I find it interesting that *many* people assume that Daniel killed that other character, but we don't really know what happened. We know he's tied to the death, but that is all.

Quick note :same experiment were done with kids and bowl of candies. When they put a huge mirror there almodt none stole, simply seeing themselves. Theory about neighbour trench coat guy: high necked coat covers his triangle tatoo on his neck : he is the kid..

Ha! I had a whole discussion on the type of language the characters use. So, apparently it's the same in French and in German it's more through the absence of old fashioned words (in Dark the German had period related vocabulary). Also some pop culture phrases that definitely didn't exist in 1899.

Oh, I actually found it odd that a German crew in 1899 would call their Captain "Captain". They surely would use the German Word "Kapitän", even on an English owned ship. I didn't notice other phrases but I will pay attention on my rewatch.

in the last video, you guys were talking about liking hearing danish! i don't know if you've already heard of it, but there's a show called "the rain" which is the first ever netflix danish show. it has the actor who plays krester as a lead and also the actress for tove! i feel you'd enjoy it.

Kat tried, did not like it one bit. The best actor/actress of the series died off during the first 10 min and left a bunch of cringe in its wake. I think it's easier to enjoy that series when you are not a Danish native.

@@KatSonny oh i see. to each their own! i had a break from that show so im not judging. i will say the two later seasons are really good, better than the first season, and lucas lynggaard tønnesen (who played krester) was probably the best actor for me on there.

Great reaction. Interesting about the Dane's not sounding authentic and more theatrical. I'm trying to think of examples in American TV shows or films. Maybe Shatner's Captain Kirk is an example of that where most things he says sound like an emotional proclamation. They call that over-acting, I think, lol.

I'm always unclear when ppl suggest this. This is the 1800's, are they supposed to sound modern? Is the person factoring in the period when making this comparison?

Dark was pretty believable. Pretty normal language IMHO.

About actors not sounding authentic. I don't think we have that in Germany. Andreas Pietschmann for example sounds really authentic. Good actors sound authentic imo provided the script is decent. But dubbed versions of foreign movies sound kinda fake.

I rewatched season one. Noticed more interesting details. I also appreciated more what the creators were going for... And yeah. There's something off when characters speak. Their choice of words. I realized this by episode two. And I didn't realize Ada isn't a typical Danish name. Very interesting... 🤔 And Kat looked so relieved to start watching after your epic speech... 😂

If you haven't seen the movie "23 - Nichts ist so wie es scheint" (1998) I'd love to see a reaction! Besides "Who am I" (same creators as Dark and 1899) and "Knocking on heavens door" one of the 3 *really* great German movies!

Yeah, Dead kids are a signature of the creators I'm guessing. The weird stuff is pretty good. It's interesting with the start of the episode and the end of the episode is pretty intriguing as well.

Netflix are very harsh on giving a new Series another Season. This Year "the imperfects" and other awesome Show have been cancel after Just 1 Season but they where damn good its a shame. And crappy Shows get a new Season its all about Ratings.

I'm fairly certain they signed a deal with Netflix after Dark concluded. I don't think there's any risk of them not getting all 3 seasons
