Yes! I know its not so fun at the beginning but so worth it once you push through. We are really protecting our backs when we do this and make the good side noticeably better!

Thats amazing! Yes its so good to practice both sides from the start. You'll become an ambidextrous hooper! I hooped only in one direction for years. Once I started both sides, I was thinking 'why didn't I think if this before?'. But better late than never, I guess.

Hi Scarlett, I love your videos and have been doing them for a while, but it doesn’t seem to be helping with toning my stomach area. I also do a weighted abs routine and swimming. Any advice on how to tone more with the Hula Hoop would be greatly appreciated.

Yes! The music is so important! I spend a lot of time collecting and mixing the best tunes to push your workout to the next level. So I'm super happy that you appreciate it 😁 The opposite direction will come over time. It can feel frustrating at first as you basically have to learn to hula hoop all over again but totally worth it. Keep up the awesome work 💪

Hi Scarlet, I absolutely love your videos and the music, the crisp moves and directions. My problem is that I just can’t belly hoop as you say, I can hoop with my feet apart, probably doing waist hooping, so I’ve been trying to hoop with my feet together but just can’t get that hoop going... could you do (just a suggestion :)) a tutorial on the exact movement of belly hooping or maybe some preparatory exercises we can do? Thank you!!!

Hi Valentina, thanks for the suggestion. Actually, in my live fitness classes we do some HIIT ab workouts before we hula hoop, would you be interested in seeing videos on this? I will definitly do a video on this in more depth on waist hooping technique. I'd say keep your feel apart for now. Once that feels so comfortable that you don't have to think about it anymore, then you can start to narrow the position of the feet. Do it step by step, so maybe just one step in each day and eventually you will get there. The benefit of bringing your feet together is that we reduce our centre of gravity and use our abs more to keep the body balanced. It's definitly more difficult with the feet together. But totally achievable! Work at you own pace, don't put too much pressure on yourself and most importantly, enjoy it!

I love these videos but I cannot get the hang of going in the opposite direction!!!! The hoop feels so unnatural!!!!

So glad you enjoy them ☺️ Yes, it is weird at first but will get easier. Try just simple waist hooping on all the opposite direction sections, until that feels comfortable. Once that feel more natural you can bring in all the extra arm and leg movements. Then one day you’ll realise you can even flow in the opposite direction 😁
