my opinion is more than Mario can EVER live up to. So, in all, i believe that link, because of his dedication to his family and acceptence of his kinda sucky fate is a better character than Mario. maybe you just like Mario because of his sentimental value, even more possibly you will never read this, it will just be a overwhelmingly long KZbin comment that no one will ever care about. But maybe, just maybe, someone will. And on the improbable hope that someone WILL read this, and the even MORE improbable hope someone will care. I give it my all, because that is the best I can do. Goodnight.

yes, the factual based evidence in this is correct, but there are obvious reasons for Mario to be considered better, which I'm sure John would said if he had enough time in the video.

I agree... Have you watched the channel Cracked? Because they have a video confirming all of you anti Mario argument
@shershahdrimighdelih7 жыл бұрын
In the game, you are Mario. His morals are your morals. In fact, it is possible to finish the entire game without punching anyone or stepping on a single moomba, or killing anyone, except for Bowser. As for the bricks, I haven't checked yet if it is possible to finish the game without breaking bricks, but that too might be possible. As an aside, if the people were converted to bricks, thet might have died just then, or there might be no way of converting them back. You can't kill something that's not alive

Since a long time i am practicing to writing still i am far away from publishing my own book i am writing these things here because i guess that because this video is so old no one is gonna read this but if you read this than please tell me something about yourself and your ambitions i will love to know that.
