Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I have a 63 C10 and was really struggling to install the steel bushings while also maintaining free play in the shaft. Using your method I was able to EASILY install the steel bushings and torque to spec without any issues at all while maintaining a nice center placement as needed. Thank you!

Question, do I need to replace it as a set or can I just buy the thread bushing and use my old control arm shaft? I have a 66 gmc 1500 so my control shaftis different then the chevy version.
@jaredwike85843 жыл бұрын
I heard you say you tightened the lower arm bushings at 120 ft lbs, but didn’t hear what upper arms were torqued at. Could you please tell me what you set them at ?

What is the procedure if it doesn't rotate freely? Once I put mine together I can force rotation by applying force to it but it won't spin freely
@ThrottleStopRacing Жыл бұрын
I was lucky and they both spun. Not sure what you do if they do not. Take them apart again and look for burs?

do you lubricate or put antisez on any of that stuff?

I used "Green Grease". The steel bushings have alight fittings in the ends and I will load the bushings with the same grease before we install the control arms on the frame.

Sir, I am getting ready to do the same upper control arm. You mentioned the torque values from the manual, but you didn't use a torque wrench. I'm a little confused. Do I need to torque them or just bottom them out in the control arm? THANKS!
@ThrottleStopRacing3 жыл бұрын
A torque wrench was used off camera, sorry cor the confusion. (the pivot shaft should still turn when you are done)

@@ThrottleStopRacing okay, gotcha. I thought maybe that was it when I finished the video and saw you used one on the lower arm. Thanks much!
