@@NotMichaelClearlyI don’t think it’s that’s cynical. He genuinely has an eating disorder but won’t acknowledge or address it. If he did, THAT would actually garner meaningful attention. Right now other collaborators are just using him to virtue signal for their own content, so they appear “body positive” or whatever. If they had an ounce of integrity they’d tell him the uncomfortable truth: “We know you don’t eat. You know you don’t eat. Only you know why. Figure it out, or talk to a professional because it’s holding you back.” But no. Instead they’ll be like “keep crushing it bro” and other empty slogans to make themselves feel good about themselves. Then again, it’s not their job to help him. It’s Jack’s responsibility. Why should they make themselves uncomfortable? Anyway… I do feel bad for Jack. I genuinely do. He needs a real friend. Not a digital one. If he had a real friend then he would pull him aside and have a serious talk with him. That’ll never happen online when the uncomfortable and inconvenient truth gets not only dismissed as “hate” but idiot commenters mollycoddle him with “you go girl” slogans so they can pat themselves on the back 🙄 This reminds me of the Jeremy Kyle show. Jeremy Kyle used to parade around vulnerable people with serious issues on his show for the amusement of the audience then pretend the purpose of the show is to help them. This content is like that except Jack doesn’t realise he’s a contestant 🤔

Be cautious though. I was around 130-140lb at 6ft from 18 until my late 20s regardless of what I ate, at some point in my late 20s it was like a switch got flipped and I shot up to around 200lbs within 2 years and then drifted towards 230ish until I got my diet back under control. Just be aware of your progress and if it seems to be going out of control then you might have gone through some kind of natural hormonal change and you'll need to adjust your intake to avoid overshooting and getting fat. I still do a LOT of exercise and I eat around 2100 - 2400 calories per day. My BMI is around 18.5. I can't imagine this young man eating around 2000 calories per day! No wonder he isn't putting on muscle. I include a lot of dates, in my diet, for the fibre, macros and calories. I also eat a lot of nuts and complex carbs for the same reason. Otherwise, I get too skinny.

I appreciate that Greg is not beating around the bush. I've always been against that "accept yourself" BS. You might think "That's probably because you've always looked good". Hell no. I used to be a fat kid, but because i refused to accept that I would never be lean, i managed to fight that and win. Later on I let myself go during university years. I ended up alone and depressed. But instead of eating to make myself feel better, i fought again. Day after day, no matter if I had a job or a day off. It became all i cared about. I knew I had it in me - after all I already did it once. I still got a lil belly to lose, but I haven't said my last word, and the muscles look damn fine. So if you're as hopeless as I once was - don't look for excuses. Get you ass to work. You don't have to do anything perfectly - working out wrong is still better than not doing anything. Even if you get these slowly, at least you're not stuck in place, and each year you'll be closer than you used to be last year.

THANK YOU COACH GREG. Speaking as someone who undulated into being very skinny (155lbs at 6'2 at my worst), you are absolutely right. It is even unhelpful when people say 'positive' things like "you must have a great metabolism" or " you're so lucky you don't gain any weight!". This is NOT true, you HAVE to be honest with yourself and recognise there's a problem, as Greg says, no matter how many calories you're eating, it's not enough if you're extremely underweight. It is worth noting, that the year I was 155lbs - when I was around 22, I bounced back and put in the work, took around 1 year to get up to 190lbs - granted that may be because of genetics, I don't know if it's normal, but I did it. Now I'm a healthy 210 lbs with 12% bf. I was extremely lucky to have a close friend who highlighted the problem and express concern for me, this tough love is exactly what people like JacksFit need. It IS possible, you just have to be honest with yourself and others and put in the effort!

His decision
@wizardofoslo7 ай бұрын
@@bofelden8433 ED isn't a decision, it's an illness which is hard to treat on your own; your body gets so used to eating less and less that it reaches a point where you can't "just eat more" like a normal person. It is however his decision whether to get treatment or not. 3-6 months at an ED clinic should help him gain way more weight than he's been doing the last few years combined. This shouldn't be an issue seeing as he lives in the UK with access to NHS.

yeah, I was in the marines back in 2001, and we had some guys who got put on 'double rats' diets. They were forced to eat twice as much as anyone else in order to gain weight. I looked at one of these guys -- he looked like a beanpole from the phillipines. He was so skinny that I could literally see the veins in his chest pulsing with eat heart beat. Like, he was beyond 'counting ribs' skinny. He had to have known hunger for many years to get to that state.
@SteveDave.7 ай бұрын
@@mslice09 Facts. He probably didn't run much before. The cardio will be important at some level. The true hurdles are going to be eating enough food. I never realized how little I ate before.

@@SteveDave. Yes ,..not eating enough high density foods with more cals.and fats are a main reason..many skinny people think they are eating so much food ,when in fact it only adds up to less then 2000 calories.....but also many skinny people have a fast metabolism and burn to many calories either through aerobics or just the type of job they're doing....in any case they don't realize that these two things are hindering their progress in weight gain and in muscle growth...this was my problem as a teenager....I was eating McDonald's three times a day and drinking weight gainers but running marathons and ocean lifeguarding and surfing...it didn't occur to me that exercise was the problem for two years .. until .I met a bodybuilder/ trainer.and he just laughed .and told he to cut down and that was the turning point for me .I meet skinny kids in the gym all the time, that tell me they are hard gainers but they don't tell you they are doing ten hours of exercise a day and they are vegetarian.or eating healthy low calorie foods.
