Up to like the 235 lb lift, I'd say he's natural. I've trained bench press for about 2.5 yrs and currently bench 240-250lbs which is roughly the same timespan it took him hitting 235-250lb. His dad coaches and spots him while he's also bulked significantly. For me, I lift solo, do my own research, and have only put on like 8lbs in bodyweight.
@jeffreycordova90828 ай бұрын
@7:33 I'm glad spotting is mentioned here because that's exactly what I was thinking. If someone is spotting me, I want them ready to assist if/when I fail, not shouting at me and curling the air. If I do not have confidence in my spotter, I do not have confidence in the safety of the lift. The dad looks ready at the beginning, but then as the lift gets harder he gets more animated and pulls his hands away from the bar. I'm sure they have a lot of fun working out together, but there is definitely room for improvement for the both of them!

I started lifting weights seriously at 16 years old and I was 6'0 180lbs and My max was only 135lbs. The only working out prior to this was football and wrestling. In 2 months of bench press I went from 135lbs to 205lbs with sloppy form, decent programming and the desire to bench heavier weights. I got stuck here for a while then decided to actually do some deep learning on hand positioning, breathe bracing, programming, and leg stability while benching. My max went from 205lbs to 245lbs in a month span of lifting after being stuck at 205lbs for a few months. I then hit another struggle and for damn near 6 months after picking up 10lbs of muscle I finally hit 250lbs. I then immediately get covid after this and got somewhat hurt during wrestling season, and my finger nail got crushed by some sliding weights. During track season I recovered and got back to lifting heavy and some more weight and from the following April to now I went from 250lbs to 265lbs and hoping to get 275 right before June. I remember years before tis prolly even elementary school my dad would use to tell my brother and I to do pushups and pullups and stuff. My dad grew up in the 70s on a farm and said he read a book and he got really interested into muscles and he would do 100 pushups. He then said he benched 400 in highschool and I believe that because hes 51 years old benching 315lbs.

In my opinion, lifting weights doesn't really count as real great exercise until you're 13 or so, when your hormones kick in. I remember how much we all changed from age 12 to 13 in sports. Some of the kids who were superstars on the playground at 12 didn't even make the football team at age 13 in middle school.
@65FASTBACKMAN-dx9ge7 ай бұрын
I'm kind of on the fence with this one as 500 lbs at any bodyweight and any age is insane, especially if you are truly natural. I started working out and lifting weights in the 8th grade, or roughly when I was 14 years old. Of which at the time, I was repping 135 lbs on day one, though I was obviously 2 years older, so it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison. That being said, I continued lifting weights pretty seriously all through high school, especially when I got involved with football. But the highest that I ever got on the bench press was 340 lbs my senior year, at a bodyweight of around 220-225 lbs. I was in weightlifting class, working out and doing two bench press workouts a week and I'd go up 5 lbs a week in my lifts. I was typically doing a 5x5 or a 6x6 and would do 275 lbs when I hit a single rep at 340 lbs. I can see how this kid would be able to get 500 lbs if he had two more years on top of what I had and yes, his form is quite terrible, which helps him get more weight. I don't think that the kid is 100% natural, as I'm sure he's taking creatine and a bunch of other things... but I don't think he's on Tren or steroids. Currently, I just hit 405 lbs for 6 reps a week or two ago and my goal has always been to get a single rep max of over 500 lbs. But I'm also in my late 30's with a height of 6'2" tall, weighing around 265 lbs for bodyweight, with a pretty similar body style to what this kid has. I've been close to hitting 500 lbs for a single rep max in the past but would have to deal with things like my gym getting shut down in 2020 because of the rona, as well as injuries, work, getting sick and so forth.

When I was 17 there was a kid named Jake Byle who in 8th grade was putting up close to 500lbs. I'm 6'5 and this kid absolutely dwarfed me. At like 14 he was 6'5, but 260 with literal abs. He is the greatest freak I have ever seen and I always wonder if social media would have existed he would have been a gd celebrity. This is impressive, but I've seen orders of magnitude more impressive, at a younger age. Not to take anything away from this kid, he's an absolute BEAST, but Jake Byle skewed my perception of strength. He could of been the worlds strongest man competitor, could have been a celebrity if he were to have grown up in a different era. Aside from his freakish strength, he was a awesome kid, super nice guy, humble, really, really likeable, multiple state champion wrestler, obtained full rides for football and wrestling in college, etc, etc. Excited to see if this kid capitalizes on his hard work over the years, and will presumably some day be pushing record levels of weights.

could theoretically be natty for sure if he started training at 12. he was already benching 60kg at 12 as well, pretty good starting point. in my experience I've been able to go from 125-180kg bench in 6 months naturally, a faster rate of progression than him as it took him 2 years to cover that ground, so I don't see why he can't be natty
@astrofotografija4146 ай бұрын
Don't know anything about that theory ur referring to, but in my theory, that is not natty for sure, and u are also not natty benching 180 kg. Why do u people think everyone is stupid to believe ur lies? Not everyone is a newbie, and there are plenty of people like me who have been natty for life. WE know what the natty struggles are, so don't spew bs and insult someone's intelligence, for the love of God!

225 at 13 is wild. But the progress he started making at 14 makes me feel like he’s not natural. Even If you go back only 5-10 years you don’t see ANY middle schoolers/ JR high kids benching anywhere near this much and now these kids are everywhere lol same time sarms and other “research chemicals” can be discreetly shipped to your door 😂 🤷🏻♂️ Either way kids strong af 💪🏻

My genetics are so crappy that I didn’t hit 295 until I was 31 and was put on trt! I started at 16 and hadn’t been above 275 that whole time. Being put on trt the week I turned 31 changed everything. I hit 355 at 35 plus all my lifts went up the same. I was 5’6” 190 pounds when I did the 355 so nothing earth shattering but after having been stuck so long, I was very happy. I couldn’t get above 170 body weight all those years natural so I have no idea if I had low testosterone my whole life or was just naturally super skinny. I had energy and sex drive so maybe I was just high enough to not show signs of low T. A bike crash at 35 and a half took it all away for a few years. I was almost 40 before I was back at it but my strength never seemed to be able to get back to where it was those 4 years. My shoulders felt fine after the surgeries but I just haven’t been able to get back into the 300’s for some reason. I am also 54 now.

My bench started at 45lbs at 13, currently my max after 1 year at 14, is 100lbs. Kinda wish it was more, and no I don’t think it was my training, I bench 2-3x a week. 5-6 sets per session +paused +slow-ish decent, any possible ideas? ( I don’t take creatine and don’t want to, I’m too young ) Reasons why I think I didn’t grow more: - not eating enough >2500 calories - not sleeping enough (I only get 6-7 hours💀) - not stretching - genetics??? I have relatively fit parents though, so prob not genetic. - age

Well, I was pretty strong as well till 35, could lift much more then my bodyweight of 75kgs, but stopped at 235lbs and I would do 6-8 reps of this on my last set. I'm 61 now and still lifting SENSIBLY, and am so glad all my joints/ligaments are still fine. Also wiegh much less- 65-70 kgs depending. But I'll still go for 380lb freesquats, reps of 6-8 with s spotter when I occasionally feel like it. AND am natty and a vegetarian. Very strong kid though.
