Recently, my narrowboat life has been hectic: stuck behind lock closures, battling storms and being frozen in during arctic blasts, so this week I am hoping to find some peace and quiet. Will I get it? Sit back, relax and enjoy! Take care🌻🦋

Howdy from Canada. I'm amazed at how the nature is very similar to ours. Starlings amaze me with their huge vocabulary. They never make the same sound or songs twice. I think they can actually communicate with each other. They nest all around my house and poop on my car. I never make repairs to the house until the nesting is done. I listen to them sometimes for hours while sitting on the front porch. Once in a while they'll make the funniest calls. Bye for now.

Fantastic 👍 How you steer that massive narrowboat around these waterways is just awe inspiring ❤️ Waterways scare me in some respects. As I was brought up in care homes in the 60’s/70’s in Ealing and we use to ‘play’ around on the Grand Union canal. They were always ‘spooky’ places as a young child. So it is really heart warming to see you ease your way through 👍 and provide such beautiful vids 👍 You could grow garlic and chilli on your roof 😃

Adult life has been difficult. Simply because some things that happen to you as a young child. Can haunt you for the rest of your days. I try to take a philosophical viewpoint. In that, it’s all relative….and there are folk that go through much worse and others that get through life relatively unscathed. But at the end of the day……hurt is hurt, no matter how or where it comes from. Didn’t think I’d make 20, 30, 40, 50…….but here I am at 63 and still fighting 👍 Thank you for your kind words🙏

Really lovely stretch of canal. That story sculpture was amazing and so clever. My favorite part though was the exploration of the dry stone wall with all its unique and fascinating residents. Now what was your snack with tea, was that a crepe? Looked quite yummy. Which reminds me to be off to the grocery store for some victuals. Lovely seeing the canals near me and cruising with you. The owl in the sculpture is a depiction of a really old pottery ornament found whilst being filmed on antiques roadshow. 1 of the oldest , its now in the potteries museum at Hanley Stoke-On-Trent

It's tragic the old railways were ever shut down, it's a great way to get around & usually through gorgeous areas you wouldn't see otherwise. Love the cassowary story, well done defeating the chickens!! 😸 Would hate to meet a real one in the wrong place. Those lichen are so beautiful aren't they, delicate tiny plants full of detail. This trip looks relaxing. Seeing the walls with all the various artefacts was interesting, with the Staffordshire knot at the one end. On my passing out parade the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire explained it was to hang three men with one length of rope. Have a great trip.😀

The two wall monuments are really lovely! I especially loved the owl, bird, teapots and cups, leaf, and bolts. Zephyr looked a bit mystified by them, however. An unexpected encounter with the Emus along the canal; not something you'd normally see in England except at the Zoo. I'm glad your Cassowary encounter years ago turned out to be chickens. They're quite intimidating-looking! But boy, Zephyr is like a tiger with that broom--Woo-hoo!--and I bet that Cassowary would be no match against her in a pinch! Hello, only recently found your vlogs, takes me a while as technology is not my thing! Searching for peace 🤔you have a few that will be with you there in this ever faster and chaotic world! Your drawings are amazing, you are very talented, and you have inspired me to draw/paint again, I got an O-level in Art at school but haven’t drawn/painted since I left school, working and raising family etc, but your love of the beautiful natural things around us is lovely to see and very inspirational and calming. I am 60 years old and have spent 42 years travelling the roads of UK/ Europe as a Lorry driver, but the world is getting faster and I’m getting slower, or maybe I just can’t be bothered to try and keep up any more. Your videos show so much of how beautiful England is if you just stop/look/listen, and what amazing Industrial Heritage we have. Loved seeing the Emus. Dont often see them depending where you are in Australia. But just in the last 12 months, I've seen a pair take up residence in a farmer's field along the country road I travel most days to drop my so at work....and they've started raising a family, raising two chicks this time. Priorto this it had been about 10 years since I saw emus in my area! Blessings from Australia.

I am alikin that lichen 😁 and mosses. I love the macro photography especially fungi. And emus wow. We travelled in western Queensland last year and saw so many emu dads with chicks.. I did laugh at your cassowary story. Thanks for sharing I love following your adventures.

As children in North London , during and after the war , we used to see the narrowboats towing their butty boats . I think they used to take coal to the paper mills at Abbots Langley . Cos they didnt have much living space on each boat , the locks were wider , to get the two boats in side by side .I think they were all owned by one firm , something , Clayton and Shuttleworth , cant really remember but then at getting towards 90 ones memory isnt so good . I used to love to hear the thump ,, thump , thump of the engine .

Disused railway lines and stations seem so 'haunting' - Maybe because of the paraffin lamps and gas-lights that were always present? ... Now 'too bright' led lights taken their place of course 😞 .... Great Aussie story 😂🤠
