I start getting ready for bed at least 2 hours before bed with an alarm to remind me. My routine includes a SleepyTime tea latte, made with peppermint and chamomile tea, steamed milk and honey with cinnamon. Then I hook myself up to my Dr. Ho machine with a heat pack as I have shoulder pain, followed by flexibility training. This can be stretching, yoga, or tai chi. This is followed by changing into my PJs and doing my skincare, followed by 15 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of meditation. The last thing I do is turn on the Disney Piano Playlist on Spotify and cuddle my cat. It works for me and I remind that self that if I don't follow this routine that's okay.

I set my phone to automatically turn to grey scale at 10 pm as a reminder that it's bedtime. So I use that one hour to do my "nightshift" and then read a book until my eyes get sleepy. And it always works. Very helpful tips, Lena!

i also do self love affirmations when i do my skincare too! specially when i use my face roller, i try to think about the things i accomplished during the day. if you find it weird to talk to yourself in the mirror or you live with other people and you don't want them to hear you, you can just think them or say them in a whisper. it really helps to appreciate yourself more!

I will be honest, I used to REALLY struggle with "no devices on close to bedtime" cause i just wanted to snuggle in my bed and watch youtube all night long. But now I have a shut off time at 7pm where i put my phone in the kitchen (ringer off!), and my laptop charges in my mom's room. And it was SO HARD at first cause my brain was cravin that stimulation (my ADHD brain says "hello!") . But now i read magazines/books before bed and i have the BEST SLEEP OF MY LIFE!

But I like to make myself a relaxing herbal tea and reflect on my day with my journal and I have a gratitude journal. But I have to work on my skincare and on my sleepschedule. This video is spot on! I used to be a night owl and stay up scrolling on my phone or watching movies until I found a consistent night routine. I usually read a book an hour before bed now and it really puts me to sleep. Since I’ve had a night routine I definitely noticed a difference in my energy in the morning. So if you don’t have one, get one!

Read before bed. Not the entertaining books that spike your adrenaline but something that calms your brain. For me that's a combination of self help books and the Bible. Hope this helps someone, x
