What about his superhuman endurance and energy absorption. In the old comics Cyclops could absorb and redirect energy such as the case of him absorbing the cosmic rays of positive energy. He also has superhuman endurance, even when he uses optic blasts to slow down his fal. The fall should still cause some physical damage but it doesn't. He jumped out of that plane, slowed his fall and just walked it off like nothing.
