I worked on my late father's secretary's lawn mower with that same type of two stroke engine. I bought a new condenser, a stater point, and a coil, put it all together and my word, it started on the 1st, maybe 2nd pull. I was one happy camper. Back in 1989. 😊❤

I used to work on those Tecumseh / Aspera engines every day back in the late 70' s . They used to be fitted to the Hover mowers we had , named Flymo etc .

I had two the same exact mowers as this except mine were the electric version but they were whisper quiet which was neat. It’s cool seeing the gas version of it on here

Awesome Mower! Just to clarify, it is from the early 60´s, around 1963, earlier the motor looked different, it´s a model "TA..." It is a Power Products engine, not a Lauson. Tecumseh purchased Power Products (they supplied the two stroke engines) around the same time they purchased Lauson (they supplied the four stroke engines).

@@MaxACCheers! I collect the Italien Licensee version of these engines, called Aspera or Tecnamotor. That´s how I know. Greetings from Germany!

Did you do any more with it? I'm so happy to see this! I pushed one of those around our yard and several neighbors' as well about 1959-61. Fond memories!

I’m glad you didn’t lose a couple finger tips to that mower blade like my brother did.

I wondered if one could rotate a 2 stroke from verticle shaft to horizontal shaft.

@@MaxAC as long as its getting the right premix you can mount how you want, thats why string trimmers have membrane carburators.
